Hello All... I've been reading through various post to learn more about building a system and now I have a question. In the past I've have built a number of car stereo systems but due to funds I haven't had a system in a long while but now I'm ready to build one up again. I'd like any input on my proposed system. I understand you all have different opinions and experience. This is just what I've come up with my own research. I'll go ahead and leave my list below. As the title read's need some Ideas on fixing things that are getting damaged but fixing them in way the the problem wont return. Part I am interested in finding a permanent repair for.

So I installed my system on wednesday and Im having a problem with my bass cutting out at higher volumes. If I turn it down it comes right back. I would say it cuts out around 2/3 volume depending on the song. i also tried with the sub gain in a range of position from 0 to half with it set on the radio at the center position. I checked the amp and the blue light stays on the entire time and no other lights come on. I'm planning a build of 1 Fi BTL N2 18s off of two Crescendo BC3500s walled off in my truck, and I'm using the Torres Speaker Box Tuning Calculator. I'm wondering exactly what the "# of Common Port Walls" option means. I understand that it refers to how many sides of the box are going to act as sides of the port, but I don't know why the back of the box isn't considered a side of the box. I have about 52" of width to work with, so I'm looking for the port to be 50.5 inches wide, so it would span across the entire top of the box. Okay so I am building a budget system.... I have chosen to purchase one SA 12 sub. I need some advice on... 1. Purchasing a 2ohm or 4ohm sub? 2. What size box should I have my shop build for me? (I am looking for good quality sound that is pretty loud for a daily driver, Listen to mostly hip hop) 3. Will a Arc FD600.1 amp be enough to power this sub adequately? Thanks a lot for your help!

I an almost ready to purchase my pair of 18 in zcons. FTW! I'm still debating on what amp(s) to use for them. Any thoughts? Opinions? Statements? Etc? I'm thinkin SAZ 4500 if I can find one used. Maybe even Crescendo 's line but I haven't seen what they have out recently. I don't do competitions, this setup is just for show and enjoyment. But I want some bang in my car. My friend just bought an SA 15 with a SAZ 1500D v2(used) I told him that amp is too much for that sub but he said nah he knows what he's doing. Now he's calling me and asking me how can he power the sub without blowing it. Lol. I don't know what to tell him as I've never overpowered a sub and wanted good results before lol. Any tips on how to do so? Thanks in advance.

Simple noob question... I built a box for 2 10in DCON's but since they haven't come yet (day 8) can I throw my 2 old 10in alpine type-s subs in for now? will the spacing/distance for the screws be the same?

, pic of box ok so im building my new box, its going to house 2 15 inch Fi SSD's. Im putting a plexiglass window on the front and need some pointers on how to flush mount it. I have some ideas but dont really know what would be the best way. I will be using 3/4 inch MDF, and the window will be 3/4 inch think 12x24. Any pointers? thanks, in advanced

I'm looking to upgrade my electrical in my RSX.. I have a khc1400 up front and khc2000 in the rear and don't have space for anymore batteries!! I want to ge a good 270amp alternator, will this be wise to do with only one battery in the rear? Rite now I gotta zx2500 on a DD 9518g.. Looking to upgrade to a bigger amp maybe a VFL 500.1 (all daily listening..no competition)

I'm going to be pushing 3300 rms in a 5.3l 2002 Chevy Avalanche. I've heard all the great reviews on Mechmans products but its a bit pricey. What h.o Alternator and battery do u guys recommend that won't break the bank. The system is only gonna be a daily driver.

could somebody model a box for me in WINisd or bassbox, etc. i'm looking at the Tang Band W8-740P 8" Subwoofer (regular magnet) Tang Band W8-740P 8" Subwoofer and the Tang Band W8-1363SB 8" Subwoofer (neo-magnet) Tang Band W8-1363SB 8" Subwoofer i have 2 of the reg mag ones in a 1.6 cu ft box tuned to 28hz (a moe lester box from caraudio.com)and they absolutely stomp a$$, i would like to add 2 more subs, but i don't know if i should stick to the reg mags or the go to the neo-mags. i'm lookin to keep the box size small as possible without havin the subs choke or underperform. and for those who understand, these will be for a new box. please help

So i got a deck and some door speakers i wanted to get a good amp sub and box so i went to a local shop and told him i had a budget of about 300 bucks. he went to the back grabbed a dusty memphis street edge 12" (not even in a box) A memphis street reference 1.250 amp. He then told me a box was 50. He said he would take 325 for all of it. I told him to make it 300 after tax he hardely even hesitated and said okay. So whats the deal with these boxes? I cant go onto their website, and i heard they may be having some issues? I really would like to find a box thats this quality out there without having to pay someone $500 for some 'custom' made POS. So if anyone knows a person, or company that makes good boxes, let me know.

well what kind do you guys use? im about to mount my woofers but i dont feel comfrontable using the ones i bought to mount my fuse holders down, what use what kinda of should i be looking for i live in southern wisconsin so i have a menards thats about it and a home depot, but that like a 20min drive not really wanted to go all the way there for it unless i really have too

I purchased an AQ2200D from Audioque on 3/1/11. I received it on 5/3/11, which is o.k. because they told me there was a wait when I ordered (well, after I ordered. They said I could either get my money back or just wait; I chose to wait). When the time came to put the amp in the truck, it didn't work. No, it wasn't set to slave We called AQ and tried all troubleshooting options to no avail. Just to be sure wiring was correct, we threw my brother's Hifonics Brutus in place of the 2200D and it worked perfectly. This told me there was, in fact, a problem with the amp. So I did the logical thing and shipped it back to AQ, expecting to get my amp repaired or be sent a new one…

I just bought a dodge stealth and I'm having a box built to take up where the spare tire is and I'm gonna be running a Orion hcca 15.2... My problem is amp choice... I've been looking at the hifonics bxi2006d but I'm not sure it that would be enough power for that sub... I'm tryin to stay under 300 for an amp because I still need to by a HO alt and all my wiring... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

So... it was a bright and sunny day today with no clouds. and all of a sudden i hear a downpour... so, my windows were down and my doors are soaked. my crossovers are in my door pockets. and my tweeters are mounted high on my door. are there any precautions i should take to make sure nothig gets ruined if it hasnt already? im SO PISSED!
