I'm already getting a secondary battery to run my system off of, but I'm wanting to also get a battery to put under the hood for all the lighting and a security system. What do you have? What do you recommend?

I have a trailblazer and I'm trying to come up with a way to secure my box for anti-theft purposes. I'm looking for some ideas on what I should do. Right now I'm thinking of laying some 1/2" particle board that I somehow secure and then put some metal slats of some type on the bottom of the box that secure to the particle board. I'm looking for an easier way to be able to remove it and replace it if I need to haul something. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Ok heres the beef n chedda In a trunk orientated system how does a (side ported) enclosure perform v/s (sub back port back) or (sub forward port forward) or (sub back port up) for SPL or SQ applications. Example: Kicker DCVR122 v/s DIY DCVR12 enclosure in various port sub positions already mentioned.

Is this a terrible idea? Iv set my gain using the way JL audio reccomends, and i seriously get little output with this way to do it. I basically need to turn my bass boost on my HU from 3 (where i orignally set the gain) up to 7 before i even feel likes my 18" BTL is up to the output my old 10's have. Tips for setting my gains by ear?

  7. Hello All... I've been reading through various post to learn more about building a system and now I have a question. In the past I've have built a number of car stereo systems but due to funds I haven't had a system in a long while but now I'm ready to build one up again. I'd like any input on my proposed system. I understand you all have different opinions and experience. This is just what I've come up with my own research. I'll go ahead and leave my list below. If you think it's a good setup feel free to let me know. If you'd take a different approach fill me in. If you think I'd be better off with different hardware like I said it's been awhile and I know things change…

Well I was down in Florida visiting my dad and this event just happened to be going on. So I was there. I did IASCA bass boxing tied for 5th doing 146 in a 60 second run. To bad bass boxing doesnt take watts into consideration the guy that beat me was running about 5000 watts of more power only doing a 150.1. Didnt see to many Sundown setups there. Galactic Monkey was there with the 24 15"s off I think 8 3000d's. Well here the pics! 6 Solo X's Ricer Awsome looking explorer that beat me in bass boxing and I still have no clue what he was running. GalaticMonkey (Chuck) was there! WOW I sat in this thing its definetly crazy. I love Sundown! Bagged out van. Was still com…

Ok, don't want to start any kind of drama here, lol. Just want to inform those who don't know. The Steve Meade Distortion Detector has a price listed for "less" then 139$ each. I'm guessing 138.99$ If you don't know what this product is, here is the info for it provided by his youtube channel. Also, I don't own any rights for this or any of the following information given. lol, I don't want any kind of legal trouble from the man. Just informing the community. "Ever wonder how to set your amp gains properly? Do you just turn them up till its loud enough for you and call it done? Do you turn them up all the way...... or do you tell your boys "my amp is ONLY up 1/4 of the w…

need an amp and sub(s) for a friend's s-10. doing a blow thru but would like to use no larger then 12's... tried talking him into 15's but its a no go. 1 Previous products that you have used (i.e. amplifiers if its an amplifier question, etc) -looking for comparable output to my 12" AA arsenal on ~500 rms -previous set ups was a pair of rf p1 10s sealed behind the seats. however he's a tall guy and doesn't want anything behind his seat- hence blow thru. 1.5 other equipment installed -rockford p400.4 4 channel on the door and dash speakers. 2 Budgetary constraints -under 400 for sub and amp. wiring will be 4gauge knukonceptz w/ big three if needed (could run 0 gauge i…

Hello all, im sure you're getting tired of seeing my post but here's another. I have 2 sundown SA-12s that will be in a ported 3.5cuft tuned to 32hz with 56sqin of port area on a saz-1500d v.3 wired at 1ohm so about 1500watts with all 1/0 gauge XS flex wire with the big three about to be put in my car. also going with audio technix sound deadener. My buddy has 1 Alpine type R in a prefab sealed box and 1 Alpine type S in a ported prefab box( i would think the type R would be in the prorted and the type s would be sealed but what ever thats his choice) with 4 gauge wire on a 2000watt max amp (both running on same amp) that me or him have no idea what the rms is but he says…

  16. So to start here is my sub box so as you can see my box will be made of 3/4 mdf and nothing will be visible the only think ppl will see are 2-6inch ports and 1 slot! now let's say I replaced the front piece with a piece of lexan or Acrylic Plexiglas (racecar stuff I think...) that way ppl could see a side profile of the subs and then I could use some LED's and have a sexy light show lol! now more info that sub box is ~7cubi and 6.1 after all displacement the subs are NS v1 15inch subs, this is a TOTAL in the trunk enclosure. so my questions are: 1. will Lexan work 2. what is Acrylic Plexiglas a. how does it compare to lexan I am currently searching Google and …

I'm all for measuring. The ear isn't quite cutting. There are many alternatives, believe me, I've used, tried and experimented with. Some of them are free, with save limitations. All of them are complicated with all sorts of calibration requirements and so-forth. Not to mention the mics and external sound cards add up quickly. I'd like something simple and fast. I dig the term-lab but the cost to play is serious. I came across this alternative . It looks promising. I did a quick search here and saw it's been mentioned a couple of times here and there with no real follow up. I'd like to hear the community's thoughts on something like this. If some one has one, please sha…

hey so i want to build an aeroport enclosure for a fi ssd 12 @ 33 hz and i have no idea if this graph is good or not. this box is 2.5 cubft and also i want to use a pvc port but i only have a 6inch pvc pipe at 15 inches in length and for what i need i will need a 21 inch long port for 6 inch port but i have also have a 4 inch pipe that i only need around 9 inches in length so im thinking about using the 4 inch but not sure if that will give me enough port area and not choke the sub. so can anyone tell me if this graph is good or is it too peaky at the 33hz point and if this is too much of a peak how can i make the tuning of the box more flat? test1 graph.bmp

How many times have you rode down the street going to the store or to a friend's house or something, and you are at a stop light and someone pulls up with the system bumping and they think that they are the Shyt. what do you do when this happens to you? I personally. turn my system up for about 10secs turn it back down and hear nothing but sounds of the street. embarrassed, the other person puts their's on mute in shame. I thinks it funny a little. Don't send your T3 sub to T3 audio to be repaired , because Johnathan Demuth will just keep it. He will stop answering your e-mails an phone calls. He said SEND IT BACK I'LL FIX IT, yeah ok. You know it funny that eveyday on Facebook he post something but can't answer my e-mails or phone calls. $600.00 out the door time to call Sundown and get a good subwoofer an good company.

Ok so looking for both front door and rear door speakers to match up with a Nendo C1100.4. I'm looking at the CDT audio HD-63 Braxial set (180 RMS) and the HD-61A set (170 RMS). both sets are 6.5" woofers and come with both crossovers and tweeters. Thought of using the tweeters off the rear set (HD-61A)in the front for a total of 4 tweets in the front. Any recommendations? thoughts? Ideas? Is CDT audio a good brand? Is the amp too much for those speakers? Any other companies I should consider to match up with the C1100.4? Also I really want to keep things as factory LOOKING as possible at this time. Minor modding is cool but not really wanting to do glass and the…

I was at my local shop today. Now, this shop is pretty popular around town. It's a small shop but a lot of 1st and 2nd place bass race and spl comp guys come out of this shop and compete at Carl Casper. There show room is flooded with trophies right now so you would think that they have a LOT of info in the audio world. While i am researching for the best subs that would meet my application, i was just curious as to what they would suggest me. They sell off the top of my head - Alpine, Soundstream, Powerbass, JBL and a couple others but nothin bigger than them that i remember. Anyways, i asked the guy if he could recommend a 10" sub for a ported box that would do well …
