  1. Big thanks to Shizzon for shipping out my meter promptly and what a great price for a rare and extremely helpful tool. Specs, 02 Camry (sunroof) Mechman 220a, 2 dekas in the rear, XS D2400 under the hood AQ... Wait, Soundcubed 3500.1 @ .7 2 BTL N2 18s, pink dustcaps which help a little on the meter. ~13 cubes at 36-37hz Not exactly completely sealed off, I used high density foam to keep the resell value of my car. Box has awful flex which I'll be fixing in a week with some steel bracing. Plenty of testing to come so I'll keep updating this thread. So far I just ran a sweep legal style and just used the same frequency outlaw. Outlaw Sealed Another outlaw score Outl…

I wasn't sure if I should put this in Music or General Audio. I think it fits in both so I just stuck it here but please correct me if I am wrong. This is probably a stupid question but... Where can I get a CD or DL anything containing 10Hz-60Hz tones? I am trying get more into SPL and I wanna start testing different ports. The reason I want so low is because I have a 20Hz port for fun . I tried Bass Mekanik but it doesn't go as low and the tones kind of fade in and out (it's weird) and I can't find anything on iTunes. PLEASE HELP lol. Thanks!

I am wondering if any one knows any company that sponsors people running car audio and doing competitions. I am currently running a sundown x12 rev 1 1250 rms d2 in a custom built box tuned to 32.5 Hz. Powering the sundown is a cadence ia9-hc 2000 Watt rms amp. Thats just the bass right now. Other upgrades are there just don't want to go on and on unless someone is interested.

Has anybody used the Cascade stuff from PE? http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=268-250 I am thinking about spraying the inside of my box with it. Just curious if it works well or if I should even use it? I would like to be 110% sure it is sealed and get rid of any resonances that might exist. What do you think?

well the show today was pretty good. Had quite a bit of SPL cars there. They had SQ cars for all classes, but only one per class so they all took 1st place. They only had one Extreme SPL car that i do have pics of and it hit i believe a 171 db. Its the Treo Car. I was running my Icon 15 in the new 4 cu ft box tuned to 40 hz with my SoundStream PCA 2000d on it wired at 1 ohm. I was actually surprised i placed 3rd in my class out of 10 competetors. the finals pics are of me, the trophy, and the paper with the ratings on it. My highest was a 143.9 db, but then again the Icon is LSQ and the testings on a good SPL box are still up in the air. Hope you guys enjoy. 1…

  16. I wasn't going to but the stock speakers have horrible cone breakup and it's driving me absolutley nuts. So I might aswell. The system has to be simple and mostly from items I already have. Space is a consideration since the vans main purpose is work (lots of tools supplies etc in the back). The Vehicle is a 1997 AWD Astro Cargo Van. 2 seats and the rest is wide open (1 parts shelf a foot or so back from the drivers seat all the way to the back doors). I'll use an RFX-8240 for source. (Maybe I'll fashion a feaux 'stock deck' face.) I have a set of old MB Quart separates 6.5" QM 160TC mids 1" QM 19HC Titanium tweets with Passive crossovers. Figure stock (door) locations …

I have heard many a system, and honestly...no system I have EVER heard sounds "bad" every system does sound different though. I have taken a TON of subs and probably gone through 12 boxes in my hatch. None of them sounded remotely bad. So, I have started to just ignore SQ, the only time I have heard a system that wasnt up to par, it was a box issue. I'll be making the ultimate test here soon. I will be doing a setup with a dB drive platinum 15, everyone I talk to says they have very low SQ. So, I'm going to throw 2000 daily to one in a good box, and SQ to a rest. -Alex

  18. I'm always looking for ways to improve my daily driver. I am not an audiophile that can tell a whole lot about staging and imaging but I do listen to alot of music that reveals the best and/or worst of a system and I do love clean output at extreme listening levels. I have been pretty happy with my Morel tweeters and Peerless 6.5" mids with passive crossovers (my favorite amp on them to date was a US Amps USA-2000 running at only 8 ohms...extremely clean with a ton of headroom. Anyone have any USA-2000x's for sale? ) Anyway...my problems have been as follows: I burned the coils in the 200w rms Morels once already and had to rebuild them...and the two 6.5 Peerless mids…

Basicly, Im starting from scratch. Active. I need some good info on which speakers I may need. It will be a 2way. With 6.5/7s and small format tweets. I need a "good" h/u that can go active. Im sorta on a budget, not a tight one, but not anything OVER 1 grand. Cheaper teh better. Lets see what we come up with.

Hello all. I have a 2002 Ford Ranger Extended Cab truck that I wanted to put a sub-stage in. I'm gonna go ported but what Dcon sub should I get? I'm gonna buy 2 of them. Also, I'm going to buy an amp to run both subs. Here's my questions... 1) Which Dcon subs should I get? DVC or SVC? 2) How big of an enclosure would I need for said sub? What should I tune the enclosure to? Each sub will have it's own box and an external port. 3) What RMS should I run each sub? The final ohm load will b 2 ohms.

So i have started my modified SQ build with a solid front stage going active with an alpine 9887 and mach5 mlis and seas neos all deadened with second skin and now i need a sub stage but i have no idea what to use. I want maybe 2 10s or 1 15 because i would like it to get decently loud but be tight . I listen to rock and rap. I also need another amp somewhere in the 600 watts rms range but im not sure what is good for relatively cheap. My total price range will probably be around 400 i don't really want to go any higher and i don't mind good used equipment. (offers also welcome) space will not be that big of a deal but where i want to build the box is under the rear …

Been a minute but I figured I'd ask. Due to a fire at my buddy of 20+ years stereo shop I got a few things out from helping him clean up (head unit and subs) All of which for the wife's truck. It will be using a pioneer 210ex for the head unit, not installed yet, but need to upgrade the front door speakers. My question is would the evils do alright off of the head unit alone? Or should I look at putting them on an amp. Possibly a set of tweeters also. But main focus is on front doors.
