Well I was just told that I am not allowed to install my own equipment when I get it. The reason is because of my warrenty. But I will be taking all my stuff to a car audio install place. I will try and ask them if I can watch but when I get home I'm going to be tuning it myself and double checking the wiring just in case.

hope to get some inputs for the sub. it could be a single 12", dual 12", dual 10" or a single 15". car to be designed on is a 96 accord. target is to be able to play loud but accurate. meaning it can play rap, techno/trans, soft/ballads, rock etc., still with good readings from termlab... possiblly dbdrag style yet as accurate sounding as possible. requirements: 1. box is no bigger that 3.5 cubes - so that spare tire would be accessible 2. box design can only be a wedge 2 enclosure type box - to maximize all space and still get the spare tire 3. sub would be placed facing the cabin, possibly on the back seat position for a single sub, but towards the trunk for a dual sub …

For fun: If you had to pick one brand for amp, sub, speakers who would you pick and why ? Let's say $5000 budget on one and one dream no budget build. omit head unit so more brands to pick from. SQ build and/or SPL your pick. Just for fun, curious to everyone's picks.

As simple as the title and poll makes it. They are going in a ported box in the trunk of a B8 A4. Imagine that the box is ideal size and tuned to about 33 for all options. They are being powered by a Sundown SAX-1200D. I know all of these will have the output im looking for so which would have the most SQ? Thanks for the help.

ok after a bit of research ive decided to try something alittle different then the standard 2 way with a mid and tweet. what i'd like to attempt will use a midbass with a small full range driver. current stuff equipment- Clarion DXZ785USB, kicker 100.2, kicker 250.2, pg rsd 6.5" components. door treatment- 2 layers of raammat on inner and outer, plus a layer on door panel speaker location- mids in doors, tweeters in diy a-piller pods aimed towards the middle (driver sides about 30 degrees off axis) sub stage- AA arsenal but usually i have it turned down and blended in unless im feeling like some rap... --------------- plan is to throw the biggest and baddest midbass in…

Just finished an install today on a friends car (1994 Toyota Corolla) It consists of the following: Alpine CDA 9884 2 10" Fi SSD (brand new, no options) in a 1.35 cubic foot sealed enclosure BIG 3 (4 AWG) Stock batt up front, Motomaster Elimintaor in the rear 4 AWG wiring throughout Memphis 16-MC1500D @ 2 ohms For some reason, after no more than 10 minutes of test tones (from 25hz to 40hz) at around 75% volume the amp goes in and out of protect mode. All we were trying to do was loosen the woofers up a bit. Car was started, and gains weren't even at full potential. Fuse holder w/ voltage display states that the voltage was around the 11.8V range before it went into prote…

Alright... so with the dimensions i am using for my 18" BTL, it will give very limited space for air to move around the box. I was going to fire it into the trunk, BUT it will give little air space to move around the box to get back into the cabin. Will this be a major problem? If so ill need to rethink the build.

Hey guys, i decided to upgrade from my JL 12w0. Decided to go with two sundown sa12's. need some help because im still kinda new to this. 1. the subs are dual 2 ohm. so if i buy an amp, would i wire it to 2 ohm or 1 ohm? 2. Sundown audio recommends 1.75 - 2 cubic feet. to get more out of my subs would i want a smaller box? larger box? or the recommended size? 3. i plan on getting a 1500 watt amplifier so i can send 750 rms per sub, sa12's are highly underrated in rms i heard. i am on a budget so i would like a amplifier thats relatively cheap without sacrificing alot quality. feel free to add anything, im open to all suggestions, but im solid on the subs. just thought i'd…

  16. I drive a nissan maxima, and I need a system that will be the BEST I CAN GET for my car. I'm not really crazy for competition, I just want to be be heard from far away when i drive and make sure everyone in the block heres me when i stop at a traffic light/stop sign lol. So will a FI BTL 15 on sundown 2000 in a ported box be good for that purpose or something less expensive such as 2 alpine type r 12s or 2 kicker cvr 12s in a sealed box. I also plan to fiberglass my box and raamat the shit out of my car. I am in somewhat of a budget, i dont want to go for more than $1000 for the sub(s)/amp, but i upgraded all the electricals in my car already (Optima yellow top, kinetic h…

Soo... im trying to determine the next setup. I know i am doing ZCONs. And I will be using saz-3ks. Now what I need to figure out is if I can somehow fit 4 18" zcons on 4 saz-3ks. I am thinking of a wall behind the back seats... I dont(wont) want to remove my back seat. Now im not sure exactly how much room I have back ... So I will have ro measure it out later. How many cubes do you think would suffice for 4 18" zcons ? Since I will have a little more power than recomended, the enclosurecould be on the smaller side correct? Im thinking I will have enoughroom but not entirely sure. I will be doing competitions with this setup, but itwill also be a daily driver. So I will…

well i was talking with some of my friends, and we got to talking about some stupid crap. so i decided to ask the same question. When you are listening to your system in your car, do you tend to leave it on even numbers or odd numbers? (ex. i like mine on 18) i tend to lean toward even numbers, and some of my friends will only listenin on odd numbers. what are yalls thoughts?

  23. question 1) what in the world do i use to crimp the ring terminals on my 0g wire???? or what should i say is the best and most efficient way to do it. i mean, if i have to i will go out and buy a special tool but i wouldnt even know what tool to buy because ive never seen a crimper that big. question 2) if i have two kinetiks, one in the back & one under the hood, should i ground my amps to the negative terminal or still to the chassis? and i was also wondering do i still need to send a wire from the neg. terminal on the battery in the back back to the chassis somewhere? thanks -wes

The situation: Getting my 12" BTL this weekend.. The amplifier I have currently is going to have my sub screaming for .. I'm wanting to feed it at least 2k rms. The question: Assuming I have the electrical to run 3000 watts at a stable voltage, would it be and audible difference from 2000 watts just on a daily setup? This is not for numbers at all. Simply for listening experience. I've heard answers coming from both ends.. I don't want to spend an extra 100-200$ on another 1kw if it's not going to be any louder to MY ear than 2000 watts. For those who must know the amp I have now, it's a Lanzar MAXP1200d. There are NO available RMS ratings for this amp online that I…
