I just got a new car and I don't know what to put in the car sound wise. Previous owner put an Alpine CDA-9835 head unit in the car with a Phoenix Gold OCTANE-R 9.0:5 amp. I don't like this head unit and I want to replace it. I was looking at the Avic-D3 but I'm not sure about that any more. I don't really know much about the amp I havn't really had a chance to toy with its settings but at this point I don't like what I hear from the stock speakers at all. And I don't know if its because of the amp or if its the speakers. what are people referring to when they are talking about a horn? it always seems like theyre talking about the enclosure, but what makes a horn a horn? and is that the full name? just "horn"?

I'm looking for someone in the Indianapolis or surrounding area to build a box for me. I keep getting $350-$400 quotes and was thinking I might be able to get one made cheaper/maybe not. I have zero tools so there is no way I could do it. The subs will be 2-15"D4 IA LI to go in a 07 Ford Escape with usable dim. of 40Wx22Dx22H in a ported box tuned between 32-35hz. hey, a friend of mine almost got popped for a sound ordinance violation, lucky for him, he's in school to be a lawyer.. here's some advice he gave that helped him get out of the ticket.. 1) check your local laws, know exactly what they say 2) if pulled over, don't argue. make known the fact that you are going to contest the violation, politely 3) ask how loud you were. Hi everyone I am looking for some suggestions on a good 3 stage battery charger to charge my 4 deka group 24 AGM batteries that is good for both agm & standard flooded batteries my budget is around $100.00. Desulphation a feature I would like to have. Some of the chargers I have been looking at are the Deltran Battery tender plus , Battery minder 2012 agm, NOCO Genius 7200. Those are just a few in my price range I am not looking for the best charger but one that will be safe for my agm batteries that will maintain, fully charge & keep them in top condition. I'm basically wanting to compare frequency response curves of subs, and I'm wondering if people feel Winisd Alpha is a legit way to do that? I believe the program calls it "transfer function magnitude". The program also has a "spl" field that I also wonder about. Thanks.

What do you think about aq subs?

I rebuilt my box and actually made an advance in performance. The amps can be driven more before they want to clip. My question is, when I measured the voltage (at Idle) while driving the system higher, the voltage on my two Kinetik 3800's dropped to 12.4 volts. I do have another Iraggi 260 Amp Alternator. Do you think I should install it? I wouldn't play it at this level normally but only to either brag or at a competition. Advise please. Thanks, JR

In building my new HT mains, I wanted another major change, so I said to hell with it... I wanted a new reciever, so guess what? I pissed away a small fortune!!! Oooo, sexy!!! With a Rava, this is a huge unit. It is a Pioneer Elite VXS-45TX. Lemme tell you, this is a bad a$$ SOB. It weighs more than a Brahma, and I think it even sounds better . Im trying to learn more about hlcd's and I only know of two brand which is illusion audio ch 1 and the krypt audio one. The illusion audio is cheaper but I cant find a website to even purchase them. Can someone just do me a favor and just post some links to different brands of HLCD's?

Drivers side ... enough room for the mid right where the foot rest is, may be enough for the tweet too. Passenger side ... plenty of room for the mid in the area right by that plastic bolt. Paper template baffle in place. Similar to real life size (tweeter would be moved closer to the mid). Drivers side. Drivers side again. Trying to show where the mid could go.
