So i got a double din installed on my car and after about a month my system would just randomly turn off(headunit would power off and same with subs and amp) it did it once then would reboot. I took it in they changed the wire harness and the ground. It fixed it for about 2 days i then decided to change my negative battery cable and that fixed it for a few months and then it came back and i noticed that with the head unit turned off that there was a bass note from the subs playing real faint until i turn the bass knob it gets louder. What could be the issue on why my head unit turns off by its self faulty head unit, bad amp need help asap.

So im in the process of a new build. Ive had a Skar VVX15 and DC Lvl4 18. Def loved the DC more. ( just sold that ) but its so expensive for me to get multiples. For this new build i want to do either 15s or 18s for sake of its cheaper to get louder (meaning price of 1 18s is cheaper than 2 12s of equivalent specs) So my question is what kinda ideas you guys got! At least doing 2 subs. maybe 4 if i can afford. Not sure on Power ( currently have a SAZ1500v1 but wanna upgrade to 3-4k) I have a 99 jeep grand cherokee...willing to cpillar wall......GO! any questions just ask! thanks guys

I've been searching for the past hour. And I have found many tones, but they're all protected by Quick Time Player and I can't download them! I've tried google, and I've tried searching the forums here, but I get seemingly random results that have nothing to do with the words I entered into the search... I have a friend with the truck above, he wants to keep the factory h/u and look. My 1st thought was a Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.1 to handle that duty, buts it kind of an expensive route to take unless I pick it up off ebay or a similar place. Sub wise we're going with the Soundsplinter RL-i 8 either dual 4 or single 4, dependent on amp choice he makes. Planning on ported, but what size box/port area/vent size do you recommend?? Amplifier choices so far are as follows, JBL GTO 601.1, Alpine MRP-M500, Alpine PDX-1.600, Kicker ZX500.1, Rockford Fosgate R500-1, and any others you can recommend, any suggestions on anything I've stated so far would greatly be appreciated. I recently installed a Pioneer Premier 490iB in and 01 accord. The install kit had a wire for a dimmer (orange w/ white stripe) and an illumination wire (orange) the Pio HU only has an orange illumination wire. So I combined the two together and now my friends dimmable dash lights do not work. I have googled this to death, found a few topics with the same problem but none with an answer... So I went back in an just snipped the dimmer wire away from the illumination wires but the problem still remains. I really don't see how the dimmer is controlled through the headunit. I could have possible blew a fuse when I wired it like I did but I went through all the fuses I could …

well i was messing around with the amp and i had only one of the L5 subs on hmm bass bust XD, after 1 minute i smelled something weird "it smells like chicken no wait its the sub" so after turning it down i found out that got blown now i ask is there any recone kit for them or the sub its done already i kind of got them for free so no sad feelings. i live in san antonio maybe i can take it to a shop i dont feel like spending 80 on shipping thats worth more than the sub oppps sorry place this in wrong area

With the sale on Flatline amplifiers, it's hard not to resist asking if upgrading is worth it... I currently have a Soundqubed 1200.1 powering my SSA Icon 15 d2 in a sealed 2.6 ft^3 box. Will there be any noticeable difference in loudness? Will this amp provide enough headroom in case I purchase another Icon 15 in the future? Any information would be helpful since there isn't much data on these amps. Thank you

Well, I have finally got a "newer" version of my dream car, a dodge charger. I have no real clue what to do when it comes to audio. I have pretty much always had Best Buy style stuff in my vehicles, last one being 2 RF P3's ported. I want something that will take as little room as possible and still get loud, lookin more at LSQ. I was thinking about doing maybe a 15 or 2 using an IB setup, but have never really seen a IB build and am not sure where to start. I do know that I have to sound deaden the entire trunk. My soft top Jeep wrangler has been burglarized 4 times now at my crappy apartment complex. The thieves have never stolen anything valued over $30 but I'm tired of feeling violated. So, I've been pondering this a while now... Why is it that the majority of home theater or home stereo drivers are designed for higher nominal resistance? Would the main reason to use 16 or 8ohm loads vs. 4ohm loads be to keep THD ratings down at the amplifier? If so, is this primarily just a result ipso facto of engineer marketing? THD ratings of 0.00000000001 into a 16ohm load sell's $1800 home amplifiers.

im planning to build 4 15" RE SRX on a toyota 1983 corolla DX.. the car is very small, and for me to fit them is to build a wall.. the car was used for racing and is in pretty bad shape.. so what i did to make fit the 4 15" was to make a new flat form for the boxes to stand on.. a new rear wall to have a flat surface.. now im building the box for the 4 15s.. the problem is. the car its self is pretty small.. and for me to build an independent box for the each 15 and go ported i need a bigger space but it seems i can only get 1.8 cubic ft. for each 15s. so i plan to go sealed on the 15s 2 subs in one common chamber.. what would cause these subwoofers to have cancellation? …

when i think about the next setup i want, I just dont know what i want because i listen to a lot of double bass and rap. Is there a type of enclosure that has acoustically accurate response appropriate for rock but also has the ability to get low? low meaning like 30 hertz ish. Haven't heard many ported setups other than my own on rock, and they always sound like shit compared to a sealed box. But I don't actually know if its because of my box, or because its an spl sub, etc. anyone have any advice? EDIT: I'm talking about subs just incase anybody didnt realize this

So in the future, about spring time, I am going to be upgrading to 2-15" NS in my car powered by 2-SAZ2000 strapped amps. So I will be pushing about 4000rms at 2ohm and now i am looking at which batteries to purchase. Here are the 2 which i found, either 2- XS2700 or 2- kinetik hc2400. My question to you is what would you use? XS or Kinetik? the price for the 2700 and hc2400 are about the same, on ebay and ssa. i am leaning towards the XS myself. but i have LOTS of time to think about it! please feel free to make some suggestions to other batteries but please keep in mind space limitations of 13"x6.7". I have a question, it might sound stupid but i've been wondering about it for a while. its about a damplified trunk versus one that isnt. Of course, when a sub makes a sound (namely bass) in a trunk that isnt so sturdy, or the subs just hit really hard, it makes a rattling. Does the sound (bass) that is emitted from the trunk rattle, actually lost bass? Like the sound is converted into that shitty noise rather than transfering into the cabin, and hearing a more pleasant bass? And if a trunk gets damplified (thats just the wording i use ), the dampening mat does a job of stopping that noise, but does it just do that? What i mean is, it'll stop the rattle, but will the bass…
