I have a JL 13W6v2 motor that Ive had laying around now for a while. Am looking to buy a 2.7" voice coil to rebuild it without spending a arm and a leg for it with JL. I can find other soft parts that would work but finding a coil is a bitch. Can anyone help me out here in any way? I dont wanna get rid of it, I think its a decent motor other than the gap size. Thanks

    I did some research and here's what i'm thinking of putting in my grand prix. Headunit - Pioneer DEH-P7700MP 6x9's - Pioneer 5-way TS-A6991R 460w (80rms) or TS-D901P 350w rev series (60rms) 6 1/2's - Pioneer TS-D161R 260w (60rms) Subs - 2x P312D4 1000w (500w rms) was thinking T2's but that's overkill Amp for my high's - P4004 100w x4 (gets more but don't need it) Amp for my subs - P8002 (should net me 500w rms to each sub) Anything you'd change? Reasoning? Box suggestions? Edit: upon further research a P2002 should net me near 60w per speaker instead of using a 4 channel P4004

I just bought a zv5 15 thinking it was dual 2 ohm and it’s dual 1 ohm. I have a few questions. First, can it be recone to dual 2? Because I read some motors are only configured to function on the original impedance. Idk. And if I can’t get it recone, can I run that amp at .5 ohm unclipped on that zv5 and not overpower it? Should I run it at 2 ohms? I hope it can be reconed to dual 2. In need of help. Thank u.

I will be soon upgrading some components in my system. I have a new SAZ-1500d v.2 that will be paired up with an Xcon 12. I will also be getting a DC Power 180 amp alternator and will do the Big 3 also. I just have some questions. I haven't ever worked on a system dealing with this much power, and just want to make sure I have everything that I need. First, my current setup is a dual amp setup using Rockford 1000-1bd amp and alpine pdx-4.100. I used a 1 Farad capacitor (Ya, I know ) basically as a distrubution block for those amps. Electrical is stock. The capacitor will go away when I upgrade, so I have been looking at distribution blocks. I know I will need a…

So I've got a few more options for you guys to run through with me. I'm attempting to reuse a lot of my old system so I don't have to go through the ordeal of selling it all and rebuying most of it. So here's where I stand so far: 7" Mids one of the following choices: Seas W18EX-001 Seas W18NX-001 Peerless XG18WH00 Tweets I'll be re-using my Aurasound silk 1" tweets Amps I was going to go with DLS, but I have a Monitor 1 combo I want to try and use - Monitor 1 Mk4.70 for tweets and mids (with matching MX-1 crossover) - Need a sub amp (300w @ 4ohm minimum) Head Unit something with DVD playback capabilities. Since I'll be using an active crossover already, I don't really …

  16. This truck was owned/built/operated by my good friend since, 2003. I've been a part of it, since 2008. Has seen MANY, MANY builds. Truck hasn't been under a 160 in almost 10 years at this point. I have the chance to buy it, and bring it back into the game. It's NOT, the prettiest, but I'll be cleaning it up alot. And I'll get it louder than it ever was before. Last setup was 4 DD 9918' Super Charged on 4 DD M4's with 8 NSB 90's. Burped at 162.2@51Hz with 16,000w Street Beated 159.9 dropping to 11v Also did, 159.0@25Hz 159.7@28HZ And 160+ from 30Hz-60Hz My plan is 4 DD9918' Super Charged on 4 M4b's with 4 XS Power Lithium 12v batts. I will be taking delivery of…

Theoretically speaking if you wanted to build a 3 way active set of matching speakers but couldn't find a 4 inch speaker that wasn't coaxial could you just cut the leads running to the tweeter and still use the cone for lower frequencies ?

Just a general question for clarification. I have a single dual 2 ohm subwoofer wired to 1 ohm. If I connect it to 2 1 ohm amps that are strapped, will the sub still see 1 ohm or 2? If it is still 1 ohm, does this mean that the amps will be running at .5 ohms each?

well the positive on the box terminal melted and warped. this is the second time it has melted but the first time it didn't get ruined completely. but this time it did. the wiring from inside side of terminal to sub is 12g and the wire on the outside side to amp is 16g for 2000 watts rms i know it should be 8g. i know. but havent had the money to buy any yet. both times this has happened it has been the same case: the sub wouldnt hit until almost at 2/3 volume. or if i messed around with the terminal peices. (tightened and loosened them) in the first case i came to the conclusion that the two gold prongs that you see in the pictures on the inside side of the terminal…

About a month ago I had a local shop wire my car and install a set of components/head unit in my 2011 Malibu. Basically ran all wires to the back for me to put my amps and sub stage in. I installed a fosgate power 400.4 for my forgate t2 components using the passive xo. Couple different sub setups but always the same sundown saz1500. Extra kinetik hc2000 in the back. As of yesterday I'm starting to hear crackling coming from the tweets at about mid volume. Kinda strange because this morning I got in there after sitting all night and I was able to lay into it a little with no problems.. For about 2 minutes then the crackling/fuzz starts coming from the tweets again. Figure…
