Hi, I drive a 2007 Ford Fusion and I am having some trouble finding a better alternator, could anyone give me a few places I could look that might have one for me? I plan on running a 18" Fi BTL with Kicker ZX2500.1 and maybe 2 batts. Also about what size alternator should I be looking at? Thanks for any input

I currently have a 12" FI BL in my car with a US Amps MD1D. I am looking at maybe putting another one in and I have a few questions. How big should the box be? FI recomends 2.5 cu. for one so when you have 2 do you double that? I have a dual 2 ohm so I would get another dual 2. I have a Hifonics 1206D sittin around so should I use that or buy a amp that is .5ohm stable? Like a Lazar Opti2000D. Or a big amp that can give around 2000 watts at 2 ohm. Would I need a bigger alt. current one is 120amps and I have a Kinetic 1400 batt. in the front and am going to look into getting a smaller batt. for the trunk.

  6. So I've been listening for leaks in my new sealed box and browsing through stuff that I haven't heard in a while. A song that I've heard countless times before, Dread Rock (Paul Oakenfold, Matrix soundtrack) literally made me jump out of my seat when it hit a certain note that I've never heard before. I've had a small sealed enclosure with my single RL-i8, but it never hit sounds like this. I guess it really proves that it's all about the box... although I'm sure adding another RL-i8 (and lowering the impedance to 4ohms in the process) didn't hurt. Obviously, there are SPL setups that make the listener almost lose control of their bodily functions. I'm more interested…

  8. I built the box that my SSA 12" Icon is in right now originally for my 12" RD Alpha V2, which the box is 2.3 cubes tuned to 33hz. Just the basic "L" shaped port. I found an ad on KSL for a box build that said he could build me a custom ported box for $250, when I know if I can get help from you guys that I could build it for less than half that, plus he said that "You should probably go with two 10" subs since the 12" subs have a harder time keeping up" which made me really want to do my own box and not this joker. I listen to mostly techno, rap, hip hop, and heavy metal. Should I basically build the same box again or should I build a different box? I want a box that will…

I have my kenwood excelon 4 chan mounted in front of my sub and port... I think the vibration is the reason I had to get the digital processor replaced on the amp and kept giving strange errors on the display. we tried larger head screws and my next option is rubber washers to stop the amp from vibrating so much. or would it be smart just to forget about the amp and jump on the pre order for the sundown 100.4. has anybody ever heard of that problem before?

I love when you have somebody pull up next to you with a "wally world" system and you completely drown them out. Here in Memphis,TN there seems to be so many weak systems that it is almost fun just to cruise around. Though there are the select few that are sounding great !!!

What do I have to consider about the box design and sub placement and bracing to have the ports on the rear of the box? The reason I ask cause subs would be side and there wouldnt be too much room for the ports if they went next to the outsides of the subs in my trunk. Also are there any benefits to a single chamber push pull ported box? Downsides? What if in the same box, the speakers are on opposite planes- one in back, one in front? I cant find ANYTHING like this on this on google and want to know why.

ok so ive been wanting to re-do my setup for some time now in me 2000 chevy blazer 4 door. as of now i have (had) 4 RF p3 12's and a t1500. i now have a sundown 3500 and want to move on to some higher quality subs. now heres my dilema, i wanna compete in meca shows but the rules state that my box cant be over the back of my seat. now ive been looking for 2 "small ported box" 15's that i can pound on. my buddy has 2 american bass hd 15's in a blazer xtreme doing a 147-148 and hes in my class but i dont like the hds. i need some suggestions on what kind of subs i can get to be louder than him but still haave a fairly small ported box. my max dimensions would be 37.5 x 16 x …

Alright, so since i have nothing but time on my hands i was looking around at the IASCA rule book, and im considering i might be competing after my nice long Canadian winter. Id be in the Rookie 2 section. (Single Fi BTL 18 N2). Now, i saw a rule that all subwoofer enclosures / ports need to be in the cargo area. My original plan was to have my two 6" Aero ports going through the 6x9 slots in my rear deck. So heres my solution. Since aero ports are lovely and are able to be removed, i was thinking of making much shorter, like 5" in length aero ports for competitions. Giving me like a 45 hz tune or something. Geez thinking about competitions when i havent even insta…

I have a 1985 chevy el camino. I am contemplating on what to put in it for subs. the measurements I have for room are 20 wide x 10 high x 18 roughly deep and I can put one of these boxes on each side of the tranny hump. So i am stuck between a 8"and 10" sub for each side. I really liked my uncles 12w7 in a 2.25cube box tuned to 32 with a jl1000. I have a Rockford Fosgate t10001bd amp. I have put a 140 amp altenator in my car my stock one was 58amps. So my amp power should be good. What is a good pair of 8s or 10s that will fit in the space that I have ported that will hit like my uncles 12w7.

Ok so I understand what an RTA is and all that jazz. I googled for an RTA program to purchase and came up with a lot of sites that sell programs. My question is, what's some good programs you guys have used/had experience with that you could recommend me. Or are they pretty much all the same with few minor tweaks here and there.

Well i can hear the Bl is reeking havoc on my box when it hits the low notes i can hear an air leak even with a monster port. Thing is id like to be able to have to option to move from one 15bl too two down the road. Question is do i build 2 separate boxes and just leave one out for now or do i make say a 8+cuft box and run one in it for now. I don't think that would work considering the port area would be to large for just the one sub right? Anyways i got a 21.5xin40inx26in (HxWxD) space to work with and i can barley manage it but i can get two 21x20x26 boxes with 4.01cuft after displacement and tuned to 32hz in there. what do you guys think i should do?
