i've been planning a new box for my 10" bl for quite sometime. is there a rule to about how far a port can be from the woofer? would it be better to have the port fire out closer to the speaker or farther?

Hey guys, just bought a 2007 altima sedan, fully loaded. It has the bose system with the navigation in it. The speakers sound good, but its a little lacking on the low notes. Questions.... 1. Is it possible to wire in a sub to the stock system? 2. Looking at a 10" icon, fi q, or lethal injection. 4. Main goal is a clean looking trunk without taking out the spare. Been looking for a while, but havnt been able to find anybody doing boxes like this. Any opinions/help is greatly appreciated.

I am doing an engine conversion, and the altenator on the engine is rated at 50 amps. I am looking into a 100-150 amp altenator, yellow or red top, and the big 3. I am running 1000wrms.

I am thinking about buying my new Pioneer Premier DEH-800PRS and iPod adapter from www.wooferetc.com Total would be $475 shipped. I was wondering if anyone has been screwed over by them? And if so, how and what happened? If I don't buy it from there for $399, I would buy it from a local store for $479...... I would rather buy from wooferetc.com, as long as it's a legit site. He's such full of it, lol He's preeching to my class about how people these days do things wrong, such as. It is just as efficient to run one battery, and a crap load of alternators would be more sufficient then to have more batterys and 2-3 bigger alts. Probably true, but then he's talking how you can't be supplying your amps with just battery's of the amount of power it's rated to do, saying that they'll die within seconds, we all know it could happen, but cmonnn.

As the topic title says. I need to custom build a set of RCA cables. I currently am running a TON of Y connectors to get the job done so I want to swap and only have to run one cable that has all the ends I need already soldered inplace. it'd be a 1-in 6 (or 8) out cable My current deck only has one preout-mono sub (with one rca only not a pair) I may split it at a line driver then run a 2-8 cable instead of the 1-8. So far I don't have voltage issues but I'm afraid if I keep Y'ing it off the voltage will become very weak at the amps. So if anyone knows af somewhere cheap and decent to get parts let me know.. dont bash this idea to hard but id like to hear some thoughts on it. alittle info: dad drives a 03 f150 and his equipment right now is a Panasonic hu, polk db 5.25" coax upfront and a cheapy clarion sub (4ohm svc) in a box behind the center console in the backseat and a 2 channel amp that is bridged to the sub. amp is a walmart sony xplod... so we're talking maybe 150x2 @ 4 ohms (probably less). my idea: make him a tri way crossover... (really i just want to mess around to see if it works) so, if i understand the idea, i would set the amp to full range and design a passive xover for the speakers. so the sub would be bridged to 4 ohms and a lpf will be used @ ~70hz and …

I'm getting a PDX5 soon. Need some help picking out some components to replace my factory components with. Have a 2007 Silverado. It has the factory A pillar tweeters. Budget is just north of 200. Willing to go around 300 if I see something I really like. Any ideas/help is appreciated!

My buddy drives a '00 frontier with a jvc head unit with aux. His 6 3/4" door speakers are blown so they are disconnected and the only speakers he had were the stock tweeters in the door. He got in the truck and no sound was coming from the tweeters. Tried CD player, aux, radio and nothing. Were thinking the tweeters could have taken a dump or the head unit is poop, or maybe a loose connection somewhere? What could this be?

Hey I'm doin a build for a guy. He wants a fiberglass console. I am trying to see what materials I am going to need. (mdf, resin, and fleece.) Is that all? Also when I build the box do I just bulid the skeleton, stretch the fleece over it, and paint on the resin? I've bbuilt several boxes but never done much fiberglass so all info is appreciated.

I have A 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee I hooked up a head unit I get sound from it from all the doors and hooked up a amp I thought properly but I was sounding nice the first day then the next mourning I turned it on and I didnt hear any subwoofers the speakers are good I hooked them up to a different system and they worked .I'm so confused I wonder if I have some door speakers crossed and thats stoping it I hooked up at least twelve amps and changed everything that I can change and still no sound ????The only other thing that I can think off to get sound is to hook up a RCA inverter well thats what i think well what do you all think? please help

I hope this isnt a stupid question but here it goes... I have watched a good amount of videos on clipping a signal and what to look for on a o-scope (square waves). I was just thinking what if the producer makes the waves square in production? I know a lot of dubstep artists do this. I do listen to it on my system and some djs / artists do make good low bass. Just wondering if this will just amplify the clipping of the already square signal made in production and damage my system (like clipping any other signal). <- go to about 1:40 to about 2:04 to see what I mean. Hey ssa, I ordered some sa-10 's and should be here in a couple of days. I need some help on the enclosure. I have about 4 cubes to work with in the back of a 97 maxima. They will be on an ap30001@ 2ohm load. and im looking to hit killer lows and sounds good. Not gearing to much for any high numbers. Dimensions port position, tuning net volume, port area. anything would help. Thanks for the help in advance.
