First time on this website and im glad i found it. Looks like there are lots of knowledgeable people here. I plan to do a total makeover on my stock system in my toyota 4runner. I have many ideas but nothing for sure. i am new to building boxes and would like to know, about how accurate is the re box tool? I made a pretty nice little box tuned to 35 HZ and have no clue how accurate this tool is, so it would be good to know beforehand. thanks

So I reciently purchased a sundown SAZ-2500d v.2 form SSA and am a little stumped on wiring. I will be running a RE Audio xxx 15'' dual 2 ohm at 1 ohm. The amp has two positive and two nagative inputs, can I use both? Want to get the best power out of this as possable.

Guys, Need some help/advice. Here's the story... When I play this specific song my bass cuts-off. There's no more sound coming from my sub. I have 1000's of songs and this title is the ONLY one that cuts it off ALL the time. It's psybient (Chillout) music My amp is an Orion D1200 Sub is an SSA ICON 12" D2 connected in series. I tried in series (4 ohms) and parallel (1 ohm) and it still cuts-off!! My simple question is WHY? I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge on the matter. does anyone put a fuse between your subs and amp? just wondering because i used to have some g5's and they had fuses to hook them up at 8 ohms or 2 ohms. "seen several other woofers with fuse systems like some jvc's" just wondering is it a good idea to fuse them or bad idea?

I plan to build a floating amp rack in trunk of my car and was wondering what the best material to use for the construction. I was thinking 3/4" boxed tubing but I'm not a structural engineer or anything, so i would appreciate the input on the matter.

yeah well since bimmers alternators are expensive i decided to see if caps would do anything for me. Theyr gona be strapped to a JBL 1200.1 for a total of 2 farads. i didnt want to waste money on caps so i bought used ones that i got for 25 bucks shipped for non digital and 35 shipped for digital. I just came up with the rack idea when i was about to put em in, i grabeed a peice of leftover MDF wood from the box i made and put some leftover carpet on it and screwed it to the side of the trunk over my optima red top battery with a couple L brackets. hi guys this is my first post in a very long time... as if that matters but i do have one question to ask.... which is better cd or ipod? i have found that cd is a lot louder in treble while my ipod blasts the bass... my ipod is connected through a Alpine headunit with ipod cord and all... i was just wondering what people prefer more cd or ipods?

I have an ea alternator with an external voltage regulator. 12v under the hood and 16v 8400 in the rear. When i turn the vehicle on and adjust the regulator charge at 14.4 volts under the hood, the rear is charging at 21+volts. so, ill adjust the rear batt to charge at 18-19v and the 12v batt under the hood is charging at 12.4. Why? Could this be because the batcap 8400 hasnt been charged in several month and the 12v battery under the hood is at proper charge btw i do have a system setup to run a 12v and 16v....like a step down does this makes sense? lol

Im getting a new setup. 2 Fi Bl 15s and a 3000D. I plan on rewiring everything, doing the big 3, etc. Would i get dual 2 or dual 1 ohm? How would i wire this for both performance and daily use, IE: how many ohms stable and such. What options would i want on the subs, such as cooling, universal. Thanks, Drake

Can someone recommend a decent program that tells me what Hz bass is contained in song? Preferably freeware I've looked at a few through google searches but they either don't tell me the Hz accurately, say the wrong Hz or dont make sense eg. So I just finished making my box its 5.0 cubic ft after displacement. I have 0 guage coming on monday but I am currently running 4 guage and don't have my extra battery and big 3 done yet. I am playing my sub and playing it reasonably loud. Will this be fine if I play it for a week till I get the 0 guage and the extra battery wired up??? I have an 05 denali and my lights are dimming when stereo is turned up.
