Something funny has been going on with my sound system the past two weeks. I've been noticing that the bass from my subs and door speakers sound distorted . This is not all the time though, my system will sometimes sound perfectly clean and then go back to playing with the distorted signal again. My electrical is currently stock with 2 gauge wire, a capacitor and my sub amp is a sundown sa 125.2 which does get very hot. I have previosly blew all the fuses in my amp but they were replaced at a local shop. My voltage is usually bouncing around between 10 and 12 according to the meter on my cap. What do you think my problem is and how can I fix it?

So i am planning to rebuild and i was planning on 4 15's but don't want to give up that much space. I would like to keep it at the c-pillar. So i was thinking 3 15's. So what would i have to worry about wiring up 3 subs? I have 2 AQ2200d to power them so if i strap them i would like to stay near the 2 ohm's. I dont know much about box rise but if i had them wired at 1.5ohm's would that be ok? What other suggestions do you guys have

I waited over the weekend to see if the Icons went on the "Outrageous Deal" but they didn't haha but since they're still at a very good price I am going to buy two of them and wanted to make sure that I will get a 1 ohm load on my amp with 2 subs if I buy two D1 subs. Is this correct?

Hey guys it's been a while since I've last been on here, but since then I've decided to see if I could could sell my system. I have a friend interested and he wants to know a price. I told him I would think about it and get back with him. Now my question for you guys is what would you consider a reasonable selling price for my system. I only ask because, when it comes to selling I always tend to throw out number far too high so I figured you guys would be my second opinion. If you don't know what I have it's a 15" Fi BTL UFO slug D1, along with a Crescendo 3KWP, and my KNU Konceptz Kollosus 1/0 20'. Since I didn't have the electrical to run it to .5 It's only seen 2 ohms.…

need some help to come up with net volume and frequency for this sub. my friend will be running 2 of them in a blowthru and space is not an issue. the gray line is the rsdc (2 of them) with 1200rms, the red is 2 12" AA arsenals w/ 600 rms, and the orange is 2 12" l7s with 1200rms you can get the specs from the image if you like pg recommended, according to someone on pheonixphorum.com, specs for ported are 2.5 cubes per sub tuned at 23.28 hz. (spl secs are .8 cubes and tuned very high... like 50 hz iirc...) as you can see i bumbed it up to 24.5hz. but i still think this looks very low. i also notice you run out of xmax @ 600rms per sub.

so in my blazer my current setup right now is 4 p3 fosgate 12s on one sundown 3500. my box is a little under 8 cuft tuned to 37ish hz. my score was a 147.2 and it peaked at 46hz. I'm fairly pleased with what it did considering when we clamped the amp for my second run, I did the same score but the amp was only doing 1863 watts!? I'm pretty sure that my alt might have something wrong with it that's why the power wasn't there. well what do you guys thiink? is it a respectable score?

I have decided that I am open to trying a 6th order blowthrough for my XCON and will pay someone to design something for it. I currently am doing a ported box with a small adaptor over the front to channel it in through the ski-port but have been reccomended to just try a 6th or 4th order, I love the sound of 4th orders but the XCON is not so suited for that so a 6th order would be the go here. I am after a response resonably flat between 28hz and 50hz or so and the port has to exit pretty much central to the width of the box. The port can be external by 80mm at the top and about 110mm at the bottom and have max dimensions of W:320mm X H: 185mm (Internal Dimensions)…

i want to design a box for my 10in ssds. i kinda wanted to go ported so they require at least .9 of airspace after displacments. the space i have to work with is 53in long 15in tall bottom depth around 11in top around 4in. its going in a standard cab s10 so if anyone has better ideas that would be cool i just kinda wanted to go ported this time instead of sealed but if i cant it aint no problem

  13. Lately I've been looking into Fibeglass subwoofer enclosures and I'm just wondering if they function any differently then an MDF enclosure? I've done some research and wouldn't think it would affect the sound if it was properly constructed but alot of people online have said that MDF is the way to go. Is that just because MDF is so much easier to work with or does fiberglass really affect the output of the woofer? Also, after looking around the site alot of people here use fiberglass for speakers and midbass drivers but not many use it for Subs and that got me worrying about it too. If any of the Guru's here could shed some light on the subject it would be greatly appreci…

Due to my inability to use the SSA search feature (i'm guessing it's the school computers) could anyone either post a link to another thread, or a simple diagram on how to do so? *the tech guy at our school screwed up yesterday and programmed all sites not relating to school stuff (search engines too, once an non related search was given) to be locked automatically . it turned out his parameters were much too vague . He is untangling it now, or i woulda used google.

ok so i was just browsing some older topics today and realized that i have a wire kinda out of whack. im not sure if it is hurting or helping me or if it even has any effect at all. the blue wire (line) in the pic is the wire im referring to. its from my alternator negative to the negative on my second battery in the back. i have no idea what was going through my mind when i hooked it up like this but if im not mistaken, isnt it doing the same thing as if it were the negative on my battery up front to my battery in the back? also, one of my other questions was should i be running a power wire from the + on my alt to the + on my batteries in the back?? the way the pic is i…

I have the chance to buy an orion hcca d2400. The guy says it keeps blowing fuses. I'm thinking the power supply is shot. Can anyone give me a rough estimate as to what db-r charges for this sort of repair. I put in a request but haven't heard anything back yet.

I'm in some serious need of more deadener. I have decided, for the most part, on RAAMmat BXT. I'm just not sure if I should pair it with the ensolite or not. I'm sure it will help, but would it be worth the extra money (limited budget for now)? My main concern is the roof by the way. Thanks in advance for all suggestions and advice.
