Have a pretty old Car audio background however have been out of it for while. I have been using my legacy equipment for years and has served me very well however its time for something new and very interested in Sundown. I already purchased the Subs a pair of RE MX12's that I want to run ( got a really good deal from a friend who was parting out) and need an amp to power them. They are Dual 2 ohm Subs so trying to decide if I should go with 2 1500's or If I can get away with either a single 2500d or 3500d I would really like to use a single sub amp for both space and system Simplification reasons. I'm putting my first system together one piece at a time. I first picked up my Pioneer 8600 at the beginning of the year and installed it into my 1995 Ford Explorer XLT. Now I'm moving to the subwoofers and amp. I mainly have two possibilities: (2) Two 12" RE SEs--- powered by an Orion 1200d OR (1) One 12" RE SX--- powered by an Orion 1200d I will more than likely port it either way, I am just wanting the one that will sound better and have an overall LSQ. I've asked this question to numerous people and I've got many many different answers, if you have an other suggestions, please spit them out. I want to keep it around this price range. Thanks, Kyle

So I'm currently running one 2ohm 12 inch icon on a 1200 watt Cadence amp at 1 ohm.. in 2.4 cubes tuned at 29.. it sounds very good. But I want louder more spl.. as much as I can cram in the back of the bug without losing my backseat.... was initially going to move to a 15" X or zcon. Somebody here said my best bet would be to add a 2nd icon 12.. so that's my plan. I think I can squeeze 4.5 to5 cubes and was thinking 34-35 Hertz.. I definitely want to get a better quality amp even though I've had zero issues with the Cadence. It doesn't even get hot.. but I'm pretty set on the zapco St series amps. Hey guys, im confused as far as what test tones to tune amps with. Im getting confused when people use tones with +-db levels and not sure i should do the same. Have a sub amp and speaker amp. Any help is appreciated.

Hi fellas. I am on the market looking for new eardubs. I was pretty happy with my original ones from Sony Ericsson till they stop working and I bought some cheap ones which are very bad. My phone is SE Walkman W810i. The sound was awesome with its eardubs and I am looking for something at the same or better level of quality. Must feel good in my ear, sealing good the environment sounds like road noise etc, very good response in all desired frequencies and deep bass. And not very expensive. Hi SSA, 1- I want to know what's a line driver specifically for? 2- Also is it worth having? 3- I've heard that the higher the voltage the better, but I don't really know what is meant by that. So after I installed my DD 9512g, its been knocking off my rear view mirror. I think this is the fourth time that it has came off. Its really not that loud to be doing this. It came off at Scraping the Coast 2010 and it took a piece of the windshield with it!!!!! I always use permatex extreme adhesive. I don't know what else to do now. Any ideas? Im thinking it might be due to the vibration in my floor translating to the windshield. My floor vibrates a lot along with my side mirrors and door panels.

Well, as if two SP4 18's isnt big enough, lol After doing measurements I have enough room for 3, so I just ordered another one. So now I have time to build a new enclosure and not have any down time which is cool. I ordered another Dual 1ohm. So now becomes the question of amp and ohm load choice. After looking at my wiring options I think it will work perfect. For at least a couple months I need to run all three off this one Crescendo BC5500. Which I actually think will be ok for now and get loud. Three dual 1's will wire to a .67ohm load which I think that will be fine if I'm thinking correctly and hopefully put out close to 2000 watts per sub. My electrical is very sta…

Heya guys, I'm starting a somewhat crazy build. I've run several sims and I just cannot viably fit a large slot ported box in the car. So.... I'm looking at .75 mdf double baffled top 21" x 24.5" x 20.75" giving 4.8 gross cubes. I'm bracing the box with rod iron. I was looking a putting 2x 4" ports and tuning the box to around 32hz, with a single zv4 18 on a crescendo bd2000. My question is do you guys think I should give a third 4" port and give up a tad of airspace? 3x 4" 16.5"long ports should give a tuning of ~34 hz. I could also go with a single 6" port, but I don't have the room in the car or box to put two 6" ports There is very little more room in the car afte…

Today, I just finished installing everything in my car. It includes, Fi BL 12 Sundown SAE 1200d Ported box tuned to 33hz. 1/0 all around. Big 3 already done. I got everything done, and went for a drive to a less populated area. I started to play some music, and noticed that, this setup was hitting just about as hard as my two previous Kicker Comps on 300 watts in a sealed enclosure, if not less. So here goes. Well I decided one day to tear out the center console in my truck with the intention of putting a new one in there.. Well 3 years later.. still no center console. So thats where it brings me up to pretty much till last weekend. Obviously insanely modified and i understand that, i was just curious what type of box he uses. I cant really find much on what he actually used, does he keep it a secret? right now in the t bird i have pioneer 6x8's that were in the car when i got them(the ones you can get from walmart). they are nice speakers but arent really waht im looking for. im trying to find something that has clear mids and highs and decent bass response...i know i cant expect too much bass out of a 6x8 but i was hoping someone could point me toward a nice set. thanks.

I know PPI had been slipping, but how does the new stuff stack up after the purchase by Epsilon and a total overhaul of all their lines?at least that's what I understand. I'm looking at the art series 6.5 comps(2sets) and the phantom series p900.5 amp with a dcon 10 out back sealed @ 1ft^3. I'm not looking to shatter any records or compete, just lookin for clean and fairly loud for yer average daily driver.

Sound Deadner Showdown. There is the CLD Tiles, Butyl Rope, Vinyl CCF, and Vinyl barrier. So far the site looks great and has a very simple and straight forward layout. Im trying to learn more about subwoofer building. Specifically how different parts affect the sound of a woofer. Soft spiders vs Hard spiders, Aluminum coils vs Copper Coils, High roll surround vs Normal. Is there a thread that goes into detail about this sort of thing? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Will i get louder with 1 15" BTL fully loaded in a ported box on the same 3000 watt sundown amp recommended to me, or the 2 12" BLs on a 3000 watt amp in a ported box? everything is the same, the goals and everything, but i am just curious on this one....please let me know...also can anyone recommend me some nice component speakers with tweeters....i like polk audio, but idk if there is anything better please let me know thanks

Right now for my SAZ-3500Ds that are strapped i'm grounded to my frame but it's a pretty long wire and i don't want it that long. I cannot make the ground wire short and STILL ground to the frame, just can't. So this leaves me with grounding to the body, which i've only done with multi-channel amps.. no big mono blocks. I have (1) Yellow Top under the hood, (4) XS Power D3100s in the bed, (1) 320 amp Alternator from DC Power, Big 3 all inside a 1986 S-15 My concern is that grounding to the body will not be efficient enough for my SAZ-3500Ds. What is your input?

Thinking about purchasing a used 10.4 and I don't really know a whole lot about the company. Rated power is 115 x 4 @ 4 ohms Any info is greatly appreciated.
