I want to say it's a late 90s Yukon suv the only thing I need help with is figuring out if I should try and budget for as most cone area as possible or highest quality sub I can get like 8 12inch pioneer subs or 1 hdc4 18 keep in mind he probably isn't going to want to upgrade alt and batts so I'm working with about 1000rms if that also that he probably don't want to spend alot

Just wondered if anyone else has gotten any sweet old school amps, subs ect lately. I scored another kicker xs100 yesterday! (Third one ive owned) for a whopping $100. It still has all the terminal screws, couldnt believe it. Unfortunatly not a first gen like my other two were but i want to post pics and i cant! Aaarggghhh!

I understand that things are almost always "build, test, tear down, build, test; nothing works the same for everyone," but I'm wondering what others' experiences are with sub and port placement/alignment in a small Suv? 1) Would it be better to have the port rear firing into the hatch; or have the port firing up, parallel to and right up against the hatch? Assuming both enclosures take up the entire cargo area just under the window line and same external dimensions. Thinking that firing into the hatch would create more unwanted rattle, which could possibly hurt output(not to mention, sound like ass)? 2) Slot port running the width of the box, along the floor, vs…

Custom Cherryman box, 1.6 ft3, tuned at 34, wired at 1ohm I'm deciding between a new IA10.1 for $390 or a gently used SAZ 1500D V3 for $360. I know the SAZ is under rated but I cand find any bench test results on the IA10.1. Im imagine the 300 RMS between the two amps cannot be heard by the human ear. Would there be any difference in SQ between the 2 amps?

So I'm currently running one 2ohm 12 inch icon on a 1200 watt Cadence amp at 1 ohm.. in 2.4 cubes tuned at 29.. it sounds very good. But I want louder more spl.. as much as I can cram in the back of the bug without losing my backseat.... was initially going to move to a 15" X or zcon. Somebody here said my best bet would be to add a 2nd icon 12.. so that's my plan. I think I can squeeze 4.5 to5 cubes and was thinking 34-35 Hertz.. I wanted to know what is the way to measure port length when it comes to an L. I googled and found someone posted on another forum a hunch of different methods. So I wasn't sure which is the most common way to measure it. When I do and L port I usually keep the width consistent through out but I'm not sure if I'm measuring it correct. for instance on a regular L port say 18" long in a 12x12x12 box. With the port width being 2", I'd go towards the rear 10", then make a bend, and put a wood going 4" . So I'd count the first length as 12" then the bend has a 4" wood and I'd add the 2" gap from the second wood to the side of the box to get my 16" . Is that kinda in …

My soft top Jeep wrangler has been burglarized 4 times now at my crappy apartment complex. The thieves have never stolen anything valued over $30 but I'm tired of feeling violated. All my car audio stuff is bolted/chained down; I'm looking for a very basic alarm with door open sensor and some kind of proximity alarm for when the doors are off so the thug/piece of human filth hears the alarm and runs off without rummaging through my stuff. The new TV has 2 built in speakers. One speaker makes a weird crackle sound with any bass. It sounds as it a plastic bead is being vibrated and the plastic bead is bouncing. Like that type of a crackle noise. Main issue is that the left speaker makes the crackle noise and the right speaker sounds fine. Im assuming i should just try to exchange the TV to fix the issue, since i just bought it? I could hookup external speakers, but I would still like the TV speakers to work and not have to worry about them. Anything else i can do to check whats causing the issue or maybe i can fix it? but i dont think so, sadly :[ Thanks!

Swapped my sealed fifteens for the BTL again for my listening/HT setup; super basic question, any reason not to do up firing? I have always loved the look upwards firing setups, maybe because my heart is in the trunk of an suv it seems to register just fine. the cabinet is massive, forward firing is wacky looking; I'm using the opposite side as rack for amps. Is sag an issue in a typical setup or only in setups where limits are being tested?

So I got this 12 inch square sub for free and I wanted to use it temporarily in my tribute till I get a box built for my other 12 .. But the square one has no info on it except the dust cap witch seems to me is just an X .. If anyone knows about this sub or brand please let me know thanks

I am getting back in the game again! I have never done a trunk build before but had a few 150db + systems before so I'm looking for some answers. I have an 05 Nissan Sentra and I want to do a "trunk wall" build. I want to run two 15s and I want to play some nasty lows an move tons of air and be in the mid to high 140s. I'm considering the Dayton UM15-22 in a sealed enclosure around 6.5 cubes on 2-3k. I'm just curious if anyone have any input on these subs for car audio applications! I am interested because they play very low an they prefer sealed enclosures. I'm just wondering how they will perform in a car audio environment!

Who makes a decent volt meter that isn't a $100+ dollars.(No SMD) I'm gonna order one soon, and just looking for opinions on who makes a decent meter. What are you guys using, and has anyone used the stinger meter are they decent? Or the 99 cent ones on eBay are they even worth the trouble to hook up?

What is the difference between frequency and hertz, did a search and found nothing on the subject? Or are they the same thing?

Just a general question for clarification. I have a single dual 2 ohm subwoofer wired to 1 ohm. If I connect it to 2 1 ohm amps that are strapped, will the sub still see 1 ohm or 2? If it is still 1 ohm, does this mean that the amps will be running at .5 ohms each?

hey so i want to build an aeroport enclosure for a fi ssd 12 @ 33 hz and i have no idea if this graph is good or not. this box is 2.5 cubft and also i want to use a pvc port but i only have a 6inch pvc pipe at 15 inches in length and for what i need i will need a 21 inch long port for 6 inch port but i have also have a 4 inch pipe that i only need around 9 inches in length so im thinking about using the 4 inch but not sure if that will give me enough port area and not choke the sub. so can anyone tell me if this graph is good or is it too peaky at the 33hz point and if this is too much of a peak how can i make the tuning of the box more flat? test1 graph.bmp

Sending the Zcon off for a re cone, really excited to get it freshened up and back booming. Will be re doing my build also. Planning on new amp, wiring, batteries, and box. Maybe ill do a build log this time around but dont hold me to it lol.
