well i had some time to mess around with things today in the gf's car (05 grand am) and got to taking apart the doors. to my suprise the stocks are 4x6's and not the 6.5's i assumed they were . didnt really want to get to involved with it as i said, its the gf's car. think some decent 4" or 4x6's with amp would be good enough or should i bare down and custom the 6.5's? if you were in my sit. what would you do?

After too much planning my friend has decided to drop money for the system in his maxima and here is what we came up with... Headunit: Pioneer Premier 6900 Amp: Kicker 650.4 Speakers: Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS Subwoofers: 2x 12" SD-1 Miscellanous: Knu 4 Gauge Amp Kit KOL-AK44 Deadning: 1 Roll Raamat BXT and 5 yards of ensolite Mostly I will be stuffing the deading and ensolite into the doors and trunk to help the midbass and trunk rattle as much as possible. The 2 12's will be in a ported box tuned nice and low (sub 30's). I'm thinking a foward fire with ports runni…

I love when you have somebody pull up next to you with a "wally world" system and you completely drown them out. Here in Memphis,TN there seems to be so many weak systems that it is almost fun just to cruise around. Though there are the select few that are sounding great !!!

I built the box that my SSA 12" Icon is in right now originally for my 12" RD Alpha V2, which the box is 2.3 cubes tuned to 33hz. Just the basic "L" shaped port. I found an ad on KSL for a box build that said he could build me a custom ported box for $250, when I know if I can get help from you guys that I could build it for less than half that, plus he said that "You should probably go with two 10" subs since the 12" subs have a harder time keeping up" which made me really want to do my own box and not this joker. I listen to mostly techno, rap, hip hop, and heavy metal. Should I basically build the same box again or should I build a different box? I want a box that will…

I have a 1985 chevy el camino. I am contemplating on what to put in it for subs. the measurements I have for room are 20 wide x 10 high x 18 roughly deep and I can put one of these boxes on each side of the tranny hump. So i am stuck between a 8"and 10" sub for each side. I really liked my uncles 12w7 in a 2.25cube box tuned to 32 with a jl1000. I have a Rockford Fosgate t10001bd amp. I have put a 140 amp altenator in my car my stock one was 58amps. So my amp power should be good. What is a good pair of 8s or 10s that will fit in the space that I have ported that will hit like my uncles 12w7.

Bought a BTL 18. area in the trunk is tight for now... I would really like my Sub and port facing up. but if that isnt possible or not good then i will settle fot the sub facing up and the port wherever it must be. i plan to use 1" think wood i guess (not sure if thats good enough or what kind to even get) so my dimensions for the box will have to be D: 25" H: 19" W: 27" i subtracted the inch of wood from this and comes to obviosly D: 24" H: 18" W: 26" I entered this into a volume calculator on some website and it told me that this was 6.5 cubic feet. My question is, is this correct? and if not what is the true cubic feet of these... im pretty good at math but i couldn…

Hi guys, I am interested in building a floating amp rack, but I'm not sure quite how to do it. Any info would be helpful, especially links with pics or even vids. I have a concept of what I want it to look like but not sure how to hide the wires. Thanks for anything you guys can throw at me!

ok so ive been wanting to re-do my setup for some time now in me 2000 chevy blazer 4 door. as of now i have (had) 4 RF p3 12's and a t1500. i now have a sundown 3500 and want to move on to some higher quality subs. now heres my dilema, i wanna compete in meca shows but the rules state that my box cant be over the back of my seat. now ive been looking for 2 "small ported box" 15's that i can pound on. my buddy has 2 american bass hd 15's in a blazer xtreme doing a 147-148 and hes in my class but i dont like the hds. i need some suggestions on what kind of subs i can get to be louder than him but still haave a fairly small ported box. my max dimensions would be 37.5 x 16 x …

Im looking to run a extra battery (XS Power D3100) to the back of my truck. Then run a Autotek 4000.1 from it. Should i run 2 1/0 cables from the starter battery to D3100 battery or will 1 be enough to fully support everything.

I am thinking about buying my new Pioneer Premier DEH-800PRS and iPod adapter from www.wooferetc.com Total would be $475 shipped. I was wondering if anyone has been screwed over by them? And if so, how and what happened? If I don't buy it from there for $399, I would buy it from a local store for $479...... I would rather buy from wooferetc.com, as long as it's a legit site. They claim to be BBB, and a AAA rated site.

I decided to give my mom a very short preview of my 2 mojo 15's on my saz3000d. This is not the best reaction video because she has heard many of my previous setups. However, it is funny every time. The cheap camera does not capture the cleanness of the bass. It just sounds like truck rattle. Anyways enjoy.

Hey Jon. I want to order all my new equipment today or tomorrow but i wanted to make sure it will all fit and hookup properly i have a few questions if you knew just quick answers to any that would help alot. Setup: (2) 15" FI BL (2) Saz1500 (1) 1 trunk battery (suggestions would be great) Here's the questions... - I can only fit around 7.3 cubes before displacement so it'll come down to just under 7cubes.. This should be enough airspace since its within the recommendations of FI 3-4cubes each. (2) 6" aeroports is what i'm aiming for In order to prevent further displacement I'm considering adding a baffle to the outside of the enclosure. - Will this be a sufficient am…

He's such full of it, lol He's preeching to my class about how people these days do things wrong, such as. It is just as efficient to run one battery, and a crap load of alternators would be more sufficient then to have more batterys and 2-3 bigger alts. Probably true, but then he's talking how you can't be supplying your amps with just battery's of the amount of power it's rated to do, saying that they'll die within seconds, we all know it could happen, but cmonnn.

As the topic title says. I need to custom build a set of RCA cables. I currently am running a TON of Y connectors to get the job done so I want to swap and only have to run one cable that has all the ends I need already soldered inplace. it'd be a 1-in 6 (or 8) out cable My current deck only has one preout-mono sub (with one rca only not a pair) I may split it at a line driver then run a 2-8 cable instead of the 1-8. So far I don't have voltage issues but I'm afraid if I keep Y'ing it off the voltage will become very weak at the amps. So if anyone knows af somewhere cheap and decent to get parts let me know.. I need to get these built ASAP... I think my local radiosh…
