ok so im pretty much a newbie to the audio world i have a 1996 jeep cherokee with only front door speakers and i have bigger alt and bat, and i listen to rap, metal, country, everything, and i want a nice sounding system, i will need a deck with aux port, and speakers that sound clean and clear, and a single sub, i dont need to break windows lol, so if you guys have any suggestions let me know, i would like to keep it under $900. thanks

Hey if i order this dual alt kit and one of their H/O alts from DC power, could i run it along with my stock alternator to the same batterys? or would the higher charging voltage mess it up or do anything like that?

Just curious if anyone has ordered any items from this company before? I ordered a beanie from them around Christmas time and it arrived quickly . I ordered a sweat shirt from them in early February and my item has still not arrived. I have e mailed them 2 times and all I have gotten is the automatic response. Not sure what to think about this company...

Has anyone had problems getting their orders from fi? I ordered two ssd's on the 10th and they initiated shipping process on the 15th, but has never sent it out. Just wondering if that's typical or not. Anybody with fi experience please let me know.

The stereo i currently own is an Audiophase model CD188. I opened it up today to get back a screw for my glasses that fell in through the cd tray, and while i was looking around i found three knobs on the main circuit board; little small metal cube with a circle cutout on top, with a colored knob inset inside. Being as curious as i am, i was about to start messing with them but thought i'd ask what they could do, before i blow something up. Note: i googled the model number and brand and only got two results. One is blue, one is orange, and one is yellow. i cant the friggin usb cord for the camera so no pics for now.

Anybody ever deal with taking the dash out on one of these? I'm trying to install my single din radio (not sure if single din's possible) and i'm afraid to just rip off the dash like I used to do with my 2001.

So i have tried searching and couldn't find anything specific about what kind of bolts to use for bolt terminals and how to install them. I usually run the wire right threw my box but i want to try some terminals this time. I tried looking for copper because copper is a good conductor but i could not find any. So what is the next best kind of bolts to use? How do you screw them on? I was thinking about putting some t nuts in the box on the inside and screwing my ring terminals into those then attaching the wire on the outside with bolts. any input would be greatful.

What I want to do is hook the speaker outs from my amp to my computer with some adapter to see exactly what frequencies are present between the crossover points. This way I won't have to guess where 2500hz is on a lpf/hpf knob that is only labeled with 500 and 5000hz. I want to visually see the range on a db/hz plot. Is there a program like I described above? What's the name of it? Is there a device that will accept the + and - speaker wire and convert them to a stereo connection for the mic input on my computer? Would this just be a regular adapter that connects the - to one lead and the + to the other lead of the stereo connection? This is to help get starting points my…

I got these a few days ago to replace a set of Infinity Reference components and they sound pretty dang good. Big Big Big improvement. The only problem I have is the output is way down compared to the 2 ohm rated Infinity, which ain't a bad thing because they were very harsh to my ears, but the Bostons are having a hard time keeping up with my sub bass with only 60 watts on them. I am sure they would love some more power and probably wake up and really shine. Details........ The Bostons are rated @ 3ohm and 125w rms and I have a Rockford Forgate 450.4 amp that puts out 60w RMS x 4 @ 2 ohm, 100w x 4 @ 2ohm, and 225w x 2 bridged @ 4ohm. At what frequency does a tone go from unidirectional to omnidirectional? Im considering doing a wall build. I could fit 2 -12" or possibly 4-10" midbass pa speakers behind the seats to use strictly for midbass to keep up with the subs and the 4 pairs of 6.5's I have in my front doors. I know this isnt the best way (sq wise) to go about doing it but i really love strong midbass and it has been something i have been lacking for quite some time now.

Hey I'm doin a build for a guy. He wants a fiberglass console. I am trying to see what materials I am going to need. (mdf, resin, and fleece.) Is that all? Also when I build the box do I just bulid the skeleton, stretch the fleece over it, and paint on the resin? I've bbuilt several boxes but never done much fiberglass so all info is appreciated.

Is there a big difference between going with slot port or an aeroport?

I currently have a 12" FI BL in my car with a US Amps MD1D. I am looking at maybe putting another one in and I have a few questions. How big should the box be? FI recomends 2.5 cu. for one so when you have 2 do you double that? I have a dual 2 ohm so I would get another dual 2. I have a Hifonics 1206D sittin around so should I use that or buy a amp that is .5ohm stable? Like a Lazar Opti2000D. Or a big amp that can give around 2000 watts at 2 ohm. Would I need a bigger alt. current one is 120amps and I have a Kinetic 1400 batt. in the front and am going to look into getting a smaller batt. for the trunk.

SIIIIIIIKE lol. I made this in my InDesign class (one of my throwaway classes to fill my schedule up)and I think it actually turned out decent. DON'T HATE on the Meade picture, I needed a face-offy picture and that one was perfect. Just thought I'd throw this up here since it has SSA references on it. It's supposed to be folded up like a DVD/Blu-ray cover before anyone asks about the random title in the middle of it.
