When it comes down to the option of which way to fire your subs and port in a trunk I was wondering did the amount of power you were running made a difference if you have to fire your subs forward (into the cabin) or to the rear (back of the trunk)? I know that it can be a personal preference and is ususally done when people are competing or wanting more output fro m there setup but I was just curious does power level play a role even if it is a daily driver. On a side note I have heard some of the low end is sacrificed when forward firing as well since it takes the waves longer to bounce off something, will a lower tuning help out with this issue? I found a used JL W7 AE 12" single 3 ohm sub for sale locally and the seller said that it doesn't have the clamp rings which can be found on Ebay for $50. He also said that it has a small scuff on the rubber which I couldn't see in the low quality pics he provided. I have never owned any JL subs. Here are my questions: 1. Is it very hard to install the clamp rings? 2. Is $275 a good price for it? 3. I have a Cadence ZRS-8 amp which is rated at 50 rms @ 4ohm, 750rms @ 2ohm, 1500 rms @ 1 ohm. Will this sub work with my amp?

I wanted to know what is the way to measure port length when it comes to an L. I googled and found someone posted on another forum a hunch of different methods. So I wasn't sure which is the most common way to measure it. When I do and L port I usually keep the width consistent through out but I'm not sure if I'm measuring it correct. for instance on a regular L port say 18" long in a 12x12x12 box. With the port width being 2", I'd go towards the rear 10", then make a bend, and put a wood going 4" . So I'd count the first length as 12" then the bend has a 4" wood and I'd add the 2" gap from the second wood to the side of the box to get my 16" . Is that kinda in …

as a hardcore SQ guy I wanna try some new things for the next show. I want to be able to black all the windows out(pyscho-acustics) so the judges can't locate any of the drivers....I don't want it to look bad(towels and such) any ideas? I do wanna keep it as cheap as I can too but totally black the car out.

Fi produces a great product, we all know, but them breaking crap in my car is annoying. Well it's officially gone too far now and I'm slightly mad. How should I fix/prevent this from spreading further. Song used was Decaf's Red Chain, destroys the lows, as seen in the pic.

i bought a fully loaded Fi BTL 18", dual 1 ohm I have a 1ohm stable amp. Hifonics Bx1605d for the moment until i buy my sundown 3000. I currently have 2 PSI pf2 18s (1800w rms)and 1 Soundstream tx1.2000 amp on each. It sounds ok but im not sure they put out 2000rms@1 like it says... I saw 1 guy on youtube try n test one with a clamp meter and regular meter and figured about 900-1000 watts. I realize there is impendance rise n stuff. Im thinking about going with a 1 Crescendo 3500 or 5500...anyone ever ran these amps?

Hey guys, I have a Rockford Fosgate R500X1D and a Kicker 300 4 Channel amplifiers that i am wanting to get tuned correctly because my first time around i blew 2 of 4 door speakers and subwoofer the first 3 days of use and now with my second try i have them tuned not to max but to a point where i know they are not clipping. My question is where can i get a good quality oscilloscope or some distortion detector for $100 or less so i can have these running at their max. I would like to buy the smddd1 but im already 900 deep in this system and cant put any more into it so im trying to find cheaper options. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

ok im in a dilemma, i am trying to figure out which box to use for a d915d2 being powered by a US AMPS ax1000de at 1 ohm. Been looking around for a good 6.5 half component set speakers for my door for good midrange!!! The problem is cant find any speakers i like for under 100$. Im going to power the bad boys with a "Infinity reference series 7541a" amp. Open minded for any speakers suggestions.

I recently decided to go with a one amp setup rather than two. I just ordered the Kicker KX550.3 last night. This is my first time messin with car audio, but I already know more than I knew a couple weeks ago. The only things I have installed so far are the Optima Yellow Top and the Eclipse Head Unit.
