I was just wondering if anyone had used copper ring terminals for the ends of their wires when doing the big 3. I got a bunch of them for free but am a little worried about them corroding under the hood. Also I have read many times that when you do the big three to leave your original alternator wire and run a second line directly to the batt, but the Hi amp alt (165) that I bought says never to use the original just pig tail it and run a new 4 gauge or better wire directly to the battery. Let me know what you think its for a 1997 jeep cherokee.

So I am going to do a new audio install on a '00 mercedes e320 and I'd like to run it by this crew to see if anyone has any suggestions. I am not very experienced at car audio but i am convinced that with a set of Crutchfeild mastersheet instructions and the help from a friend who has done several installs i can do it. So heres the setup. Head Unit: Alpine iDA x305s with the PXA h100 imprint processor along with the KTX h100 to get it set up (this is extremely intriguing to me and I want to try it any opinions on wether I should get it or not?) Component Speakers (front only): Image Dynamics CTX 65cs Speaker amp: Sundown Audio SAX 125.2 Subwoofer: 15" Fi BL (still looking…

So i just got my ascendant audio havocs. I went with 2 12 inch dvvc at 2 ohms each. I thought i would be able to run a amp that makes power at 2 ohms but i dont think i can im lost on what to look for. Im not really looking for what specific brand (although that would be nice) i just dont want it to turn into a argument of whose better, but more of what things in an amp i should be looking for to properly run this amp. Such as 1 ohm stable, 2 ohm stable, etc. because im lost. Im running a alpine cda-117 headunit if that matters.

As the subject says I have blown one of my JBL mids. Does anyone know if I could by just the mids or possibly send the one I blew back to JBL for a repair. I have never delt with JBL so I don't know if they ever offer something like that. I am very pleased with the mids and don't feel like replacing the complete component system.

  10. The anticipation is killing me. Summer days go by and I'm not bumping. How long am I looking at to receive my single zcon recone? Ordered on 6/7. I was hoping it would arrive in 2-3 weeks. Anyone have any input on how long it took for them to receive a recone?

Hey everyone! it has been a super long time! sorry I haven't been on here lately, work has been keeping me very very busy plus my new job doesn't allow for car audio as I am a travelling service technician. But I will be quitting my job and moving to the states, so this means I now have room for Car audio again in my life/trunk! I am looking to install a RF 3sixty.3 in my 2010 Ford escape. I am looking to keep my OME head unit. Here is how I want to wire everything Factory Head unit speaker outputs To AOEM-FRD24 module To RF360.3 via RCA To Amp via RCA To OME speakers connections behind the OME head unit using wires. First time on this website and im glad i found it. Looks like there are lots of knowledgeable people here. I plan to do a total makeover on my stock system in my toyota 4runner. I have many ideas but nothing for sure. Here is what I have been planning: - 6.5" Focal 165 KP for the front - Alpine SPR-13C coaxials for the rear. - Rockford Fosgate T400-4 Amp - Either two JL Audio 12W6v2-D4 or one JL Audio 13W7 - I was thinking some sort of alpine or power acoustics amp to power the subs. I could desperately use some opinions on this setup. I listen to all types of music so i want decent sound quality. For the most part the subs are going to be at a decent lev…

  16. If anyone decides to go with FI - Your choosing to have the BEST. just my2cents Then again there havn't been to many top stereo's to listen to music on at SBN in the last 10 years. Some but not alot. FI showed up with the QUAD all day and I, an oldskooler who thought SPL had killed our sport, have witnessed the second coming. I was very excited to say the least at the best Daytona SBN's in over 10 years thanks to everyone reppin FI. You made the difference. It woulda been the same old thing - we find that one truck hear it walk around until we're back at the same truck. FI brought back the old days where you actually have something to do all day besides charge bat…

Hey guys..im not really sure if this is the right section to put this in, so if its not fell free to move it. Well tonight i got all my wires ran through my car for the new sub. We got everything ran, amp hooked up, sub hooked up, and it all worked perfect. The sub sounded fine. I went out for a little drive with a couple buddies, and we had the music up at a decent volume just to here how loud the bass could get. When we got back to my house we sat and listen to it for a little bit longer doing the same thing. Car was running the whole time. I went to get into the car to change to a different song and i noticed that my check gauges light was on, and that the temperature…

Since I got some time and a little money (very little) on my hands I really want to start tinkering with something so I am going to add a substage to my truck. First off my goals are to add a substage to take some pressure off the front stage and overall, make my system better sounding. I plan on running a Mach 5 MAW-10 with a Rockford Fosgate P325.1 amp in a sealed box (up or downfire) in an extended cab. I have set my budget at 220 dollars for everything including box supplies, distribution blocks, and extra wire. The budget really may be hard to not break but its all I can afford for a while. I saw a MAW-10 used for $40, shipped on the forums here but noticed the threa…

I may have been sleeping, but I don't recall seeing them before. http://rcamobile.com/ Appears RCA has come out with a line of 12V mobile products. I'm kind of intrigued. Their other products are geared more towards the affordable end of the price spectrum and are of reasonable build quality. If these follow suit, I would expect atleast the electronics to be a decent alternative for the budget minded individual.

  23. I have a 12inch dcon. It says that 2.25cu.ft. is "optimal" and the smallest you should build it is 1.75cu.ft. Lets say they are both tuned the same. What is the difference in sound, etc? What is lost or gained by making the box that much bigger? Also, I listen to mostly rock with a decent amount of rap music thrown in there. I'm looking for a nice middle ground tuning and a box that can be easily moved if needed. I was considering 2.0cu.ft. tuned to 32hz. Would you suggest something different? Thanks. (also, I know less power usually calls for a bigger box, I'll be running 340rms or slightly over to the sub) Thanks!
