well i was messing around with the amp and i had only one of the L5 subs on hmm bass bust XD, after 1 minute i smelled something weird "it smells like chicken no wait its the sub" so after turning it down i found out that got blown now i ask is there any recone kit for them or the sub its done already i kind of got them for free so no sad feelings. i live in san antonio maybe i can take it to a shop i dont feel like spending 80 on shipping thats worth more than the sub oppps sorry place this in wrong area

So far from what I've researched, based on the music I listen to (Rap, ,etal, alternative i.e....Trick Daddy, T.I., Outkast, Linkin Park, Chili Peppers, and everything in between. Lol, all kinds of chit). I want an all around set-up. Not for competing, just good loud sound quality and hard hitting bass. I'm not going to state SPL or SQ because I've learned that these terms can be mis-interpeted by some. Sound quality can be a subjective term and I'm not looking to be burping. Allright so within the next month I will be ordering an FI BL 12 to put in my 98 mustang gt, I currently have a soundstream tx1.2000D mono block amp to power the BL. Also I will be running it at 1ohm, do you think the BL will be able to handle the watts or should I keep the amp around 1000-1500? Any feedback is appreciated. Just want to know your thoughts

Lately I've been looking into Fibeglass subwoofer enclosures and I'm just wondering if they function any differently then an MDF enclosure? I've done some research and wouldn't think it would affect the sound if it was properly constructed but alot of people online have said that MDF is the way to go. Is that just because MDF is so much easier to work with or does fiberglass really affect the output of the woofer? Also, after looking around the site alot of people here use fiberglass for speakers and midbass drivers but not many use it for Subs and that got me worrying about it too. I need to test my old bd1000.1 but need to figure out what speaker wire is what to hook up to my line output converter. Nothing is marked in any way besides color. This is for a 06 impala without bose.all the power and everything is hooked up. Just waiting to test the rcas. The left rear speaker has brown and yellow and the right rear speaker has blue and light blue. Any ideas one which is positive and negative? I need to find out if this amp works or I'm gonna but a new one ASAP.

I am putting a new system in my girls car and was thinking about using some plexiglass on a sealed system. My question is though, how does this affect the sound? I have seen plenty of systems in magazines using plexiglass but never heard one, does it have an impact on the way it sounds or no.

I have looked around and seen a system I would like to get rigged up. It's 2 Alpine SWR-1222D's powered by a Hifonics 1606D wired in at 2ohms in a 3ft^ ported enclosure tuned to 35hz.??? Im a little iffy about the box. It sounds like it would be good to me. Thanks in Advance ~MadroX

ok so i talked to my friend and hes getting around 13.5 volts to everything in his car. i thought i was only getting about 14, but when i checked it with my DMM im getting something steady between 17.2 and 18.6 is this overkill or is that good?

My soft top Jeep wrangler has been burglarized 4 times now at my crappy apartment complex. The thieves have never stolen anything valued over $30 but I'm tired of feeling violated. well i had ordered some items from someone over at CA.com Friday 9th. I received the image dynamic speakers thursday I believe without the sub. I couldn't imagine why I didn't get both of them but I just shrugged it off. Well.....I just got back from a trip and I told my parents about it and they said "Yeah, we have something to tell you." My dad hands me an envolpe that has nothing but a label and an aplogoy note from the postal service. Basically someone either A) stole my sub or B. lost the package which I have no idea how you lose something this big. so we are going to go talk to the people about this monday. So I just installed a LOC on my front channels and ran the RCA cable to the rear..Tried to take off the passenger door panel based off what I found on google. Didn't work out so well (Said screws were somewhere they werent, still no idea what I need to unscrew to lift the panel off..) Any tips? Vehicle is a 2006 tahoe.

I'm really new to car audio and i'm going to get a full set up. i need advice on what to get. i want a system for mostly hip hop and rap. the plan is to get the 15 l7 walled off and deaden the cab with a roll of raamat. im planning on keeping his factor stereo because he has the digital climate controlls build in. its the mach audio system so there is a factory amp. ive been told its puts outs 20x4. id like to add the mtx req if anyone thinks it would help. and as far the speakers go idk what id like to do here. budget is about 150-175. or $250 budget if u throw out the mtx req and go a different way with that. any advice?
