Ok, call me retarted. Good news : The jl w7 8's sound amazing, can't wait for the sundown amp to really give them what they need. It's all installed and the sealed box sounds greaT! Bad News : I had to run RCA cables outside the car to test my setup. I can't figure out how to take off the dash to wire my rca's. The remote wire was already in the car which made it easy to do. The car - 1992 Bmw 318i Sedan 4 door. Any ideas? I searched and took off all visible screws but no budge, am I missing something?

Hey guys Im in need of some advice. I'm currently piecing together a setup which will be in a Trailblazer SS. So far I have my two BL 15s fully loaded (newer versions), JL 0/1 awg, and will be powered by a Crescendo BC3500d. I plan on buying a mechman 240 alt, xs power 3400 for under the hood and 3100 for out back. I'll probably have car tunes build my since they did a great job last time. I'm aware I should be running dual 0/1 for the batteries so I will but what else am I missing or should also do? Currently have 12 awg for the subs, should I go bigger? Also will my battery setup work fine at idle without crazy voltage drop? What about dual amp inputs? Any help and advi…

I am planning on purchasing an Audioque HDC3 18", and I'm knowing I'm going to need to do some electrical upgrading. I currently own a 2005 civic coupe, but plan on later moving this to a dodge magnum. After my last install I learned the hard way to not be into so much of a rush and take care of some electrical upgrades first. What supplies is needed for " THE BIG THREE" and I would prefer to start off with buying batteries before I have to go all out for the alternator, knowing of course I will also need new wiring. Which brands should I be looking into as far as wiring and other needs. I believe the HDC3 18" is pretty efficient , don't want to go overpower it too too…

I've been looking around for a 12" and my fingers were looking deeply at the Fi Q, until I tried to understand what all of their options do. The information is so lacking and even misleading that I couldn't make myself to buy a from a company that produces "quality" equipment but can't even describe their options correctly. So now I'm looking at the 12" ICON. Not only have I read it's great sealed it produces great SQ I was interested with going ported with the Q but now that I think of it, I'm not willing to give up my entire trunk. Could anyone with experience with the 12" ICON, with a sedan (I drive a 2003 Accord), give me some info regarding how the SQ would be in th…

this is what i have first off. then the question. HU is a Kenwood Excelon XXV-01D, comps would be a set of Illusion LM-6 mids and rainbow tweets. amps would include a orion 8002 for the mids, and a orion 2002 for the tweets. NOW, for the quetions. seeing how the HU has a pretty good x-over on it. could i use that for the prossesing and use the front pre-outs for the tweets and the rear for the mids. (HU also has sub outs too) if that wouldn't work, what kinda prossesor should i use, what what kinda settings should i have it on. thanks.

  15. Some background: I have always been a Sundown audio and FI audio fan and those are the products I use. I purchased a 12" BL fully loaded and 1500D sundown to place in my 240sx, I have now upgraded to a 04 Acura TL. I cannot afford a new headunit as the products available are close to one thousand dollars. So, the box is built, the sub is ready, the wiring kit is sitting waiting to be installed. Now where im stuck, So, since i have the stock headunit I will need a line output converter. I am unsure how to install this and how it works. Also I am needing to disable the stock subwoofer. I have been reading about how the stock headunit lowers bass at higher volumes to protect…

I don't know how many of you know much about Thilo Stampler, TC Sounds, and Audiopulse. I recently visited thier forum(which I do on occasion) and was amazed by what a sad collection of wannabe-ghetto trash that has infested the site. You have people posting other people criminal records, "authorized dealers" spouting profanity, and the same 3-5 people posting anything anywhere they can generally bad-mouthing anyone with anything decent or intelligent to say. I feel bad for Thilo because unfortunately THIS is his public face. http://www.audiopulse.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=102

Got a few questions about my setup before i order everything so help would be appreciated. In order to prevent further displacement I'm considering adding a baffle to the outside of the enclosure. - Will this be a sufficient amount of support for the sub vs a baffle on the interior? - When using Psp.com's calculator for aeroports it asks to input "Volume of Box in Cubic Feet" is this before or after all displacements? - Can someone provide a link for instructions or a diagram on how i am supposed to wire under hood batter>trunk battery>amps - How should i wire the (2)saz1500's to (2)FI BL Dual 1 looking to get the whole 1500w to each sub individually? - Suggest a b…

Hey Jon. I want to order all my new equipment today or tomorrow but i wanted to make sure it will all fit and hookup properly i have a few questions if you knew just quick answers to any that would help alot. Setup: (2) 15" FI BL (2) Saz1500 (1) 1 trunk battery (suggestions would be great) Here's the questions... - I can only fit around 7.3 cubes before displacement so it'll come down to just under 7cubes.. This should be enough airspace since its within the recommendations of FI 3-4cubes each. (2) 6" aeroports is what i'm aiming for In order to prevent further displacement I'm considering adding a baffle to the outside of the enclosure. - Will this be a sufficient am…

I hope this isnt a stupid question but here it goes... I have watched a good amount of videos on clipping a signal and what to look for on a o-scope (square waves). I was just thinking what if the producer makes the waves square in production? I know a lot of dubstep artists do this. I do listen to it on my system and some djs / artists do make good low bass. Just wondering if this will just amplify the clipping of the already square signal made in production and damage my system (like clipping any other signal). <- go to about 1:40 to about 2:04 to see what I mean. He will show the signal...examples: <-- bass is WAY squared off in this songhttp://www.youtube.…

During my night shift last night noticed the Nakamichi PA-1500 was the same price as the Soundqubed Q1-1200D. Is the Nakamichi the same quality it is famous for? Are they at the same level quality wise as the Q1-1200D or even better ? I've read how awesome Nakamichi was in the day but having troubles finding up to date info on the quality of there products? Also anyone hear the SPW-1210 their 12' woofer ? Any good compared to say Fi Q12 or SSA ICON 12? How are their components ? Any information on Nakamichi would be appreciated as the prices seem to be very cheap atm and I'm thinking quality might have gone down as well. Their 4 channel amp any good too? They claim to be…
