i recently bought an 04 mustang gt.. didnt realize that the trunk is really limited on space. has room for a decent size box but getting it in would be trouble because the opening isnt very big either.. i have an audioque 2200 and a dual 2 ohm solo x 10.. anyone who has done a build in a mustang 99-04 please help me out.. im tryin to design a box that will fit but still be large enough for the X... or would it be best to sell it and get some sa-8s or something similar

I'm looking to get terminal rings for when I do the big 3. Where do you guys find ones big enough to go over the battery terminal for 1/0 cable? Is it worth getting one of those fancy battery terminals that can accept two runs of wire? Where would be a good place to find those. This thread can also be used to post websites etc. of where you get your nuts bolts and goodies from. Thanks, Jeremy

This is the follow up to my last thread that got a bit jumbled and confusing. I decided it was the best plan to go active for my 1991 S10 single cab install as M5 suggested. I went ahead with the purchase of a Memphis X03 crossover, the Mli-65 mids, and the North D25 tweeters. I now have all the parts on hand and from the look and feel of everything I'm VERY happy with the components. The crossover though made in china is good and heavy, the only complaint I have on it is there are only 2 markins on each frequency knobs. The MLi-65 are SUPERBLY built, the grilles are very sturdy, the baskets are cast, the cones are thick pulp, and the surrounds are rubber. I really …

im about to be building a pretty big box that will be housing some serious drivers. i wanted to know which one would be the best option, nails or screws? ive always finished nailed all my boxes together but i also put liquid nail on everyone of them. the walls of this sub box will be 1.5" thick. so would it be best to screw them together? i just hate how long it takes to screw it all, thats why i prefer nails

I want to put my 10o in the room for HT use.....but the spot i have picked out for it it a lil close to the tv....and putting the sub there doesn't create a lot of friendship between the two...is there any way to shield the enclosure/driver so i can use it there....? i can always relocate it....i'm just asking cause i really like how it looks there

I picked up a pair of Xplode 10" subs on Friday for $15 Anyone have any specs for a box that will make these tolerable? I have 100wrms to go to each, it's in a college dorm. I have them isobaric on a bazooka tube for now, and it's okay, but drops real quiet below 40hz. I don't need it loud, just low. Note: I know, they're sonys.

i have two blown CVR's......they still play a little, like when you put 250 or more watts through them them sound decent. how much are they worth?

I would like to build a ported enclosure for a single 12. I'm ok with building it but I'm not to positive on figuring port displacement and tuning and I figured someone here could probably help. I want the box to be 2 cu ft after port and sub displacement tuned to 32-33 hz, double baffle, sub and port firing at the trunk. I want to have quite a bit of trunk space with the box and amp in there. I measured what space I'd like to utilize and came up with 16-17" tall(preferably 16) x 24-26" wide x 16-17" deep, is that big enough for size box I'm wanting? Does anybody know where I can get battery terminals that will take 2 1/0 gauge wires.

I went to my first car audio competition over the past weekend. I finished first in my division ( amatuer). It was a neat experience. I scored well for my first show and met some really cool people. I got some help from a world champ sound quality guy. He brought out an RTA, we talked and tuned for about 2 hours before I got judged. Learned alot just in the short amount of time. Was all in all great time. Also wanted to thank M5 for his input and sharing knowledge. Cant wait till the next show, I can attend. This may be the start of a real addiction LOL!!!

does anybody know when a bass comp will be close to shreveport or some where around that area?

I have a whine sound i my front speakers, sorta like an alternator whine . It get a little louder with motor rpms. But here is the odd thing, it only does it when car is really hot and when i take it out of garage and its hot. If its night time or cool outside and car has been seting outside no noise. Any ideas on what it could be? oh and its only two of the four channels on the amp making noise.

this is the first time ive seen or heard of this......but my d-block is melting........i recently put in some rl-i 8s, turned the gain up a little bit, didnt change anything else. the amp itself is not getting any hotter, but the end of the fuse and the base under the connection to the 8awg is bubbling. what is causing this and what can i do about it? the amp is a diamond d3400.2 subs: rli 8" d4 running 4awg to the fused d-block *konfused d-block* and 8awg after it my DMM is currently MIA otherwise i would test my current draw on the amp

I want to set up my new, (refurbished actually but it's new to me) Sundown SAZ-1000D right, so I need some legit test tones. First question: What tones do I need? I know I'm looking for a 50Hz tone to set the gain, but is that a "50Hz sine wave" or "50Hz mono-tone"? I've seen both, so I'm confused. Square waves? Sine waves? I have a very loose grasp on these things, but I think that a square wave=clipping and a sine wave shows the maximum gain setting before clipping... I'm so confused... Recently i've only been able to play my mids and highs... whenever i turn on the sub my mids and highs will turn off and all u here is very distorted bass from the subwoofer. Now at first i thought it was a ground issue but i checked all of the grounds and they seem to be alright

ive been blabbering about it for months.ive done my comparisons and looked at these and looked at those and ive finally decided that i am going with Audioque...sooo i bought a single audioque sdc2.5 10... if this subs lives up to my expectations then ill be buying 7 more very soon...yes i said 7 for a total of 8...these will eventually be walled off in my truck but for now theybe going in my current box.which is a design by Pete at hexibase.ill build a a few different boxes for it and test them all.. pics and updates when it arrives...im on my last leg when it comes to 10inch subs so i hope this works out..

Alot of people on this forum ask what vehicle a setup is gonna go into as a factor for selecting what kind of equipment they recommend. What I would like to know is, Are there certain vehicles that are better suited for a certain application? I.E. Vans for SPL? Cars for SQ? I know my question is pretty vague but I guess what I'm asking is, is there a direct relationship from the amount of air displaced by the sub to the amount of air in the cab of the vehicle to achieve maximum spl or sq? I have 2 alpine type R 15's. They are both dual voice coil 4 ohm. I wired them both in parrell to get a 1ohm load to the amplifier. My question is I have a 1500 watt class ab 2ohm stable amp until i can get anotha amp. Can i still hook up my 15's even though it will be 1ohm load.
