Ok well i'm from southeastern Massachusetts and I need an XS Power D3100. I don't really want to buy one online so I was wondeing if anyone on here could tell me where I could find one. If anyone knows a place in my state please just hook me up with the name and number so I can figure it out. I'd even be willing to drive to Rhode Island or Conneticut if it wasnt too far.. Thanks!

im about to be building a pretty big box that will be housing some serious drivers. i wanted to know which one would be the best option, nails or screws? ive always finished nailed all my boxes together but i also put liquid nail on everyone of them. the walls of this sub box will be 1.5" thick. so would it be best to screw them together? i just hate how long it takes to screw it all, thats why i prefer nails

  8. Ive gotten my box completed and my sub installed in my car for about a week now, its going to be a nice weekend out here in Michigan and would like to finish my box. What do I use to cover up all my seams/screws so I can paint over it. Also I want to have a nice black or charcoal look to the box but have it be textured like steve meades, any ideas what to use for it.

Ok i will start off with the car they are going into.I have a 1978 chevy caprice pristine condition low miles everything is stock. GOALS: Set up a decent mid grade system , i forgot the term .I think interior speakers are just as important as the subs in the trunk tho. SubWoofer:After a few days of research i came to the conclusion that a 12 inch alpine type R would be a good choice.I found an older model one in a box with all the wires that were in the car for 50 bucks seemed like a good deal so i bought it.It is in a small seald box that i think i may replace. AMP:I was looking at hifonics amps on ebay and i found one with 650 watts @ 4 ohms ( just learned i …

I went to my first car audio competition over the past weekend. I finished first in my division ( amatuer). It was a neat experience. I scored well for my first show and met some really cool people. I got some help from a world champ sound quality guy. He brought out an RTA, we talked and tuned for about 2 hours before I got judged. Learned alot just in the short amount of time. Was all in all great time. Also wanted to thank M5 for his input and sharing knowledge. Cant wait till the next show, I can attend. This may be the start of a real addiction LOL!!!

I am planning on getting 2 15" BL's with about 8 cubic feet of volume in a ported box to about 30 hz (I love lows, the lower the better). So how do you guys think this will perform? Also I have heard great things about Sundown and that they make great amps so what model amp or amps would fit these subs good, and what kind of electrical and front stage upgrades am I looking at to make this sound great? Also I have heard of the Q's hitting upper 140's with just one 15, so would this be that much louder if it is a good setup? Also just to let you know I come from one of those towns where everyone gets a boner for JL's and Audiobahns so I am ready to blow someone away when I…

Alright i'm going to be getting my first system for my car. I plan on getting 2 12" FI SSD's and a cadence TXA-1000d which is 1000watts at 1 ohm. I have heard many good things about FI that is why i am getting the SSD's but do i need them dual 2 or dual 1ohm to work with that amp. Does this sound good or should i get something else. All this will cost me around $600 so that pretty much is my budget.

I am looking into buying two 15" subs, a nice decent headunit, an amp to power the subs, a set of components for the front and an amp to power the components. What would you guys recommend for all of that. I have no more than $1500 to work with and I would like to stay under that price. I want the equipment to be nice high quality equipment, but still staying under that price. Thanks, Kyle

  19. This is my first system, might attempt DIY if I can find someone local to walk me through, or there is a small local shop I trust. Going in 07 Yaris Hatch. i was thinking subless, but now I might want to throw a 10" sub in the back for some more SPL and bass. I want an even mix of SQ and SPL, (50:50) but if I tilt to more SPL (40:60 respectively), I won't mind. This will not be a competition car. Going to run active. Current parts (in hand) HU: Alpine CDA-9887 Kick-Panel: Hybrid Audio (HAT) Legatia-4 (L4) Rear: RE Audio XXX 6.5 Components w/ tweeters (tweets in the A-pillar or by the L4's, not decided yet) I'll be using Second Skin's Damplifier for the dampening. So... Wi…

Hey guys, long time since i've actually posted on here. I've recieved my 2 12' FI Q's a few months ago, and i have to say, great subs. Beastly handling, but what i'm about to show you is kind of pathetic. I took my first video of these subs, and i have to say it isn't the best, but it gets the general idea of what i need to work and improve on. First i'd like to say that i'm only 16 and i had minimal help in installing this system. Therefore i didnt have any money to invest in a deck or any half decent equipment , what can you do when you don't have money? So here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaACs2NjaEA Its not really a video to show off, but i'm seeing it as mo…

New to the board and I am doing my first build. I am aiming for more sq than spl. working with a small budget but so far I have: headunit-pioneer 590 speakers-pheonix gold rsd 6.5 amplifier- hifonics txi 4406 Now I just need help deciding on sub and sub amp. I was thinking of 1 10", but i am not sure if this will be enough bass for a civic. Again i do not need spl, just something to sound tight while in the car. Nothing to rattle the car apart Trying to keep it around 800-900 for everything Suggestions, comments, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, Ive been lurking around here for about week now. Im in the planning phase right now, and Im already stuck/confused...not good this early in the process. Anyways, just need some input on how to get the most out of my budget. I dont have any experience in car audio or installation so bear with me. I llisten to mainly rock/alternative music with a little rap sprinkled in there. I have a 2003 GrandAm Sedan w/monsoon. My budget is around 700.00. Im planning on purchasing the JVC KD-Hdr1 HU and the harness which will be 200.00 total, leaving me with 500.00 for components/amp wiring kits/door deadeners (if budget allows)... I have some equipment that was given to me …
