Ive noticed that my entire system gets louder when its raining outside! i know this sounds weird but i wonder if the weight of the water on the panels acts as a mild deadener? is the moisture creating a better ground perhaps? pretty odd..

a 3.3uF MFD 100V cap, they use those on the tweets....says for 8 ohm drivers it crosses them @ 6k ive got some other ones that say 100WV (not 100V like the other ones i have) and they say 3.3MFD 10%...are they the same? also, "non-polar" what does that mean? someone said it means that it makes the amp not know what load the speakers are at

I know everyone has their plethora of rap songs with heavy bass, but does anyone know of any good songs with heavy bass in another genre? A few I know are Decaf- White Clouds, as well as the Phil Collins - In the Air Tonight bass remix. Just wondering if anybody has some songs they knew of with some very unexpected bass. It's fun to scare the shit out of people with a bass line they didn't know was coming!

I've been in the subwoofer game since I was 17 and I'm 27 now. I have never managed to figure out how to get a subwoofer to really KICK for rock/metal, it only seems to be hip hop or techno music that makes a subwoofer noticeable. My questions are: 1. Is this more related to the production of rock/metal albums? 2. Do I just need to throw more power at my system? I'm only using an Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 in a sealed 1.25 cube box right now with an older Sony XM3001SXD amp(600w @ 2ohm). 3. Do you know a trick I don't?

So far all the subwoofers I have had were, two 10" Memphis Power References (250 rms each), two 10" Pioneer Premiers (400 rms each), single 12" Cadence TX12 (450 rms i think), and now I have a single 12" RD Alpha V.2 (1500 rms). The 12" hit lows a lot better than the 10's, but the dual 10's seem to give off a more bass and everyone that heard my subs say that with my memphis' they could hear me way down the road where all my other woofers you couldn't. I don't know if that necessarily means that the memphis were the loudest, but anyways I just wanted to get some opinions on subs. Here is what I'm looking for, right now I have stock electrical so the RD Alpha can really ma…

ive got one Fi SSD15 on about 1200 rms in a ported box at 37 hz in the turnk of my 525i. i saw some alpine subs on sale online, the new Type-E's for real cheap, I was thinking about buying those 4 12s, or 3 JL audio 13 inch W1s, and sealing them up in a box. what do you think the overall difference in soudn would be? i'm assuming a louder (more surface area, same power) and cleaner (sealed) sound?

As you know, a Power Acoustik A2400DB is in transit to my house via UBetterNotScrewUpMyPackageSPS Air Mail. Wire ... wire ... wire. Wire. I can get a Power Acoustik 2 gauge kit (complete) for $24 USD + $20 to ship it since I'm in Canada. However, it comes with an AGU style fuse and fuseholder, which will not cut it. So I'd be upgrading to an ANL style fuse and fuseholder. So I'd be paying $44 for the kit, plus another $43 for a fuseholder and fuse - which puts me at $87 USD. KnuKonceptz has a nice 1/0 gauge kit. Doesn't come with an RCA, but that's not a big deal because I have an extra on here I can use. Of course, KnuKonceptz does NOT ship to Canada. That's a $70…

I'll never do this, it's for 2 SMD 18's in 8 cubes with 15.375 sq. in. of port per cube. Would it work, the port wrapped around the box? It's 1*123, so 123" of port area. Would there be port noise, not enough back pressure, or crappy air movement? I forgot the brace for the bolt. If the port was 1:4 it would be tuned around 30hz, says a port calculator.

Ok this is one of my first posts and I'm pretty audio ignorant so bear with me. I have a 2008 silverado duramax crew cab and a sundown 1200 mono amp. I know the box has to go under the seat unless I do crazy customization so there isn't much room. The box that has been recommended to me by a few people is this one http://subthump.com/Chevrolet-GMC-Sub-Boxes/Silverado-Sierra-Crew-Cab/07-Up-New-Body-Style-GM-Crew-Cab-Dual-Downfire-Box.html It holds 2 10s and has a mounting depth of 6.5 with .83 ft per chamber and it's sealed. Downfiring. I know a g con and a sa10 would fit but the sa 10 requires .5ft while the gcon ranges from .85-1.25. I need to know what two subs would …

Hey guys, My girlfriend has a 2007 Nissan Altima and would like to start "renovating" her stock system as it is complete junk...I know a decent amount about audio and have spent several years to get where I am at: Pioneer 4300DVD Boston Acoustics S85 Kicker Speaker amp (can't remember exact model) Audioque 2200D SSA XCON 15 - Ported Box Nothing to crazy, but it sounds good... Now she doesn't have unlimited funds and I suggested she do it in small steps...so far now I think we will stick with doing speakers and a speaker amp...with a budget of $200 maybe $300...super tough budget I know...but she doesn't need the best stuff...just something that is decent. I believe the sp…

Firstly, don't tell me just because someone in their honda civic can hit 150db, that I can too in mine. I understand the differences between installation and burping vs music. I just want to see what people have been able to pull off in their vehicles. Also state if vehicle was walled. I'll start: Vehicle: 1997 Jeep Wrangler (2door, hardtop). Equipment: DC 270xp alt, saz1500d, Fi BL 18" (33hz tuned enclosure). Meter placement: headrest Music: not metered, guessing ~140-142 Tones: 40hz, 143db I'm about to get a new vehicle and would like something sporty to drive, so space will be a restraint, but I'm curious to see what others have been able to do in their vehicles.

Hey guys, I have an 07 Tundra and I wanted a quiet ride. I laid down a layer of Dynamat Extreme and a layer of mass load vinyl from Second Skin (Luxury Liner Pro) on the entire floor and rear wall of the truck. It cut down the noise considerably. Now I can hear engine noise (coming through the fire wall in the front (which not much I can do about that) and exhaust/road noise coming through the doors. I think I can definitely do something with the doors. What material do you suggest to cover the doors? A layer of Dynamat Extreme? I read that Dynamat will cut down vibration, not so much with noise. The Mass Load Vinyl (Lux Liner Pro) is the stuffs for noise...howev…
