this is the first time ive seen or heard of this......but my d-block is melting........i recently put in some rl-i 8s, turned the gain up a little bit, didnt change anything else. the amp itself is not getting any hotter, but the end of the fuse and the base under the connection to the 8awg is bubbling. what is causing this and what can i do about it? the amp is a diamond d3400.2 subs: rli 8" d4 running 4awg to the fused d-block *konfused d-block* and 8awg after it my DMM is currently MIA otherwise i would test my current draw on the amp

Does anyone know or have imfo on which full size four door pickup has the most room under the rear seat? Or which one is easier to install subs under rear seat? Looking at 2008 and newer. I'm shopping for trucks and what subs and equipment that will fit plays a big role in the decision.

well i just recently moved and had no intrawebz or cable for 3 days and well, i got damn bored. so i put some stuff together that i had laying around and well created me a hybrid perhaps? lol. i had my 04 XXX motor sitting around and well from my previous SX12 i still had the cone/coil assembly just hanging out. so i decided to put them together. the coils still threw a reading from the SX12 and everything was still in tact, the cone, spider. surround. right now it has new leads and spider is being glued to the basket. tomorrow i will take a 2.2cu sealed box i have set for a 15 and mount a new baffle over the original to accomodate the 12. i'm going to also cut 3-4, four …

  16. This is the follow up to my last thread that got a bit jumbled and confusing. I decided it was the best plan to go active for my 1991 S10 single cab install as M5 suggested. I went ahead with the purchase of a Memphis X03 crossover, the Mli-65 mids, and the North D25 tweeters. I now have all the parts on hand and from the look and feel of everything I'm VERY happy with the components. The crossover though made in china is good and heavy, the only complaint I have on it is there are only 2 markins on each frequency knobs. The MLi-65 are SUPERBLY built, the grilles are very sturdy, the baskets are cast, the cones are thick pulp, and the surrounds are rubber. I really …

I just ordered (2) FI SSD and I'm wondering how big I should go on the box. I want to get the most I can out of the subs. They will be powered by my sundown SAZ 2500d. The biggest dimensions I would like to go are: 44w x 36d x 25h. The 36d gives me about 7 inches from the hatch door. The FI website calls for 3-4 cubes a piece at 33 hz. How big do you think I should go? What tuning frequency? Any help is appreciated.

Alright I need your help again...but this time i did some research before so hopefully my questions shouldn't anger anyone. I have been doing some research on the history of car audio subwoofers and the progression of technological advances with wiring amplifiers and other stuff. But could someone please help me make a short version of it. I need to creat a section for my imc plan. Not quite sure what to include in it. lik i want to start with the first sub-woofer..how did it work....then explain the newest most advanced and compare the two. just want some insight before i start.

Electrical will consist off: - two runs of positive 1/0 (one from alt, one from batt) - three runs of ground to chassis in 1/0 (in the trunk) - yellow top in the front - NSB 75 in the trunk - stock alt Will the subs take the power daily? Goal is to make a 39.9 bassrace machine.

I just got a 05 explorer and i want to put a new system in it. I have a good budget but nothing to crazy. I have 2 Re Audio SX 12in Subs that are going in there and My Kenwood head unit. Besides that i sold everything. I am willing to sell my JL amps ( 2- 500/1 and a 300/4). I would like about 750rms going to each sub. I liked my cdt audio components i used to have but i don't know which ones would be best for the money or to get a different brand... i am open to all ideas. I was wanting to put 2 sets of 6.5's and a extra set of 5.25 or 4.5's in the front ,but its just an thought. What do you think????

ok i have my big 3 done with kicker hyper flex and a kinetik hc1400 in the back. i used to run a us amps md2d wired to 1.33 ohms and never had any problems at all with the lights dimming. now i have my precision power 850.1 running a sundown sa and i noticed when i was in town other night , that at higher volumes my lights blinked a little but nothing too major. i just thought this was weird because the md2d never caused this. i have 4 gauge ran to the amp.. i have the gain set a little over 1/4. its running at 1 ohm. ssf set to about 30 and lpf somewhere around 80. bass boost on the amp and head unit off. any suggestions on how to stop this besides gettin a new alterna…

But here is the odd thing, it only does it when car is really hot and when i take it out of garage and its hot. If its night time or cool outside and car has been seting outside no noise. Any ideas on what it could be? oh and its only two of the four channels on the amp making noise.
