I just finished installing my first amped set of components, and i have a few problems. The components are being ran bridged from a 4 channel (channels 1+2 and channels 3+4) The gain is matched to the head unit voltage (2 volts), and the ssf is being used as the hpf for the comps and the switch on the amp is set to "full". The rca's are hooked up as followed: Front left @ hu to ch1 @ amp Front right to ch2 back left to ch3 back right to ch4 I used this same head unit (alpine cda-105) with my "old" system without the components but with a subwoofer. There were no problems with the system then. I am using the same ground in the rear that i have been using for my sub amp. I …

1992... I was 13 years old and was bugging the hell out of my local car audio shops thanks to Mark Fukuda. My Mom bought me Auto Sound & Security every month since I was 12 (including MiniTruck). I had my first Kicker 8" sub at age 11 (hahaha my enclosure for it was a Tuperware container) Lol Kicker and MTX was the shit back then. Omg MTX IB was bang'n!!!! Anyways....1992... Mark Fukuda... as I turned the pages my jaw dropped. I honestly, 19 years later have never seen a better install. I still remember reading about him playing Floyd - The Wall at 150db. I remember thinking who is Pink Floyd lolololololo If I remember his 16 15" hit 152.x or 156.xx....man how time…

So I have a Poineer 3200bt, Pioneer TS-D1720C 6.75" speakers/tweets on a Pioneer GM-9500F amp, 12" RD Alpha V.2 powered by a Cadence ZRS-8 (1500rms). I have 1/0 gauge from my battery then it runs into a distributor with two 4 gauge leads coming out to the amps. 12 gauge from my 9500F to the speakers/tweets. I had the cadence amp and sub in my previous car ('98 accord coupe) and my lights would dim a little with the volume high. In my 2011 mazda 3 I sedan. I have my volume at 24 and the lights dim on every bass note, and I was on the freeway last night got my rpm's at 3k and at 26 my lights were still dimming. The bass on the HU is set to -4 and I can turn my speakers (wit…

Hey guys i had a similar post a few months back, but i have done some more research and this is what i have came up with. have a 2007 GMC Sierra Classic reg. cab what im trying to achieve is enjoyable SQ for all types of music from bass heavy rap to country to classic rock and everything else in between. I would like it to sound clear at both low and high volumes. Im trying to keep the install as stock looking as possible. Budget is around $2,300 total. I would like to keep the speakers and tweets in the doors i understand that this is not the best location and will be off axis, but i am willing to adjust time aligment and EQ untill i have it dialed in. I can also experi…

Im trying to learn more about subwoofer building. Specifically how different parts affect the sound of a woofer. Soft spiders vs Hard spiders, Aluminum coils vs Copper Coils, High roll surround vs Normal. Is there a thread that goes into detail about this sort of thing? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I am building a box for 2 SA-12's for the trunk of my altima. I want to have a square port between the 2 subs on the front of the box, looking somewhat like this: O | O sub port sub Using 3/4" MDF and outside dimensions, my box's height can only have ~ a height of 16.5", a width of 33", and a depth of 16.5" (however, the depth can be altered a good bit if needed) I need to know what dimensions to make the port and the dimensions of the box itself if anyone could help. Thanks.

Just wondering how your sa-8s perform in your extra cab midsize to fullsize trucks. Installed a single sa-8 into a x-cab 2008 F-150, .75ft^3 tuned to 33ish with i think either 10 or 13.3 sq inches of port area (im a noob at sub enclosures). The box came out perfect and right on spec. Not satisfied with the results, the tuning sounds good and it sounds good musically but it just doesnt get loud enough, gets 1/4-1/3 as loud as it does in my friends car. Tested it on 2 different amps at 4 ohms, zx400.1 and kx1200.1. so it was getting 200rms first then 400+. small difference in output. Im wondering if his truck needs a bigger or smaller box to achieve more output? How does…

Hey so I see a lot of people saying "my car peaks at 54 hertz" and I'm just wondering how exactly you find your peak frequency for your specific application. Is it something that needs to be measured using some kind of tool or can it be done by ear or some other method. Also assuming my peak frequency was 48 would you expect to find the frequencies surrounding that range playing audibly louder? If they do play louder how do you combat such a hump as to improve your SQ? My peak frequency is not something I absolutely need to know but it'd be cool to find out right and it might help in making some changes to my system.

Installed all of my wiring today, and I had a bit of a problem. I have the gain at about 1/4 until tomorrow, when I'll set it properly. The sub is getting power, I know that for a fact. When music is playing, I can hear a slight murmur of the beat. The bass remote to my AQ2200D constantly displays the red "clipping" light, but I find it odd that the "power" light is not lit up. I'm almost certain from viewing similar problems that the responses I will get are, "quadruple check your wiring!!", but I did that before it all was installed. If there are no other options, I'll pull everything out and check once more, but I doubt this is the case. Does anyone know a possible pro…

I'm looking into getting an 8 ohm woofer and a tweeter for each of my stock locations. The amp i have is rated for 50x4 @4 ohms and has a bridged rating of 160x2 @4 ohms. Question is, would it be ok to bridge each side (1 woofer and 1 tweeter) @4 ohms, provided that i find a decent 8 ohm tweeter? Or am i just better off running each speaker to it's own channel? I'm not too familiar with this stuff, so excuse me if i am completely missing something.

I need help on how to tune an amp the right way...I am installing a RF P400-4 that will be going to 4 6x9's and want it tunned correctly, and I have never really been showed how to tune an amp ever. I will also be installing a RF T-1500dcp on 2 12s also (yes this is the system I just sold but I wasnt the one who tuned it in my car). Any help, as always, is appreciated...thanks!

i just ordered a LED lighting kit for my interior, http://www.ledunderbody.com/7-Color-4pc-Expandable-LEDGlow-LED-Interior-Lights-Lighting-Kit.aspx It comes with a microphone that makes the lights pulse to the bass, i know it does not work good because a friend of mine has the same kit. So my question is, is there anyway you can hook this directly up to my HU or amp so it will work perfectly? Thanks, in advance

So everyone, I got pulled over yesterday for, as quoted off the ticket. "loud car stereo - unreasonable noise. No person shall generate or permit to be generated unreasonable noise or loud sound" Such BS imo...why should i get a ticket when its nt even 6:00pm and im on a main road. Im not one of those people that play it to annoy ppl, i play it because i just all around love the bass. People with loud mufflers on bikes and even cars dont get tickets...well I have to appear in court on the 23rd now for this 4th degree misdemeanor...really, lol. Cant see the ticket being very much....but im from OH so if anyone has ever had one please let me know how it when, cost...did …
