First, i feel like an idiot for having to ask this. But my 10 gauge klear kable from knukonceptz is confusing me a little bit. It's not one wire, but two runs that are kinda stuck together. I dont know if i'm describing it well, but i'm hoping everyone else but me knows what i'm talking about lol. One strand is a square like shape, and the strand connected to it is circular in shape. I thought maybe i was supposed to strip off both, so i did that and then twisted them together to fit in the terminal (fi bl), but no cigar. Can someone please help me? Okay well i got into car audio about 6 months ago. I recently purchased 2 Diamond D1 12's, a 2 farad 2000 watt capacitor, and Memphis pr 100.2. I have all of the above installed in the back of my girlfriends explorer because im getting all new stuff for my car in December, this was kind of a test type install. I installed everything myself. I have a chitty box that they are sitting in right now. Just getting into car audio, i wasn't sure what to look for when buying a box. I just bought one that would hold the 2 twelves, turns out the box wasn't even caulked all the way around, its sealed by the way. I recaulked the whole thing and it sounds better now. Has anybody used the Cascade stuff from PE? http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=268-250 I am thinking about spraying the inside of my box with it. Just curious if it works well or if I should even use it? I would like to be 110% sure it is sealed and get rid of any resonances that might exist. What do you think?

Any recommendations for a MDF paint primer? I would prefer the typical gray color of primers. I've heard that you need a special primer, but I wasn't sure. I did a search but most places said use primer as a general term and didn't specify a certain kind of primer or anything. I need know to smooth out and prime my old DCON boxes and also some SSA logo cutouts. Thanks

Yeh it only took me since april to put my system together and now everything is getting installed yeh baby. I've got my Saz1500d powering 2 Fi SSD 12's and a sax100.4 powering Focal 165vrs and 130cvx's. I got the jl audio 1/0 wiring kit all powered by a yellow top optima I'm having sound advice do everything including the big 3. And finally my Avic F90BT has come. I will provide pics soon hopefully it's funny I couldn't sleep well last night I was like a little kid on Christmas eve.

Helping out a friend. He currently has an alpine 9887 headunit and wants to run active. I suggested for him to get a sundown 50.4, sea neo tweeters and the mli-65 mids. He also wants to run coaxials off his headunit for the rear. Would that cause any problems other then throwing off the sound stage?

im planning to build 4 15" RE SRX on a toyota 1983 corolla DX.. the car is very small, and for me to fit them is to build a wall.. the car was used for racing and is in pretty bad shape.. so what i did to make fit the 4 15" was to make a new flat form for the boxes to stand on.. a new rear wall to have a flat surface.. now im building the box for the 4 15s.. the problem is. the car its self is pretty small.. and for me to build an independent box for the each 15 and go ported i need a bigger space but it seems i can only get 1.8 cubic ft. for each 15s. so i plan to go sealed on the 15s 2 subs in one common chamber.. what would cause these subwoofers to have cancellation? …

Ok so I hooked up some LED's in my sub box. These: http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/alm.htm (The 4 bulb ones) I hooked them up twice and they worked both times. One w/ the switch and one w/o the switch. I didn't change ANYTHING and the next day I go to hook them up after putting my sub in the box, and they don't work. Try everything, but they do not work at all. Even tried hooking them directly up to the battery (no bad connections). I think the lights are dead... I guess. My question is, did my problem come from not having the 1 amp fuse they recommend? I mean that would only blow if something bad happened, and I do not understand why the lights would die so easily…

Is it possible to send my SSA XCON dual 1 ohm in for a re-cone and have them reconfigure the sub so it is Dual 2 ohm?

So I've been listening for leaks in my new sealed box and browsing through stuff that I haven't heard in a while. A song that I've heard countless times before, Dread Rock (Paul Oakenfold, Matrix soundtrack) literally made me jump out of my seat when it hit a certain note that I've never heard before. I've had a small sealed enclosure with my single RL-i8, but it never hit sounds like this. I guess it really proves that it's all about the box... although I'm sure adding another RL-i8 (and lowering the impedance to 4ohms in the process) didn't hurt. Obviously, there are SPL setups that make the listener almost lose control of their bodily functions. I'm more interested…

Not sure how true it is, or how reliable the source is, but I heard that Power Bass and Memphis are made by the same company. Anyone know if there is any truth to this? Looking at them there are a lot of similarities...but somtimes that doesn't really mean anything.

Hey i made my box for my truck its 2.5 cu. ft per chamber and its for 2 fi q's. Im not sure exactly how to measure out how long or wide my ports need to be. Any help is greatly appreciated

I was wondering if i should do another run of wire from the alt to the bat? This is for my second alt to the batteries in the trunk. Right now i have a single T30001bd amp and a single run of 2/0 and i was looking at getting a second T30001bd amp. If i go ahead and get the second amp should i do a second run of wire?

I've been looking at posts lately of people putting 8's in there doors and have noticed that pretty much everyone seems to glass the door panel and mount the speaker to the door panel. Can the door panel be made strong enough to handle 200W of 8" midbass pounding away and not really leak around its edges?

I had my system installed about 10 years ago and I ve never really been happy with it. I finally have started diving into to the install and am not happy with very much of it as far as quality and cleanliness. I like things to look stealth and very clean. i was just wondering, how important are TS specs really? i mean if a certain number is better that others wouldn't everyone shoot for that exact number? also why don't sub companies add specs like LE? thats a pretty important spec yet you have to look forever to find it.

The anticipation is killing me. Summer days go by and I'm not bumping. How long am I looking at to receive my single zcon recone? Ordered on 6/7. I was hoping it would arrive in 2-3 weeks. Anyone have any input on how long it took for them to receive a recone?
