so i went to hook up my set-up. got everything hooked up, but there is extremely little output from the sub. i can barely hear the bass, but if i set my hand on the sub i can feel it moving just barely. when i went to hook it up the 1st time, i forgot to unhook the battery. when i put in the power wire it sparked and the protection light flashed. then i disconnected the positive battery terminal, hooked up the ground, remote, speaker, RCA's, gains knob, power wire, then positive on battery. hooked everything up in that order. turned the HU on to 10. could barely hear the bass. and like said above when i put my hand on the sub i could feel it moving slightly. played with …

For those of you familiar with bass box pro and/or winisd, help me out here. The box is 2 cuft tuned to 30hz (12" rlp), 4" precision port When I do this calculation (Lv=((8466.4*r^2)/(Vb*Fb^2))-(1.463*r) I get a number like 15.89". Winisd gives 16.28" with end correction being .614 (is that right for 2 flared ends?) And Bass box Pro gives a length of 17.35". Which of these is correct? Or is there some other part if it I am missing? It seems as though they should all be the same length if my numbers are identical, but they obviously are not. Also, a precision port ordered from PE is 17" in length with adding the flares and not cutting anything, correct? Thanks

Just put in an order for the Boston GTA-1000M amp (not from SSA though ). This will be wired to two Dayton RSS265HO subs. I picked up two of those bnib for $110 shipped! For speakers, I will be using the Aura 6.5" comps and for power will be Aura RPM2150, both bought from parts express on their blowout sale. All I need is a deck and some wiring and I am good to go. I will start this build in May sometime when I get home from school. All this will be going in my chevy S-10 extended cab. No SSA equipment in this build, but I had deals on all this I just couldn't pass up!!

I'm really uncomfortable with this question as I dont want to feel needy. But I think a while back I seen someone say that had another member build them a box. Not sure though. But if that person did build a box I was wanting to know how much they would charge for box I need and what would be the Pickup/Shipping terms. Thanks In Advance ~MadroX *Edit* Im pretty sure I posted this in the wrong Area...... My Bad

Hey, going to build a triple amplifier rack out of 1/2" MDF. Is there a paint recommended for use with MDF, I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I didn't find much with the search. I would like it to be as chip/flake resistant as possible, would spray or roll on be best?

I was wondering what would sound louder?. One Fi bl 15 tuned to 32 hz in a 3.1 cu box firing upwards in the back of a trunk. Or 2 SA 10's in walled off trunk? And if i was to go with the 2 10's, would it be better to seal off the trunk and have the subs firing towards the front of the car, or would it be louder to wall off the trunk having a port and the subs facing the front of the car?

I like to keep tweakin test tones and have a question about something- When analyzing the test tones i generate, using a pure sine wave, i get a 30db amplitude reading. Now, if i generate a square wave, i get 32db amplitude. So... in theory, the generated square wave will produce higher levels of spl at a lower power level... But.. does a generated square wave have the same effect as a forced square wave? meaning... will the sub(s) heat up quicker even with a non-clipped signal compared to a generated sine wave? I'm assuming a generated square wave will clip sooner than a sine wave due to the increase in amplitude... I'm speculating on whether it would be worth my time …

Ok here is a serious question and I would love everyone who veiws opinion. There are three sets of 6.5'' components, you can only choose 1. Im having trouble opening my passive crossovers so I can mount them...I've tried just to lift the top half off with no luck, there doesn't appear to be anything securing the 2 halves together as far as I can see(like a screw or bolt). I've checked the manual and it doesn't explain how to do it and I have even tried e-mailing JBL with no response. Maybe someone else has these components and could help me out. Heres a pic: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/pictures_new.php?id=12260&picture_id=130473 Probably doesn't help much but I thought I'd post it anyway. How do other passive crossovers open up?

I've got enclosures fiberglassed into the rear quarter panels of my Tahoe, and can't give up any more of my cargo room. I work as a General Contractor, and frequently carry plywood and sheetrock in the back of the truck. My current Celestion AD15H's sound great with the crossover point set at 40HZ, reproduce the low frequencies with great detail, even with the measly 250 watts I'm sending them each through my Lightning Audio 500 watt mono amp (2 ohm load). The only problem, I've found that they have a tendency to "blatt" (for lack of a better term) if I up the crossover point to even 50HZ. Could this be a result of too little power, too small of an enclosure, too high (or…

First of all this is the equipment ill be talking about. Rockford Fosgate 800.2 old school (the amp that is blowing fuses) Pyle Driver Plad413 (4 channel) Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2 (DVC, 4ohm) ok I wired my subs up for the 2 channel amp like it says to do here, http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/2DVC_4-ohm_2ch.jpg but that amp kept blowing fuses so in the meantime I am using the pyle 4 channel I bought to drive my regular speakers until the fosgate gets fixed. When i wired in the pyle I left the subs wired for a 2 channel amp but hooked them up to the amp like this http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/learning…
