Hey I'm in the planning stages of a build for my cousin. She knows absolutely nothing about car audio but I'm slowly changing that. I have a request for you guys though... Show me some Fi X's, DCON's, 187's, anything. I need some good pictures of stuff around that price/power range. I know all of those have stock photos but I wanna see some upside down and in boxes and all that. Thanks in advance.

This is what I've been playing with for the last 2 days. Crappy camera, but you get the point. '96 Stratus. Pioneer HU, Quart 5.25s in the doors, RF 400s and BD500, and 3 10W6s. Only thing missing is the lovely carpet I forgot to get on my last order from PE. Oh well. Enjoy.

Hi i have a 2009 chevy silverado crew cab. I want to buy a pair of the sundown audio sa 10's im just concerned my box is a little small. The box is 1.02ft3 per chamber ported tuned to 36hz before driver displacement. Im currently running 2 jl audio 10w3v2 in a small sealed box(under the back seat which is where the new box will go)my sub amp is an alpine mrp m1000 i am running alpine components in the front and the deck is the pioneer avhp4300 which i love. I listen to almost exclusively metal ie disturbed, five finger death punch etc.... will these subs work in this box and how will they sound. I downloaded winisd and modeled them but to be honest i dont have a clue what…

Well it seems I am facing a "small" problem. I am looking to replace my current stock alternator with a bigger one. Anyways after searching here and on Google, I managed to find several companies who build and / or sell high output alternators, for example: HO alts, Ohio Generator, Iraggi Alts, etc. But none of those companies have a high output alternator for my car: Lexus IS 220D (Diesel) make of year is 2007. (yeah I am European). The stock alternator is already pretty high (130A), but it's not enough to power: 2x SAZ-1500D strapped & 1x SAX-100.4 (bridged) & 2x Kinetik HC1800 batteries. Anyone know a different brand or who do custom build alternators? ...or h…

Hey guys... I'm a newbie hahah my car was broken into couple week ago. I had an Alpine 7894, Sony explode xs-V1633 6-1/2" 3 way speakers all around, PG 300W amp powering 2 JL 12W0's with a 1 farad cap (my old car needed the cap) and a PG PLD1. All the bastard got was the faceplate & remot plus damaged the HU.. So now, I've got a Eclipse 8053 on order. Going to run it 8V for now. and a pair of Clarion SRS1684 6-1/2" components for the front doors. going to power the speakers with a flex4 MRPF306 amp (only 4ch amp I have that works) and get rid of the PLD1. In the summer when it's warm, I'm going to put my PG ZX450 amp to power the speakers (it'll be fixed by then)…

I am going to get a 15" fi btl in my civic, being powered by 2500 watts, and i want to know ways to not let any sound come out of the car. Meaning, even with windows down, i dont want to be heard cuz i dont want to get shit jacked/annoy people. Is there a way to do this, or is it just going to be loud anyways, and i would just need to turn it down at times?

In building my new HT mains, I wanted another major change, so I said to hell with it... I wanted a new reciever, so guess what? I pissed away a small fortune!!! Oooo, sexy!!! With a Rava, this is a huge unit. It is a Pioneer Elite VXS-45TX. Lemme tell you, this is a bad a$$ SOB. It weighs more than a Brahma, and I think it even sounds better . It is so deep and so tall I had to relocate the reciever to the top shelf of the rack. For more pics, look at the "elite45" labled pics Here. I know there are some pics of the HT cabinets and maybe some of the wood as well on that page, if you chose to look. But as stated, the pics that begin with "Elite45" are the reciever un…

Would it be better to have four optima yellow top batteries or two Kinetik 2400s. I have read about optima group 31 batteries, is that just a yellow top or a specific optima? Thanks, Lee

So, Saturday, I was installing my subs and amp and among a myriad of problems, My most glaring problem to troubleshoot is a sub thump (more like: thump thump, thump thump, thump thump) and my amp going in to protect. The problem is, this happens long after everything is turned off. As a matter of fact, I went in to Jack in the box, ate, came back out 20 min later just in time to hear it. My setup is - 6 SA 8's D4's - 2 1500's - 300 amp alt, 1 CnD 100ah, 2 XP 3000s When I initially wired the setup, I paralleled them (2 sides of 3) for a final resistance of .67 per side and ran both amps strapped (I initially thought I was at 1.67 per side). Since I was worn out from gettin…

Alright, it came crashing down. I give props to Lil'Mike and dB-Kicker, I never could have pulled this off so it would have always been a daydream and a wish. I started a thread or 2 on the car audio area a long time ago about building a wall with THTs, then recently SoloX 18 THs. Here's the inquery I made April 18th. This is my way of still being able to make a thread since there won't be a build log. Jordan Powell What would you do? Hey Deon, I frequently toy with ideas of what I would do different if I had the opportunity to do another van build from scratch. The one I did was my only build of that magnatude, my 1st wall, first time running multiple subs with multiple…

I will be getting an Fi BTL 18" fully loaded sub and a saz1500d sundown amp. But in the future I hope to get another Fi BTL 18" and of course another amp. My question is, what should the size of my alternator be? Would 140 amps be ok? Or would I need more? Kyle

So I've had my setup for a bit now... I am currently powering my front stage with a Boston Acoustics GT2-125 ... Sounds great and strong... Only issue is that when I set the gain between the 8v and 4v setting (closer to the 4v setting) the speakers seem to emit a static/hiss noise when paused or during quiet segments past the volume of 30 which I'm almost always at ... I've pretty much noticed if the amplifier gain setting is at 8v it is perfect but very very low.... Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I have this tweeter set in the dash and this 6x9 set in the doors ... So the amplifier is currently seeing a 2 ohm load.... Should I ditch that setup and get …

ok, im have a big, big problem right now. i dont know what i want to do with my truck. im really into the whole "wall your truck out and go deaf" thing. but now that i have a extended cab truck, i dont know that i want to do it. im still trying to decided on giving up all that room to do this. i was talking to a friend, and he asked what if people wanted to go ride around and stuff. so i dont know what i really want to do. im stuck in the middle here. on one side, i love car audio and on the other, i like chilling with the friends. can anybody sorta led me in the right direction?

Inside: Outside: As you can see from the inside picture, the sides have openings, and there is about a half inch gap between the heatsinks and the top panel. I'm considering a new enclosure that would sit over the top panel, it would likely cover up all the heatsinks. I know the sides being open will help, but since heat rises, and the enclosure would be directly above the heatsinks, think I'll run into any issues?

So I have found some things messing up in my tahoe. I have two 21" death penalty's pushed by a new 40.1 and it is murdering my tahoe. Do I tone it down and go with a ""SQL"" setup with something like a pair of lethal injection 12's or keep going the way I am and have a junker for a daily driver. Or do I break out my 88 s10 blazer which already has a layer of damp pro all over and custom door pods and great kenwood hu in it, just sitting out back wasting away, and build a clamshell wall for it? Only problem with it is it has a old under powered small block 305 in it and when you turn the a/c on it overheats. Could I find alternators and beakers for it? Or…

Hello, just looking for some advice on my build ill be working on. Currently have 2 Orion HCCa152 Subs. I have the 2ohm ones at 2,500w RMS each. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good amps that can run 5000 watts at 2ohms THe biggest alt I can get is 270A and ill be buying from either Mechman or Singer. And my second question is, how many batteries should I expect to run with this buiild, and which ones will be best? I have a custom box built for my car. I have a 2010 forester. It'll be tuned to 28hz. Would also like some recommendations on a mid/highs amp.

Ok I promised a tuturial on how to package a heavy item so here it is. I recently had a pair of Shocker Sig Motors ( 80lbs Each) shipped to me. I explained to the shipper my technique and once again it worked flawlessly. Motors before shipment First thing you need to do is locate a box that is around 2-3 inches larger than the item you are packaging all the way around. Then you stuff the bottom of that box with a layer of foam pool floats (yes the kind like this) after stuffing the bottom full of noodles sit the item you are shipping in the box and fill the sides with pieces of foam. After that you need to put a layer of foam on top inside that box. You want this bo…
