Just looking around, i dont want to post a thread everytime i have a question. So i was just wondering if anyone had some good websites that i could look at that would give me some good quality information on all different types of enclosures. Iv been trying to look but im mostly finding build logs and i dont want to be reading up on crap. Thanks guys.

So, today i biught a 1994 Camry coupe. Red. V6. I will no longer be walling the wagon... i will be walling the coupe. So here the deal... I bought the car for $480. It needs a motor, winshiled, and a new hood(which i already have a spare.) Plan: 1. Put a motor in. 2. Swap the hoods. 3. Tint 4. System. System will consist of : (4) saz-3ks (4) SSA ZCONs 15" or 18" depending on space. Batts... DC Power 390xp Sundown or hertz comps. Sax100.4 Etc etc... pics soon.

Hey there everyone....I have a few friends who do a little free "tweak and test" thing for SPL every couple weeks. The next one is Saturday, August 20th (weather permitting of course.) It will be from 4pm-9pm at the Brunswick car show. The city holds a car show/crusin gig every Saturday at Laurel Square Shopping Center. They have their own space to do test and tune, just look for the EZ-UP tent and some loud cars around it. The address is 1733 Pearl Road, Brunswick Ohio 44212. It's about 18 miles south of Cleveland and about 20 miles north of Akron. Of course its free. Has anyone done a sub install or any other audio upgrades in a 2009 or newer acura TL? If so can you post details or piccs?

Justin has went to EVERY show, and has gained alot of King of Bass points making him the champion. With each entry he has also gained the most entries to the free SMD subwoofer, thus winning him the SMD woofer in the draw at the end of the show. This goes to show what going to EVERY show and being there each time can get you. Congrats Justin! It pays to support manufactures who support the shows at the roots, this is one prime example!

Have a Pioneer 4100ub and associated Ipod adapter. I have tried to plug in a brand new Iphone and a first generation Ipod and neither "worked". Tried both the included Ipod to USB cable and one that was brought with. Both switched the h/u automatically from AUX to USB/Ipod but no sound came out of the stereo. Radio/CD/and front AUX are all 100% functional. Of course all I did was connect them and have the owner of them start playing music. I don't own an Ipod and won't, but considering my boat already has the unit and will at least for the rest of the year I'd like to be able to use others. Is there some trick to using it? I was listening to my Fi Bl 12 today when it began to make a tapping sound. I assumed it was the dustcap, so i stopped my truck to check and found nothing wrong. I noticed the noise at a low volume, and when i turned the volume up it was gone. About 30 minutes later, while i was listening to shizzzons rendition of Dream On, my amp pooped out and began to smell. It also made the tapping noise i was describing earlier for a few seconds before it shut down. I pushed on the cone of my sub and did not notice any "jump" or hear any noise. So im not sure who is the culprit. Is my amp to blame, or did i blow my sub and that caused my amp to fail? amp is aq1200

I'm new at car audio and this is the first system I'm installing in my car. I'm hoping that some of you can answer my questions. I recently bought two Alpine Type R 10" subs and I was wondering if a MB Quart DSC 1500.1D amp will be able to power both of these subs. Also I'm looking for a good 2Din headunit that has navigation, bluetooth, usb, and dvd playback. I've been looking at a few online, but I'm lost when it comes to quality and good brands to look at. Also, are these headunit usually powerful enough to handle two Alpine Type R coaxial speakers or will I need an amp for those too? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Fi produces a great product, we all know, but them breaking crap in my car is annoying. Well it's officially gone too far now and I'm slightly mad. How should I fix/prevent this from spreading further. Song used was Decaf's Red Chain, destroys the lows, as seen in the pic.

So far all the subwoofers I have had were, two 10" Memphis Power References (250 rms each), two 10" Pioneer Premiers (400 rms each), single 12" Cadence TX12 (450 rms i think), and now I have a single 12" RD Alpha V.2 (1500 rms). The 12" hit lows a lot better than the 10's, but the dual 10's seem to give off a more bass and everyone that heard my subs say that with my memphis' they could hear me way down the road where all my other woofers you couldn't. I don't know if that necessarily means that the memphis were the loudest, but anyways I just wanted to get some opinions on subs. Alright guys so today i sold my 12" bl and am awaiting my sa-10's. So for now a buddy let me use his little 12" hifonics sub to hold me over until mine arrive. But i honestly dont know what i should do with the subsonic filter now since iv always ran ported lboxes. I have an aq2200 and the ssf goes from 10hz-50hz, so what should i put it at or does it not matter where its at?

As some of you already know, i've decided to add a 3rd xcon to the 2 i already have for a setup in my civic. I've pretty much got everything i need. Just need some more wiring and misc interconnects. Amp, too. Anyway, while talking to my box builder and the guy that helps me out with installs, he told me instead of running sealed with the xcons, i should run them in an IB config. His reasoning being 1. Sealed requires more power to hit the same SPL while IB requires much less. less power to use = happy electrical. 2. I have a whine sound i my front speakers, sorta like an alternator whine . It get a little louder with motor rpms. But here is the odd thing, it only does it when car is really hot and when i take it out of garage and its hot. If its night time or cool outside and car has been seting outside no noise. Any ideas on what it could be? oh and its only two of the four channels on the amp making noise.

So i came across this amp and its 260 3200 rms @ 1 ohm....Is it to ood to be true or what? has dual 1/0 inputs and 5x40 amp fuses. so like 2500 rms but still for 260 thats a steal! i think i might try em out...

I was riding a little while ago and All of sudden no more bass..and I go back home and check everything Subs are fine(I know cuz I took them out the box and nothings wrong with them) and Amp is on...I'm confused Anyone know what happening???

Soo... im trying to determine the next setup. I know i am doing ZCONs. And I will be using saz-3ks. Now what I need to figure out is if I can somehow fit 4 18" zcons on 4 saz-3ks. I am thinking of a wall behind the back seats... I dont(wont) want to remove my back seat. Now im not sure exactly how much room I have back ... So I will have ro measure it out later. How many cubes do you think would suffice for 4 18" zcons ? Since I will have a little more power than recomended, the enclosurecould be on the smaller side correct? Is the remote knob a separate volume for the amplifier or separate EQ for the amplifier? Do all these remote knobs do the same same thing? Hifonics's"Bass Boost" RF's "Remote Punch EQ" Kicker's "Remote Bass Level" If I already have my EQ tuned to the music that listen to, do I need a knob ?

Anything wrong with doing so? For example, 8 16ohm mids for a 2ohm load vs 6 16ohm mids and 1 8ohm, also for a 2ohm load?

Alright so i need abit of help here, my mate is looking into buying the HDC3 15" sub, and after reading some reviews he is not to sure about getting it now because in the reviews they state it gets real loud, but has no sq what so ever or a very little amount of sq. is this true ?? do the hdc3's sound bad ? Hey, I have 2 kicker cvx 12's in a custom ported box that I just recently switched to fire into the cabin rather than towards the back of the trunk. In doing so, it boosted what sounds like the middle frequencies, but it killed off the super low frequencies and the higher frequencies. The reason I switched the box orientation is to reclaim some trunk space, which it did do. Now I am wondering if there is anything I can do to get those frequencies back, and make the bass not sound as "hollow" on certain notes. The trunk is not sealed off, although the box doesn't leave much space between itself and the opening into the trunk. Any help is appreciated!

Have a pretty old Car audio background however have been out of it for while. I have been using my legacy equipment for years and has served me very well however its time for something new and very interested in Sundown.
