Sup good people, I'm almost done with my installation...maybe another week or two, depending on my schedule. I've routed the power cable on the passenger side, the audio connects down the middle and all the speaker wiring along the driver's side. Now, I've built an amp rack to hold a DA D152 with the crossovers just to the left and right of it. The speaker wires going to the crossover that sits to the right of the amp will have to cross the power and ground cables. I can't believe I've gotten this far and totally forgot the rule about about keeping speaker wires away from power cables. My question is, will I definitely have audible interference? I heard/read somewhere th…

do you feel that satellite radio, either XM or Sirius is worth the $13 a month? what about the qualities and features of the receivers? cost of them? what do you look for in a receiver? what would you like in a receiver? is the sirius s50 worth the msrp tag of $350 (or so)? i have a few thoughts, but need some input. there could very well be a new receiver on the market soon....lol....with a nice kick to it. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I have gotten a copy of Disc 4 from a set that was sold on SD. It has polarity tracks, left and right channel test track, test tunes and a whole bunch more. A good test CD if anyone is looking. I will make copies at 7$ and mail the USPS, hopefully shipping them like Blockbuster does won't break them. Anyone interested?

Allright, I need a break from working on my kick panels so I thought I would get to thinking about my next project. And being completely different I thought this might be fun. I have until spring to help my frugal friend put a stereo in his boat (21' Chris Craft). He already has a HU and a older fosgate amp 50x4. I have a pair of JL 10w4-0 subs that I will let him use for a reasonable price. The boat is used exclusively on Lake Minnetonka, most of the time the boat is tied to a line of other boats in the 20-30' range. Having the stereo that can be heard well behind the boat and sideways accross other boats allows you to be the one to choose the music--a must if I am …

I have done some searching and can't seem to find a post anywhere that addresses what people like to listen to during the setup of their front stage--not the subwoofer. What CD's or tracks do you guys prefer for setting up the angles of your front speakers and to generally test the imaging and staging of your setup?

  22. Ok, I don't know anything about home audio to start out with, so keep that in mind with your responses please. Ok I have 2 RE, RE 12's (DVC 4ohm) and a pair of CDT EF-61 6.5" components (05 model) I would like to make a dorm room setup, yes to make matters worse, the signal is coming out of a COMPUTER. I have a M audio 5.1 sound card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16829121122) This is the card if you are wondering. Ok, I am wondering what type of enclosure to put (I am thinking only one of the RE's) in. I can build anthing out of wood that I need to, just don't have much experience about the finer aspects of box building, but a wood shop is noth…

  24. i've got a nine.1 for my 12's, and an orion 8004 im going to power an alumapro alc 6.2 component set with. im planning on running the mids off 2 channels and the tweets off the other 2. im thinking of buying these rca's http://cgi.ebay.com/Stinger-4-Channe...QQcmdZViewItem but i didnt know if it was cool to use a 4 channel set like that with 2 of them running the components (split with a stinger helix y cord on each one, so the mids and tweets will both be playing the front channel) and the other 2 used for the bass on the nine.1. they should be fully shielded so this is cool right? also how do i want to wire the amp up? i just bridge 2 of the channels with the 4 ohm mids…
