The glue or whatever has loosened and the window moves perhaps a millimeter either way and rattles super bad. Discovered basshead radio on iOS yesterday. How can I resucure the window? It does not have to be pretty. My hatch window is spray foamed in place. 98 mountaineer (explorer)

I've been going back and forth on what to do with these midrange speakers I bought. I had planned to build a 3 way component set. I have a memphis m class 6.5 with focal 1" tweeter and a focal cross over I was going to use up front. But I'm thinking of mounting the closed back mid range on the door with a mounting ring. Running the comp set in factory locations with crossover off the front channel and midrange off the rear channel with a rca split from the front. It's fq response is 300hz-8khz I beleive without going out to look. Using the amps cross over to set it at 300hz, and running the comp set off the front channel crossed at 80, and lastly the sub (vfl 8) crossed a…

First off this place is TOTALY different then I remember (i used to troll this site for years under the SN 144dbFiBl15) Please ignore the newb status. I guess I have been away from this site for about 4 or 5 years...man time flys. Cant look back into my past posts, and all my pics of my former setups are gone... oh well ANYWAYS... Times have changed I grew up had two kids finished my E.E. degree and bought a new truck and the audio in this thing is CRAP. I started to look out on the ole inter webs and soon realized the game has changed since I have been gone. I am looking for suggestions as to brands or models of speakers i should try to run for a LARGE cabin…

So JL is garbage but NVX is nice? This one sentence has told me all I need to know. No offense but NVX is cheap Taiwan stuff that's not gonna sound very good and sure isn't gonna hold up well guranteed. I do like the other brands SSA caries I own crescendo and sundown myself so I know there damn fine products. And I have no problem with cheap affordable products for beginners or someone on a budget but I can see now how biased M5 is if he thinks JL is junk and a cheap Taiwan brand is nice.

I have the oppurtunity to use stainless steel bolts for grounds on a project i am working on. i have read that stainless is not generally a good conductor of electricity. I want to run stainless because on this truck the bolts will see some weather. So i figure i would use stainless to help combat the rust and corrosion regular steel bolts and nuts see. So what do the Gods and Gurus think? Stainless for grounds like for air compressors and amplifiers? Large relocated battery grounds to frame and cab with stainless bolts or should i just go and buy regular bolts and deal with rust and crap later?

Not sure if there is a thread for this already? if so please let me know, id love to see it! so far i enjoy watching some of "exoabigdeal" videos. hes done some stuff with SSA equipment also. and caraudiofabrication is another good one. and ericthecarguy showtimeSPL prefer channels that explain how things work, to learn about the equipment and that show different neat builds, some that everyday people can do, and sometimes more advanced things being done thats cool to watch for example from exoabigdeal with SSA 15 inch subs. 8 of them.... lol 8! anyone else?

I am wondering if any one knows any company that sponsors people running car audio and doing competitions. I am currently running a sundown x12 rev 1 1250 rms d2 in a custom built box tuned to 32.5 Hz. Powering the sundown is a cadence ia9-hc 2000 Watt rms amp. Thats just the bass right now. Other upgrades are there just don't want to go on and on unless someone is interested.

Open to all suggestions, as I'm pulling my hair out trying to combat this, and I'm not sure where to attack first, as aiming is only helping partly For reference, i drive a 98 mountaineer (ford Explorer) I can't get vocals to come from above the dash withtweets at the A pillar and 6.5's in the factory locations. I REALLY dont want my tweeters in my doors. It looks awful on my doors. The best luck i had was with a pair of 4" noname coaxials up on the dash aimed at the dome light, from 350hz up, midbass 50-350 and the 18 from fifty down. I have time alignment currently, and am lining up to replace my HU as well as add in a MiniDSP, but for no…

For starters I've spent dozens of hours but it's just beyond my feeble abilities. Current set-up: Jeep Wrangler (possibly the worst platform for good sounding mobile audio), Rosen HU (it has front, rear, and sub RCA outputs), Zed Mikro IV pushing JBL power series 6 1/2" components in factory locations up front and bridged rear to power a Kenwood 10 in a sealed box. The HU powers Bravox 5 1/4" components in the role bar. Those JBLs scream and I need them to, I frequently drive with the doors off and top down. Yes, I know they're harsh, but they fit my budget and the performance matches the compromises I'm willing to make. The problem is the output of the 10" …

Im in florida. i have a 2013 hyundai elantra coupe and am looking to upgrade my sound system. its all stock. was thingking about getting just 2 front component speakers and a new stereo. hopefully this would help improve sound alot? the stock audio is complete shit sadly. so later i would like to get 2 rear coaxial speakers, an amp for the 4 speakers, and possibly a tiny subwoofer. the subwoofer would be my last purchase if i even get one. so what component speakers and stereo would u guys suggest me? im looking for cheaper options and options that allow me to upgrade later on. id assume i only need 4 outputs on stereo? im a total noob at this, so any help i…

This truck was owned/built/operated by my good friend since, 2003. I've been a part of it, since 2008. Has seen MANY, MANY builds. Truck hasn't been under a 160 in almost 10 years at this point. I have the chance to buy it, and bring it back into the game. It's NOT, the prettiest, but I'll be cleaning it up alot. And I'll get it louder than it ever was before. Last setup was 4 DD 9918' Super Charged on 4 DD M4's with 8 NSB 90's. Burped at 162.2@51Hz with 16,000w Street Beated 159.9 dropping to 11v Also did, 159.0@25Hz 159.7@28HZ And 160+ from 30Hz-60Hz My plan is 4 DD9918' Super Charged on 4 M4b's with 4 XS Power Lithium 12v batts. I will be taking delivery of…

So about 4 months ago i bought Two Pioneer TS-d1720c Speakers and i had them wired directly to my headunit, They worked great but everyone told me to buy an aftermarket amp and they will sound a lot better. So about a month later i decided to buy the Alpine MRV-F300 amp to wire my speakers too. I got everything hooked up to the new amp but for some reason i felt like my speakers sound better when they were wired to the headunite instead of the new amp ( //Example// I felt like my bass coming from my speakers sounded a lot fuller when they were wired to my headunite. When i had them wired to my aftermarket amp, The bass was kinda flat) . I asked 100 questions on a few …

I have 10-8 inch and 6-10 inch PRV audio speakers. I have Taramps HD8000 2ohm running all 16 speakers. My question is will I get better performance from all 16 speakers if I separate the 8's and 10's to different amps? It does get reasonable but in my opinion I have heard smaller systems get louder with less power.

I have always wanted to try out a kicker L7 and I found a 12" Kicker S12L72 for $180 without an enclosure. Since I do not know how stiff the suspension is supposed to be on the sub since I've never owned one. How am I supposed to know if it's blown or even working correctly?

As the title says, looking for pointers installing in a Grand National for a buddy. He has had the car forever, drives it often and wants some improved audio. The plan is to do no un-reversable mods to the vehicle, will be installing a DIN head unit in place of the stocker (that is going in the closet), change out the door speakers in the Concert Sound II pods for some 5.25" components, throw a sub and amp rack in the trunk. Seeing as sandt38 has a few of these cars, hope he can provide some insight.

Just scooped a '98 Mountaineer this morning. Has the 5.0, it's AWD; feels good to be off the shoelace express Plans are a singer 240a, some royal excelene, a juicebox 20ah under the hood, Three SI mag v3 12's sealed (amp undecided), silver flute 8's in the doors, and hlcd's under the dash on a PPI 900.4. Doors first, but intend to fully dampen the cabin, mlv, ccf, cld, and foam. Want to sniff out an 80prs and snag a minidsp also. I'm so geeked.
