Soo... im trying to determine the next setup. I know i am doing ZCONs. And I will be using saz-3ks. Now what I need to figure out is if I can somehow fit 4 18" zcons on 4 saz-3ks. I am thinking of a wall behind the back seats... I dont(wont) want to remove my back seat. Now im not sure exactly how much room I have back ... So I will have ro measure it out later. How many cubes do you think would suffice for 4 18" zcons ? Since I will have a little more power than recomended, the enclosurecould be on the smaller side correct? Im thinking I will have enoughroom but not entirely sure. I will be doing competitions with this setup, but itwill also be a daily driver. So I will…

  5. I've been sitting on the gear in my sig below for the past 3-4 months waiting on the box to arrive, which did about a week ago. I'm relatively new to the car audio scene. I know quite a bit, yet have little to zero hands on experience. My last sub was done by Best Buy just to shed a little light on my ignorance. I have a brand new car and don't want to be screwing things up, but it looks like I have to now. I went to Sound Concept in Nanuet, NY to show off what equipment I had to be installed to the owner. He said he'd give me a quote, which I expected to be about $750 AT THE MOST. He then quotes me for around $1,300-$1,900 and it blew my freaking mind. As he tallied up l…

Is the remote knob a separate volume for the amplifier or separate EQ for the amplifier? Do all these remote knobs do the same same thing? Hifonics's"Bass Boost" RF's "Remote Punch EQ" Kicker's "Remote Bass Level" If I already have my EQ tuned to the music that listen to, do I need a knob ?

  9. Anything wrong with doing so? For example, 8 16ohm mids for a 2ohm load vs 6 16ohm mids and 1 8ohm, also for a 2ohm load?

So I installed my system on wednesday and Im having a problem with my bass cutting out at higher volumes. If I turn it down it comes right back. I would say it cuts out around 2/3 volume depending on the song. i also tried with the sub gain in a range of position from 0 to half with it set on the radio at the center position. I checked the amp and the blue light stays on the entire time and no other lights come on. Heres my current setup vehicle 09 cobalt ss radio stock processor/loc mtx req sub amp sundown sae 1000 subs (2) sa-12s d4 4 gauge wire first time setup: subs wired to 1 ohm (verified on dmm), battery output at idle 14.2v, amp grounded at battery(in trunk…

Have a pretty old Car audio background however have been out of it for while. I have been using my legacy equipment for years and has served me very well however its time for something new and very interested in Sundown. I already purchased the Subs a pair of RE MX12's that I want to run ( got a really good deal from a friend who was parting out) and need an amp to power them. They are Dual 2 ohm Subs so trying to decide if I should go with 2 1500's or If I can get away with either a single 2500d or 3500d I would really like to use a single sub amp for both space and system Simplification reasons. I know running Either amp will be at @.50 which is under its rated capabi…

Hey, I have 2 kicker cvx 12's in a custom ported box that I just recently switched to fire into the cabin rather than towards the back of the trunk. In doing so, it boosted what sounds like the middle frequencies, but it killed off the super low frequencies and the higher frequencies. The reason I switched the box orientation is to reclaim some trunk space, which it did do. Now I am wondering if there is anything I can do to get those frequencies back, and make the bass not sound as "hollow" on certain notes. The trunk is not sealed off, although the box doesn't leave much space between itself and the opening into the trunk. Any help is appreciated!

Okay so I am building a budget system.... I have chosen to purchase one SA 12 sub. I need some advice on... 1. Purchasing a 2ohm or 4ohm sub? 2. What size box should I have my shop build for me? (I am looking for good quality sound that is pretty loud for a daily driver, Listen to mostly hip hop) 3. Will a Arc FD600.1 amp be enough to power this sub adequately? Thanks a lot for your help!

  15. I'm planning a build of 1 Fi BTL N2 18s off of two Crescendo BC3500s walled off in my truck, and I'm using the Torres Speaker Box Tuning Calculator. I'm wondering exactly what the "# of Common Port Walls" option means. I understand that it refers to how many sides of the box are going to act as sides of the port, but I don't know why the back of the box isn't considered a side of the box. I have about 52" of width to work with, so I'm looking for the port to be 50.5 inches wide, so it would span across the entire top of the box. I've been messing around a little bit with some of my options and I'm not quite sure what the option I mentioned is referring to. If someone coul…

I an almost ready to purchase my pair of 18 in zcons. FTW! I'm still debating on what amp(s) to use for them. Any thoughts? Opinions? Statements? Etc? I'm thinkin SAZ 4500 if I can find one used. Maybe even Crescendo 's line but I haven't seen what they have out recently. I don't do competitions, this setup is just for show and enjoyment. But I want some bang in my car. Please, feel free to comment on anything, I'm open to what yall gotta say. I'm in the thinking process right now. Thank you. -Marcus G.

My friend just bought an SA 15 with a SAZ 1500D v2(used) I told him that amp is too much for that sub but he said nah he knows what he's doing. Now he's calling me and asking me how can he power the sub without blowing it. Lol. I don't know what to tell him as I've never overpowered a sub and wanted good results before lol. Any tips on how to do so? Thanks in advance.

This may be something extremely simple and I may have just wasted my time by making this video, but I'm a little stumped as to what my problem is. I saved myself a lot of typing and you guys a lot of reading by just making a video. Give it a look and tell me what you think! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXu_Jx9_xKA Took forever to upload the damn video.
