So I sold my system and vehicle about 2.5 years ago for a Infiniti G37S Sedan with the factory Bose system. It's been holding well, but I got the urge for some bass recently. I know what i want to do, just not sure on equipment. Amp will be integrated with stock system using Bose amp inputs in the trunk. The factory IB 10" will be removed from the rear deck. I will build a box for the trunk, ~1.25-1.5cubes @33Hz. Electrical will stay factory, 4Ga wire. I am not trying to spend too much here, maybe $225-$275 for a decent 10" and amp. I have looked at some cheaper stuff such as RE SE-X for like $119 and a cheap planet audio amp that should be good for ~600rms for $100. S…

I have a friend with the truck above, he wants to keep the factory h/u and look. My 1st thought was a Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.1 to handle that duty, buts it kind of an expensive route to take unless I pick it up off ebay or a similar place. Sub wise we're going with the Soundsplinter RL-i 8 either dual 4 or single 4, dependent on amp choice he makes. Planning on ported, but what size box/port area/vent size do you recommend?? Amplifier choices so far are as follows, JBL GTO 601.1, Alpine MRP-M500, Alpine PDX-1.600, Kicker ZX500.1, Rockford Fosgate R500-1, and any others you can recommend, any suggestions on anything I've stated so far would greatly be appreciated. With the sale on Flatline amplifiers, it's hard not to resist asking if upgrading is worth it... I currently have a Soundqubed 1200.1 powering my SSA Icon 15 d2 in a sealed 2.6 ft^3 box. Will there be any noticeable difference in loudness? Will this amp provide enough headroom in case I purchase another Icon 15 in the future? Any information would be helpful since there isn't much data on these amps. Thank you

when i think about the next setup i want, I just dont know what i want because i listen to a lot of double bass and rap. Is there a type of enclosure that has acoustically accurate response appropriate for rock but also has the ability to get low? low meaning like 30 hertz ish. Haven't heard many ported setups other than my own on rock, and they always sound like shit compared to a sealed box. But I don't actually know if its because of my box, or because its an spl sub, etc. anyone have any advice? EDIT: I'm talking about subs just incase anybody didnt realize this

I need a new alt cause im about to put 2k rms in my car. Already found one from excessive- 200A. Did the math for the amps, should be good. He includes diff. guages of wire, I knew I would need that but what guage? 2? He says that it should bolt right on, but is there anything else I need? What about fuses and their ratings? Since this isnt in my area im just going to have my mechanic put it in but I want all the parts ready to go cause I dont think his parts are as cheap as excessive's...

well i had ordered some items from someone over at CA.com Friday 9th. I received the image dynamic speakers thursday I believe without the sub. I couldn't imagine why I didn't get both of them but I just shrugged it off. Well.....I just got back from a trip and I told my parents about it and they said "Yeah, we have something to tell you." My dad hands me an envolpe that has nothing but a label and an aplogoy note from the postal service. Basically someone either A) stole my sub or B. lost the package which I have no idea how you lose something this big. so we are going to go talk to the people about this monday. I'm really bummed about it

Hello all, new here. Wanting to get some opinions on my upcoming box build. Never did an extended cab before. Ok so the sub is a 12" Fi BL on a rockford t1500 bdcp. Now the box I have figured is 3.9 cuft gross and 2.5 after all displacement(I plan on double baffling). Port will be a t-line style. My question is Port up? Or Port Forward? Box dimensions are 39" x 15" x 15" so port will be the same either way at 3" x 13.5". Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Why does one need two RCA cables (i.e. red and white) to plug into a mono channel subwoofer amplifier? It seems to play just fine with only one "channel" plugged in... Why is the subwoofer output "left and right"? Thanks for answering my stupid question.

Something funny has been going on with my sound system the past two weeks. I've been noticing that the bass from my subs and door speakers sound distorted . This is not all the time though, my system will sometimes sound perfectly clean and then go back to playing with the distorted signal again. My electrical is currently stock with 2 gauge wire, a capacitor and my sub amp is a sundown sa 125.2 which does get very hot. I have previosly blew all the fuses in my amp but they were replaced at a local shop. My voltage is usually bouncing around between 10 and 12 according to the meter on my cap. What do you think my problem is and how can I fix it?

i want to design a box for my 10in ssds. i kinda wanted to go ported so they require at least .9 of airspace after displacments. the space i have to work with is 53in long 15in tall bottom depth around 11in top around 4in. its going in a standard cab s10 so if anyone has better ideas that would be cool i just kinda wanted to go ported this time instead of sealed but if i cant it aint no problem

I changed up the design on my towers, so I don't have a place to mount / hide the crossovers. The initial design called for them to be placed inside of the cabinets ... in the upper section with the 5.25's and tweets. However, I scrapped that idea to gain more internal volume and pushed the 'back' all the way back so it's flush with the back of the bottom section (think of one solid back ... mind you, I'm sure you've seen the pictures, so no need for me to explain it).
