i just wanted to know what is the correct way of using oscilloscope to set amplifier gain. 1. Do you scope the amp with the speakers connected? or just hook up the scopemeter to the amp speaker terminal? 2. What test tone to use to set subwoofer amp, midrange amp and tweeter amp? Will 50hz and 1khz be sufficient? I do notice that if i set amp gain at 80hz and then play 50hz test tone, the amp output is clipped. So how low on test tone frequency shall i use for sub amp? 3. For music playback, is it better to use 0db test tone or -3db / -6 db for gain overlap? thanks

I am wanting to put 4 5x5 mid-bass driver under the back seats of my SUV. The question is, will a mounting board be sufficient or should I build an enclosure that'll fit nicely under the back seat?

I did 2 of the big three on my car, the alt. to battery wire and the battery to body ground, both with 4ga wire. I didn't replace the battery to engine ground because the stock wire looks 4ga already. It seems now like there's either no effect or even worse voltage drop and dimming than before. Any input on what may be wrong. Do I need to shorten the wires more there is a few inches of slack, or maybe replace the stock 4ga wire any I did the right wires right?

well i purchased a 100.2 then plans changed a bit i should have got a 100.4 but im going to work with the 100.2 run down Vehicle: 1994 gmc sierra Subs: 2 SD1 12's V1's Amp: SAX-100.2 Comps: Image dynamics ctx65cs the dilemma running in tri-mode essentially runs the same frequency to the subs and components. i already have everything on a subsonic filter below 30hz. now i need to keep the subs from playing above about 90 hz and the comps from playing anything below around 60hz. i cant use the EQ that im using for a subsonic filter because when i try to filter for the comps its just going to kill the bass. so im going to have to make some crossovers i quess heres a pic of …

so im back, still trying to understand this whole audio thing lol. havnt had much time to look into it but i had an ohm question i thought i might be able to get a easy to understand answer of... basicly from what ive been reading and such, unless im mistaken which is why im asking here, a 1 ohm amp goes to a 2 ohm sub and a 2 ohm amp will go to a 4 ohm sub? and is there some sort of converter that allows you to go 1 ohm to converter to a 4 ohm sub? or have i just confused everyone and should keep reading lol?

Ok I was just wondering I have always heard of ways people have tried to make there cars louder by doing simple things not really involving more power or better subs. one I can think of off hand is to bolt your box down to your car because if the box vibrates it makes you lose bass. I know I have heard of more just cant think of them. If anyone has any of them they would like to list and if there is actually any support to back them up let me know just thinking of little things to do or add to my car for no good reason.

Well I was down in Florida visiting my dad and this event just happened to be going on. So I was there. I did IASCA bass boxing tied for 5th doing 146 in a 60 second run. To bad bass boxing doesnt take watts into consideration the guy that beat me was running about 5000 watts of more power only doing a 150.1. Didnt see to many Sundown setups there. This would be my first time getting an extra battery with a system and i have only a little knowledge on how to wire this. I am going to receive my AQ2200d and will be upgrading my stock alt to a 200A one and getting a yellowtop. So how am I supposed to wire all of this? Yeh it only took me since april to put my system together and now everything is getting installed yeh baby. I've got my Saz1500d powering 2 Fi SSD 12's and a sax100.4 powering Focal 165vrs and 130cvx's. I got the jl audio 1/0 wiring kit all powered by a yellow top optima I'm having sound advice do everything including the big 3. And finally my Avic F90BT has come. I will provide pics soon hopefully it's funny I couldn't sleep well last night I was like a little kid on Christmas eve.

Hi guys, I just receive my Power Master Batteries 2x D3100 which will be installed each side in the trunk and 1x D5100 in the front not installed yet because i've cut the trunk floor which i will modified it so i can get more room for an ported box and to hold the 2x D3100, but I'm looking for an shop to do that job (steel job and welding) And for wires I'm thinking of 4x runs of 1/0 gauge KnuKonceptz from front to the D3100's in the back, 2 runs for each D3100's and from there 1x 1/0 awg and 1x 4awg for 1x MD-21 and 1x MD3D at each sides. hi, I just got a Kenwood DVD player with monitor (KVT-819 DVD) and when i tested it, i do get the sound but the screen is not showing any video. It is still at the playback menu but i see no buttons to press to show the movie. anyone familiar with Kenwood DVD player? thanks.

One of my friends wants a sub but cant spend more then $200 bucks. He has an after market head unit so no need for a converter. So I was thinking its about $40 for the wiring kit I have an old image dynamics 12 in a huge ported box just laying around I can sell him so he just needs an amp he has around $100 left to spend on one so any ideas on the best $100 amp let me know.

i have this http://cgi.ebay.com/TSUNAMI-RDS9100-UNIVER...1QQcmdZViewItem and i hooked it up today but it says my voltage is 8.7 when i go back to the amp it says 14.05 anyone know what could be wrong? when i check my wires that go to the tsunami connector and put my dmm on the pos and neg it reads 14 but not on the unit. i bought this brand new 4 or so months ago and dont have the packaging or anything. and i cannot seem to find the manual online anywhere.... today i hooked it up to just my starting battery and it still was reading 8.7 any help is appreciated.
