I rebuilt my box and actually made an advance in performance. The amps can be driven more before they want to clip. My question is, when I measured the voltage (at Idle) while driving the system higher, the voltage on my two Kinetik 3800's dropped to 12.4 volts. I do have another Iraggi 260 Amp Alternator. Do you think I should install it? I wouldn't play it at this level normally but only to either brag or at a competition. Advise please. Thanks, JR

  7. I have a 2006 Mazda3 and a Kenwood DDX470 headunit. I also have Infinity 6829CF door speakers in my front doors, with stock speakers in the rear. Lastly, I have a Hifonics Brutus 1600.1D amplifier powering two Kicker CVX 10's at 1,200RMS @ 2Ohms. My problem is when I crank up my music, car on or off (but more so when the car is off), the radio will sometimes turn off and restart. My radio goes up to 35 on the volume wheel, with 32 being my self set distortion limit. I'm not sure it's really the song that matters, but I can crank up a song with a lot of bass to 32, and after beating away for 10 seconds or sometimes even less, the radio will just restart and then work nor…

Hello SSA, since I've had nothing to contribute on these forums for over 6 months now, its time to post something usefull when i actually can post something usefull....just recetly I've figured out how to work out the cross-Sectional area of a circle lol, thanks to my boss (Surveyor)...so these figures are quite accurate, they are based of Pi being 3.1416 which is close enought to what it really is!!!! PORT SIZE | Cross-Section Area --------------------------------------------------------------- 1" / 25.4mm | 0.7854 inches 2" / 50.8mm | 3.1416 Inches 3" / 76.19mm | 7.0686 Inches 4" / 101.6mm | 12.5664 Inches 5" / 127mm …

Well because i crashed my BMW im planning to get VW Golf II Here is picture of gold II Im planning to take out back seats and wall 4x12" subs, how does that sound ? Subs would be SPL dynamics V300D2. And run them around 3-4kw RMS. But there is second option also 2x15" subs, what do you think, what would be nicer ? 2x15 or 4x12 ? i prefer 4x12. 12. Ok, so as stated in the title these are my thoughts and OPINIONS on using a plate amp to power a subwoofer setup in a house and going active in a home environment. This was wrote in a short time period late a night so deal with any rambling that I did and please correct me where you see fit. I would like ya'lls opinion on this article and what needs to be changed, etc, etc. KEEP IN MIND THESE ARE ALL MY OPINIONS, NOT FACT. Thinking of using a big badass rack amp to drive your subs in your house? Thinking of going active in your home setup? If so, you may want to read this

Hey guys... I'm a newbie hahah my car was broken into couple week ago. I had an Alpine 7894, Sony explode xs-V1633 6-1/2" 3 way speakers all around, PG 300W amp powering 2 JL 12W0's with a 1 farad cap (my old car needed the cap) and a PG PLD1. All the bastard got was the faceplate & remot plus damaged the HU.. So now, I've got a Eclipse 8053 on order. Going to run it 8V for now. and a pair of Clarion SRS1684 6-1/2" components for the front doors. going to power the speakers with a flex4 MRPF306 amp (only 4ch amp I have that works) and get rid of the PLD1. In the summer when it's warm, I'm going to put my PG ZX450 amp to power the speakers (it'll be fixed by then)…

Whats up SSA! In the near future I would like to open up some type of small car audio shop. Start off small and build it up, but what I was wondering is.. Is it illegal to resell brand new audio equipment without being authorized as a dealer? Lets say I buy alot of American Bass subs and resell them for a $30 profit per sub (in example), would it be illegal? Thanks for any input.

If my crossover has a low pass filter that ranges from 40-400 hz, does that mean whatever I set it too is the highest frequency it will play? Also, does that mean that 40 hz is the lowest it will play?

Hey guys, I finnaly found the Powerbass forums I have herd so much about! I have been a PBX Dealer for some time, when I first started AJ (who is here on the forums) was my sales rep.....& one hell of a nice guy. We have been competing with PBX very heavily over the last 2 years & absolutly love the stuff. I have been convincing poeple on the car sound & performance forums to try powerbass for a long time, & I am glad to say it was about the 3rd most popular sub at the 04 USACi world finals! My team is the loudest in northen CA, so if any1 wants to E-mail me to get a 2nd opinion with SPL setups (after 1st ofcoarse talking with the folks at pbx) feel free!…

  25. So come January ill have all the bits n pieces for my build. What are some things I could do build wise that would make it sound that much better? I read somewhere about firing the sub forward and sealing off the trunk. what is this and what are the advantages? just looking for some ideas of how to squeeze every bit I can from this build. thanks in advance.
