Ok I was just wondering I have always heard of ways people have tried to make there cars louder by doing simple things not really involving more power or better subs. one I can think of off hand is to bolt your box down to your car because if the box vibrates it makes you lose bass. I know I have heard of more just cant think of them. If anyone has any of them they would like to list and if there is actually any support to back them up let me know just thinking of little things to do or add to my car for no good reason.

I noticed this problem starting about a week ago. My sub will lose output by about half and play like that for a while, then start pounding again. It doesn't seem to matter if the volume is high or low. I checked all the wiring going into the amp and everything is tight. Took the sub out of the box and recrimped everything. I'm running the stock HU, an MTX RFL600D and a 10" Clarion SW1051. Amp is only running at 4 ohms (rated 300 watts @ 4 ohms). Stock electrical also. Lights don't dim at all. I've got a spare sub laying around, but it's a 12" and I don't have a box for it and no means to whip up a temporary box. What's the best way to start eliminating what the problem c…

Ok, the wife wants to get a home theater in the near future. I used to work in a car audio shop that sold home audio as well, but I did not dabble in that at all. Right now what are some quality name brands that are not too much? Thankfully I can get quite a bit of different stuff near dealer cost so that helps. (just to stir a little traffic) today, i will be building a box to go in a x-cab ranger that will hold three memphis pr12's. it will be a shared chamber 6ft^3, with 62.5in^2 of port and tuned to 35hz. these will be pushed by a mtx 1501d bieng shown 2.6 ohms (the subs are dual4, will be series, parallel), so i'm guess around 1000-1200 wrms. i've already replaced all four factory speakers with memphis pr5x8's (major improvement) being pushed by a rf 100a2(yep, the 5x8's are bridged left and right side [they are 4 ohm] so no fade) all being directed by a eclipse h/u. i'll get the model number tomorrow. pics either sunday night or monday night. now, my silverado will be losin…

So I was bored tonight and I was going through my iTunes looking for songs that could be used as a show off playlist. I was looking through various artists and importing the audio files into Audacity. When I used the plot spectrum feature the absolute highest peak bass note was at -12db so far. That was a song off a bass cd I have. So that has me wondering. When I set my gains I used a 0 db test tone at 50 hz. I have control of the sub output level via the HU. Now I know songs never hit 0 db, so when I'm really wanting to bump I'll turn the level to +5 which really gets some songs hitting hard. Got bored yesterday and decided to do somethin constructive. decided to make something so that i could use 1/0 guage on my AQ 1200, the power and ground inputs are only 4 guage

so i'm riding down the road the other night with a friend at 3am and not a car in sight in my town, and the police drive by. Just to show you how bored the police are in the town, they pull us over, LOL, then tell me that we are not allowed to ride bikes at night with a head light on it! WTF, a headlight on a fuckn bike! in time when money is abundant (thats right, i dont have money for wood) i will build a new box for my xxx. right now i dont like the way it sits in my car facing upward and you can barely see it because the box is so tall. so to remedy this i will have a more flat box with the sub inverted so there is no mounting depth and to give it more area and also to show off the sexyness of the sub and its entirety. al P.S. what should i tune it to, im thinking along the lines of 28, i want to show everyone a big sub isnt sloppy, maybe even lower.

I have a 98 dodge neon that I was looking to upgrade the sound system on. It is all stock parts except the receiver which was upgraded to a Sony X-plod CDX - GT11W 50W x 4 by the previous owner. I am not all to certain on the size of the speaker, but I think that the doors are 6 1/2 shallow, the rear speakers are 6" x 9", and the middle speaker is a 3 1/2. I don't really know a whole lot about the sound systems of a car, but from what I have read adding an amplifier, upgrading the existing speakers, and utilizing bass blockers would be the main focus. In building my new HT mains, I wanted another major change, so I said to hell with it... I wanted a new reciever, so guess what? I pissed away a small fortune!!! Oooo, sexy!!! With a Rava, this is a huge unit. It is a Pioneer Elite VXS-45TX. Lemme tell you, this is a bad a$$ SOB. It weighs more than a Brahma, and I think it even sounds better . Currently I have one 15" XCON in a ported box powered by a DC Audio 5K at 2 ohms (2300 watts nominal). I built the box with .75" birch and double walled the whole box. I am thinking about getting the new IA Death Penalty and stepping down to a 12" sub. My question is, do you think I should build a double walled box for the 12" DP on a DC 5K at 2 ohms? I don't really want to mess around with dowels for bracing and fiberglass to hold them in. And the XCON is great, I love it, but I have wanted a Death Penalty for a long time and need to step down in size so I can get some trunk room back for an air tank and compressors.

Looking for some 6.5 components speakers for front and back. Looking for the best deal not looking to spend a whole lot. Thanks

Hey guys. Ok the is my dilemma. Ihave 2 JBL gti mkii 10" and 2 amps. Ihave fused the voice coils together. Well I assume that's what I've done. One reads at 3.5 ohms and one at 7 ohm. So what I am asking is can I link the subs together to even out the ohm load and then run the amps in parallel. And if so how would I run my speaker wire. I really miss my good out put but I don't want to cook anything and have no system. Please help

hey guys I just posted my fi btl 18s for sale and img ettin ready to do a new setup the goal is to do 150+ on music in my daily I will be running 4 sundown saz1500ds, i already have two of them, im just trying to decide which subs to run. i want to do either 2 btl 12s, or 4 1500 watt 12s, i just dont know which ones to run. any ideas? what will be louder do you think? also its going in an 03 s10 ext cab, i had both 18s but it wasnt worth giving up allt he space, o only hit a 147 with 2 of them in a 16 cube box...
