Jim Thiel of THIEL Audio was one of the pioneers of American hi-fi, and one of its biggest names, ranking up there with Henry Kloss and Paul Klipsch. Jim co-founded THIEL in Lexington, KY in 1976, and was instrumental in the development of time and phase accurate designs with the use of sloped baffles, coaxial driver mounting, and phase coherent crossover networks. Sub is coming in today, really stoked. Bought a box, had it made to the smaller Icon 15" dimensions provided by SSA, but it was too big. Now according to the measurements I made, I thought the box was fitting.... wrong. It was a little off, and that made a big difference. Now I'm getting another box made for the IA Lethal Injection 15" and would like to know of anybody who has had experience with the Charger. If anyone has had a box in their Charger, how big was it? Any kind of help would be sick, I would make a mock box but I'm short on time and have no cardboard at the moment.

  7. Setup - 1999 Ford Expedition 5.4L 2 x 15" MTX 9500 1ohm setup Crunch GP3000D Amp ----------- Electrical: Big 3 of course - 1/0 Gauge Stock Alternator - I JUST replaced this thing a month ago, previous alternator crapped out on me. Question: Will the D3100 battery (second) be enough to handle the electrical? I plan on getting an Optima Yellow up front. Worse case scenario, I can always just upgrade the alternator. But i'd rather not if I don't have to. I just want a good steady voltage. ----------- I was planning on going with 2 18 BTLs, but found a great deal for 2 15 9500s for only 500 total - so I'm going to jump on it. Any/all answers are appreciated. Thanks.

I am trying to get me an enclosure for two 12" Icons, However I would like to put a few small changes to the box to make it look a little better than the "average box", but I need a little help. How do you Flare your port? If I put a plexiglass window on top, would that affect the sound at all, and how do you put a plexiglass window on a box without breaking the plexiglass? What type of paint is the best to use on MDF, for the flared port? Would it be better to have the rectangular port, round port, or will it not really make a difference? And where is the cheapest place to buy carpeting? Cheapest I found locally was $7 a foot. Also depending on price I might even be inte…

I have 1 crescendo 5500 @ 1 ohm on 2 18 sp4s box is 6.5 cub per 18 with 170 inch of square port! 18s are fully loaded. Pioneer deh80prs,4 rockford fosgate 5 1/4 and us 600 pushing them. 320 mech. Alt. 1 xs 3100 up front and 2 3400 in back of honda odyssey van. All 0 gauge cable. Never has it metered, but want more for comp. My question is this what about 1 more 18 with a wall and have amp wired to 1/2 ohm ( for comp) with some dynamat, or two more 18s? Either way will be just the one 5500 cresendo running subs. And how much diffrence do you think would be either way?

I have the MB PVF 213's in kick panels, and want to install these in my door. It says to run wires through the 213's first then out to the 164's. Each has it's own cross over so why would you do this? I'm running them off a RF T600-4 4 channel amp. I thought you would just run the 213's off front channel , then run rear channel to the 164's and you would be good. Then set my cross over's on my RF 3sixty.2 to HP on front , get it were I want it at, then set the BP on rear where I want it at and it would be good to go. What am I missing? What would be good settings for the cross over points to start with? Thanks

I'm thinking about going with a 5.1 setup in the truck. The front channels will be 3-way active and I'm thinking Legatia 4s for the surround channels and the center channel. Amps for the surround would be OLD US amps USA-100 and a USA-25 bridged on the center channel. There's a nice pocket in the top center of the dash for the center channel and the rears will be in pods up near the ceiling. The HU I just ordered is 5.1 equipped (Kenwood Excelon DNX-8120) and the sourround will only be used on multichannel source material with just the fronts and subs on music. Thoughts?

Hope the experts here can help, I have some OZ ME380CS component speakers that I am looking to install in my summer cruiser. Iis a 72 Cutlass, so along with the comps and sub I plan on adding some sound deadinig. I recently came across a Punch 600a5 for a reasonable price so I scooped it up. I thought about doing a sub on the single channel and the comps on the other 4. I guess I'm wondering what the opinions are on the use of 5 channel amps vs. 4ch and a mono? If the 5ch would be a good option, what would be the best setup considering it the components are crossovers, mid range and mid bass both 4ohm and 6ohm tweeter? The amp specs are: Punch 600a5 50x4+100x1@ 4ohms 100…

im about to build a box since the pre fab one i bought sucks. the spec sheet that came with the sub says the enclosure's external dimensions are 12.5 x 14.5 x 17.25 so would it be 14.5 length 17.25 depth and 12.5 tall? the vent area says 11 in^2(11 x 1) does that mean its 11in tall and 1in wide? the port length says 22 so does that mean that the port would look like a L with a 1 inch space from the wall?
