So, I've finally come to the realization that it's quite cumbersome having a large, complex stereo. My original goal was to have adequate equipment for 3-way active frontstage plus substage....but the fucking gear just doesn't fit in my trunk the way I'd prefer. I want to maintain as much trunk space as possible plus have access to my spare....and it's just not working out well. Too much equipment, not enough space. So, I'm contemplating some potential system revamps/simplifications. I currently have (of importance to this question) an Alpine 9860, H701, two JBL GTO75.4II's and a GTO1201.1II [all of which are fucking huge], and for the substage two JBL 2241H's (18"). …

Looking over my setup, now that it is out of my car, I have a question just because I want to recheck myself. My setup consists of (2) 12" D2 XCON's, (2) SAZ-1500D's Strapped, and 1400 Kinetik Batterey, along with the wiring and blah blah blah. Would I want a Series/Parallel wiring setup for this, or a Parallel/Parallel? Or does it even matter?

Ok, I'm going to attempt to build a box. I was just wondering about the bracing. Basically I have two 3/4" panels I can use for bracing. Should I glue both together, to have one solid 1.5" brace. I was thinking I would mount the sub off-center, so I could put the brace more toward the center (if I do it this way). Or, should I keep the sub in the center and use a panel on both sides? Thanks for your help P.S. If you need to know specs, it will be a 15" w/ 500w in a 2 cu. ft. box

Yep uncle sam put the big old red white and blue shaft to me this year. So no new build anytime soon. Guess I'll have to use the Powerbass XL 15"s I have sitting in the closet unfortunatly they are huge air space hogs. Just need an amp. I've got my Elemental designs nine.2 running my borrowed 13ov.2s right now. It works but Not quite what I am used to or want. Just had to vent a little.

sorry for the lack of wisdom, but could somebody tell me what port noise sounds like? Because I just put my system in my car and unless i have the volume turned down to zero, my sub is constantly playing kinda loudly. Could this be how the amp settings are set?

Alright so Im gonna sound like a total fuckin newb but whatever. Kinda getting back into putting a stereo back into my truck, so i ordered some focal access 165 and a sundown sax125.2 for my front doors of my regular cab chebby p/u. My question is how do you guys like to run the wires for your front stage, in my past experiences hooking up a/b amps i have almost always ran into some kind of signal noise, ive tried running ground loops from deck to amp to battery, keeping the RCAs on the complete other side of the vehicle than the power and ground... seems like it never fixes it. so what im getting at is, what do you guys do? if anything? was i just using shitty RCA's a…

In my searches for raw drivers I came across Renaudio. Everything looks good on paper so I was considering looking into giving them a try. Has anyone ever used their drivers before? Any thoughts or opinions on their quality, sound, or customer service?

Goal is to have a SQ front stage. Plan is to have carbon mids on the doors. Tweeters will probably stick to my Bravox and add a few more. I dont want to leave my rear doors without any speakers so I will prob replace the factory and place a pair of carbon mids there. So far, I dont have plans on putting tweeters on the back doors yet. At first I wanted 8" drivers for midbass, but looks like the carbons will be able to do that job. Thats where I see them benefiting from the extra 50watts from the Leviathan. Prob going to cross them ~63hz I thinking about sticking to 2 amps for the mids/highs. My question pretty much is, what other benefits does the Leviathan have (besides …

I have a small problem, I have two plates that will be joined with Lamello biscuits at a 45 degree angle. I have found some solution that uses tape at one side, but I feel that it will not put enough pressure on the plates. Does someone know a good way to clamp them together? edit:; I forgot to mention that the end of the plates that will be used to join them together are cut at a 22,5 degree angle.

Ok starting yesterday my car began to smoke and smell like burning so I popped the hood to find nothing. I noticed that it was coming from the wheel well and ended out figuring out it was a part of some wiring that was melting very badly. It has now made it so my parking break remains on and driving again tonight it began to smell and my ABS light on my car began to flash. Any advice on what it is or what I should do.

So I was wondering what is the best way to secure an enclosure in a car ? Preferably not permanent, but so it can't be stolen or so it won't slide around. It's a 9cuft box, and its going in the back of my Jeep Cherokee.

OK this is what I have, 1-12" single 4ohm PG Xmax sub PWR 400 wavelength amp-600wrms @ 4ohms and clarion x-over pioneer deck box is 2.5cuft tuned to 30hz, with-in specs of what PG suggests. gains are set correct. This is what happens, I play a song like, Late night tip or some lil john, songs that I think hit pretty low, and SHIP does it get loud and low, but as soon as I put on anything that has hard bass, it doesn't get near as loud I mean nothing, nothing short of cranking it and adding bass boost will help, but this isn't what I want to have to do. This is in a 90 acura TRUNK not hatchback, sub facing back of trunk and the port is on the same side as the sub. my t…

Ok I was at the shop today and decided to do my FIRST hands on experience in box building. I took the old face of my box and decided to switch it out to a dual btl box. Of course I messed up a little bit. What I messed up on was the shops saw went out today on me and I decided to use a jigsaw to cut the bottom of the face (major "f" up) . So my face was a little uneven. So I plan on using bondo and resin to fix it. With the face put on the box spray painted black it is hardly noticeable, but tomorrow will test my first challenge. I will also be bracing the mess out of the box. What port should I use? I am thinking 2 or 3 aero (pvc) ports, but what size aero (pvc) ports a…
