He's such full of it, lol He's preeching to my class about how people these days do things wrong, such as. It is just as efficient to run one battery, and a crap load of alternators would be more sufficient then to have more batterys and 2-3 bigger alts. Probably true, but then he's talking how you can't be supplying your amps with just battery's of the amount of power it's rated to do, saying that they'll die within seconds, we all know it could happen, but cmonnn.

I have heard before that port noise can be increased if the port is too close to the sub. Is there any legitimacy to this?

So i have been looking at forum posts lately and i have come a across a word a few times and i don't fully understand it and i was wondering if someone could help me out! the word is "going active" like what does that mean? i have heard that before in movies but when i hear it, it doesn't mean anything good. so i thought i would just ask a noob question and maybe get lol at or be the bright point in someone's day!! thanks for helping Kenneth

i have the big 3 ,,0 gauged on all points , also have 0gauge ran to mount area and 0ground under 3feet,, i have a 300amp fuse, am i doin this wrong, i plan to run the amp down to a 1ohm load daily ,, will the 300 do well or do i need to step it up to a 350 or bigger,,

I was refered to the board from the mwsr msg. board hope some one can help me out heres the deal puttin the touch screen in the lincoln, got the parking break wire grounded and the vidio is working fine...BUT i aint gettin any sound when the car is started, but I do when it is on acc. keep following me though.... there is a red (it is hot) wire that was grounded to the back of the fac. radio and if I ground and then release this wire while the car is on I get my sound back..... aint never mesed with somthin like this....DO I NEED TO GROUND THIS WIRE?? Ok i know the kicker amp shouldnt do 1 ohm, but i have been doing some reading and they say it can be ran at 1 ohm. When i say they i mean other users of this amp online. I did hook it up at 1 ohm and it did fine until i turned up the gain and bass boost. But with the cadence amp it runs fine no problems. It doesnt even get hot. So what i would like to know is should i run my kicker at 1 ohm, and play with fire. Or should i play it safe and run the cadence? out of the 2 amps which would give the best sound? and how is cadence as a amp i never had one before?

As the topic title says. I need to custom build a set of RCA cables. I currently am running a TON of Y connectors to get the job done so I want to swap and only have to run one cable that has all the ends I need already soldered inplace. it'd be a 1-in 6 (or 8) out cable My current deck only has one preout-mono sub (with one rca only not a pair) I may split it at a line driver then run a 2-8 cable instead of the 1-8. So far I don't have voltage issues but I'm afraid if I keep Y'ing it off the voltage will become very weak at the amps. So if anyone knows af somewhere cheap and decent to get parts let me know.. I am building a box for 2 SA-12's for the trunk of my altima. I want to have a square port between the 2 subs on the front of the box, looking somewhat like this: O | O sub port sub Using 3/4" MDF and outside dimensions, my box's height can only have ~ a height of 16.5", a width of 33", and a depth of 16.5" (however, the depth can be altered a good bit if needed) I need to know what dimensions to make the port and the dimensions of the box itself if anyone could help. Hey I'm doin a build for a guy. He wants a fiberglass console. I am trying to see what materials I am going to need. (mdf, resin, and fleece.) Is that all? Also when I build the box do I just bulid the skeleton, stretch the fleece over it, and paint on the resin? I've bbuilt several boxes but never done much fiberglass so all info is appreciated.

Hey guys, just bought a 2007 altima sedan, fully loaded. It has the bose system with the navigation in it. The speakers sound good, but its a little lacking on the low notes. Questions.... 1. Is it possible to wire in a sub to the stock system? 2. Looking at a 10" icon, fi q, or lethal injection. 4. Main goal is a clean looking trunk without taking out the spare. I'm sure this will sound very juvenile to pretty much everyone on this board, but after doing some research on the topic and not finding what i was looking for, I found this site and thought i could get the answers i'm looking for and it would be a bit more clear as to what i'm trying to do. My buddy drives a '00 frontier with a jvc head unit with aux. His 6 3/4" door speakers are blown so they are disconnected and the only speakers he had were the stock tweeters in the door. He got in the truck and no sound was coming from the tweeters. Tried CD player, aux, radio and nothing. Were thinking the tweeters could have taken a dump or the head unit is poop, or maybe a loose connection somewhere? What could this be?

Bought a BTL 18. area in the trunk is tight for now... 34 hz or so was fine in my trunk.... but as soon as i put the same crap in my SUV... NONE of the same song play as well... and ALL of the song that sounded like shit sound great now... in an SUV... so im thinking.. should i be tuned lower for an SUV?? 28hz or so?

I have a 99 4 door chevy blazer i would like to do a vented clam shell in but would like to have it ported. i have never made a clam and have no idea how to do one ported. the plan is for 8 sundown sa15s then upgrade at a later time to the x line. i will be running 2 kicker warhorses on these subs as well and it will be daily driven and used for many demos. any ideas on how to do it would be greatly appreciated. thanks, tyler
