I was going to get a DCON 12, ported around 30-32hz. I plan to run it off the bridged rear channels of a 4 channel amp. Was going to get the Crescendo 1000C4, but it doesnt have the option to use the HPF as a subsonic filter. Will it really be needed? I like to listen to Bass Mekanik and other artificial bass heavy stuff like that.

ok let me first start off by telling you my equipment. I have a sundown 3000d, 4 skar 12s , 2 deka intimidators, redtop under hood, stinger capacitor good for 10,000 watts , my alternator is one i found on ebay im sure it does more amps than the stock one but probaly not much , i would like to say getting a new alternator is out of the question reasons are i have a 2002 intrepid 2.7L and noone really makes a alternator for this car they want me to use brackets in stuff i dont really trust that and plus the alternator isnt in a place i could check the bolts all the time. right now the car runs at idle 14.1 volts and i check the capacitor voltage by the amps it goes to most…

Well I finally got my car all cleaned up. I recently bought a 1995 Nissan 240sx SE, last thursday. Enough my pictures, the car was professionally buffed at work(I work for Toyota) and my buddy still has to do the inside. It cost me 50$ through work for a basic detail, and then I paided him $25 plus 3 days of lunch. So basically I'm paying about 85-95$ for a 500+ detail job. He spent 5hours buffing, polishing, and waxing the outside today, and is going to do the inside tomorrow at work. Heres the pictures... I'm very excited about this car. Hello guys, i still have my Mazda CX-5 with everything still in, and working ! I am looking for my next car, thinking about an hybrid one, like a Lexus HYBRID suv. Who has ever installed a system in one ? I don't know what those car can handle. I'm sure I must keep the hu, but can I run 2 amplifiers ? I want to keep the same kind of power I have now : one 2000 w bass amp, and 1 or 2 amp(s) for 4 active channels (mids and highs). I'd love some examples. Thanks in advance. Alain

I just purchased two 15 inch Icon's through the black friday sale. I plan to run them off of a nine.1 each. I am in the process of locating a 240 amp alt for a 97 lincoln towncar. Will I also need a second battery for the system with this high out put altenator. The other issues i have is I am running a pheonix gold xenon 200.4 on a set ed 6500 and a some ma audio 6x9 for rear fills. The ed 6500s can't take the power from that amp though. Can anyone give me some recommendations on how to tackle this rebuild.

I have two different brands of speaker wire that are turning green inside the jacket. It is not turning green at the ends just in certain areas of the covered wire. Ive spent two hours googling and just seen multiple forums and websites where it turned into an argument whether the discoloration was due to oxidation or the chemical reaction between cheap insulation and the copper wire. Please don't turn this into a pissing contest. Either you know or don't know, don't need guesses. What causes the discoloration and will it affect the signal if used? Ok this is one of my first posts and I'm pretty audio ignorant so bear with me. I have a 2008 silverado duramax crew cab and a sundown 1200 mono amp. I know the box has to go under the seat unless I do crazy customization so there isn't much room. So JL is garbage but NVX is nice? This one sentence has told me all I need to know. No offense but NVX is cheap Taiwan stuff that's not gonna sound very good and sure isn't gonna hold up well guranteed. I do like the other brands SSA caries I own crescendo and sundown myself so I know there damn fine products. And I have no problem with cheap affordable products for beginners or someone on a budget but I can see now how biased M5 is if he thinks JL is junk and a cheap Taiwan brand is nice.

I am looking to build a 4th order or wall in a Tahoe at the c-pillar. I am looking at either 3 or 4 woofers. 1st question, has any one had success with a 4th order build with only 3 subs? 2nd question will a 4th order with 4 subs or wall with 4 woofers work well at the c-pillar?

I'm not asking for any practical purpose, or for any real world application. I've just NEVER seen this question asked, and after a bit of gin, I started to wonder, Are large amps, for example NS-1, IA80.1, AB1101.1, Stetsom 14k etc, you know, big ass amps, able to be run at 8ohm, 16ohm, and (never seen a speaker system run at this) 32ohm? I see no reason why you would considering the price to watt ratio, but could you safely?

could somebody model a box for me in WINisd or bassbox, etc. i'm looking at the Tang Band W8-740P 8" Subwoofer (regular magnet) Tang Band W8-740P 8" Subwoofer and the Tang Band W8-1363SB 8" Subwoofer (neo-magnet) Tang Band W8-1363SB 8" Subwoofer i have 2 of the reg mag ones in a 1.6 cu ft box tuned to 28hz (a moe lester box from caraudio.com)and they absolutely stomp a$$, i would like to add 2 more subs, but i don't know if i should stick to the reg mags or the go to the neo-mags. i'm lookin to keep the box size small as possible without havin the subs choke or underperform. and for those who understand, these will be for a new box. please help

Ok i got 3 subs sitting in my man cave 15s im in the process of building my enclosure now but im trying to decide how to power them they are dual 4 ohm subs should i get a big amp thats half ohm stable and wire them to .66 ohms or strap 2 smaller amps i need a total of 3000rms any suggestiins will be great

I am about as new as a newbie can get to car audio and the use of forums so if I am annoying anyone I apologize in advance. I am pretty frustrated at this point cuz i cannot find an answer anywhere so here I am. I bought a 15" xcon from a guy who was going to help me set up my system but he literally went mad and is currently in the state hospital. he told me to get a Hifonics Brutus brx2416.1d super d class mono amp which i did. He also told me that this sub is half ohm and thats about as far as we got before crazy happened. So now due to his mind frame I question if I got the correct amp and if so how do I wire a half ohm sub to a 1 ohm stable amp without damaging amp. …

My friend currently just got his first system. Its a 12" CVR with a 2.7 cuft. sealed box. The power is coming from a TXi 1008D (1000 watt) Hifonics amp. Now heres the issue. This system does NOT pound at all. It feels really "weak" if you say. Someone told me that the box is too big. Im not really sure. Heres a hint, when playing hoods run down, it doesn't get the last 3 tones. Its as if the sub is not even trying, there is no excursion at all. Any one have any ideas? Thanks. Heres a pic of the box for the hell of it.
