Well i went to my first show today since my truck was vandalized and robbed. It was a local car club show and although it rained the show turned out great. I entered in the mini truck and the DB classes. I didn't win for mini truck but i did take 3rd in the DB drag. There were roughly 10 cars that actually had something decent that were allowed to compete. I think i did pretty good being that 1st and 2nd went to sponsored vehicle's. They were using Memphis audio amps and 1 mojo i think 15 each. There setups were identical. on being in a 02ish cavalier and the other in a 06 Grand prix. The cavalier had a wall in the backseat and the Prix just had a nice box in the truck. …

  4. I have been waiting for quite some time to finally arrive at the point on what setup I will be using. I was considering 3 IA DP21's or 4 Jbl W15Gti. The amp I am using will be the stetsom 7KD. If I were to go with the DP's it would be in a 24-26cube enclosure at 28hz. The Jbl's would be in a 20cube enclosure at 28hz. I cannot find a DP t/s parameters to factor into the equation. I at least wanted to use the DP15 subwoofer to compare in WinIsd Pro. What do you guys think? If anyone has any t/s parameters on the DP's let me know.

Ok so i am an extreme noob when it comes to this kind of stuff soo that's why i need some advice. my cousin is going to give me a choice of two sets of subwoofers that he has and its either the Alpine Type R SWR-12D2 or JL audio 12W6v2. My cousin also gave me a JL audio bandpass box that looks just like this one http://www.cardomain...t-cobalt/page-2 i have been looking up reviews about bandpass boxes and so far i have found more cons than pros about them..i guess i just want to know if a bandpass box is honesty a bad choice and if i should buy another box. If you feel like it post an easy list of a good set up that would work well for two 12 inch type r subs or JLw6. I'm…

I just got a new car and I don't know what to put in the car sound wise. Previous owner put an Alpine CDA-9835 head unit in the car with a Phoenix Gold OCTANE-R 9.0:5 amp. I don't like this head unit and I want to replace it. I was looking at the Avic-D3 but I'm not sure about that any more. I don't really know much about the amp I havn't really had a chance to toy with its settings but at this point I don't like what I hear from the stock speakers at all. And I don't know if its because of the amp or if its the speakers. Im my old car I had Rockford Fosgate 1100a2 amp FI Q 12 Infinity Kappa 60.7cs components in the front and back JVC KD-SH1000 Headunit Rockford Fosgate…

Im trying to upgrade my current system myself. I have a 2002 Toyota Camry with stock speakers(3.5's on the dash, 6x9's on the front doors and rear deck). I have a Crescendo s800.4 which I will be running 2 Crescendo FT1's tweeters(replacing the 3.5's), and 6.5 PWX's(replacing the ones on the front doors). How would i wire them to the amp so i can have them for the front channel as i will have my stock rears running off my deck until i upgrade those down the road. The FT1's are 8ohms and the 6.5's are 4 ohms. My subs will be 2 FI BL's running off the BD2000 from Crescendo.

So I have found some things messing up in my tahoe. I have two 21" death penalty's pushed by a new 40.1 and it is murdering my tahoe. Do I tone it down and go with a ""SQL"" setup with something like a pair of lethal injection 12's or keep going the way I am and have a junker for a daily driver. Or do I break out my 88 s10 blazer which already has a layer of damp pro all over and custom door pods and great kenwood hu in it, just sitting out back wasting away, and build a clamshell wall for it? Only problem with it is it has a old under powered small block 305 in it and when you turn the a/c on it overheats. Could I find alternators and beakers for it? Or…

Hello everyone, I am designing my own box and was hoping someone could review it. Goal was no smaller than 4 cu ft. Its an 18" Treo SSX rebuilt by PSI. Treo recommended 50cu in. of port, BUT i told them I was using aero ports and they still recommended the same..? I was always under the impression they didnt need as much port? This design is 1x 8" port = 50 cu in. I can't figure out another configuration to hit 40 cu in, if 50 is to much. Tuned to about 35hz. (see attached) Any help is appreciated Sketchup for box.skp

Hi guys, so I connected a 12" kicker cvr to my hifonics 1000.1D on the bridged terminals on the amp but at the same time I connected a Rockford p3 8" on the two remaining terminals on the amp. I noticed that my kicker isn't hitting as hard. I'm curious to know if the connected could possibly causing me to have a loss of power?

Does anybody know of any places that sell quality mdf rings? I want some rings made for some 6 3/4 mids. The only reason why I'm not trying to make them is because I don't have the tools. I would hate to buy all the tools needed just to make a ring or too. I know those tools would collect dust. So, I would rather just pay someone because its easier for me.... Yes, I know about the swelling of mdf when wet. I plan on treating them with rubberized undercoating and applying dampener to fully cover the ring.

I was giving a friend a demo, nothing outrageous, basically just how I listen to it daily. In the middle of it, the bass got real quiet... I look back and I saw one (didn't see the other) sub was going crazy excursion. I start to smell a very bad burning smell coming, like big time, so something definitely happened. I check the amp, it's not hot, nor is smoke coming out, and the smell isn't really coming from the amp. I get home, my amp is sitting at 1.9 ohms (usually always .7 ohm), then check my subs: Coil 1&2: 1. imp was fluctuating like crazy 2. Coil was jumping a little between 1.7 to 1.9. Coil 3&4: 3. imp was fluctuating like crazy. 4. Couldn't even get …

Already ive had this setup in my mind for a while now. The reason for doing this is that I travel alot and sometimes might need my whole trunk. So when im about to go to travel all i would have to do is simply unhook the speaker wires from the sub and now that my amps will be safe. I know alot of people like to have there amps mounted to the back of the seats but if i need to fold my seats down or have stuff in the trunk that might damage the amps i do not want that to happen. Just wondering everyones opinion on how this setup would work. Would they be safe under there? And remain stable when going over speed bumps ect Well here is what i had in mind edit: also does it…

I wasn't sure if I should put this in Music or General Audio. I think it fits in both so I just stuck it here but please correct me if I am wrong. This is probably a stupid question but... Where can I get a CD or DL anything containing 10Hz-60Hz tones? I am trying get more into SPL and I wanna start testing different ports. The reason I want so low is because I have a 20Hz port for fun . I tried Bass Mekanik but it doesn't go as low and the tones kind of fade in and out (it's weird) and I can't find anything on iTunes. PLEASE HELP lol. Thanks!

Equipment: 2 Xcon 12's (dual 1's) on a Incriminator Audio 40.1 at 1 ohm (3600 watts rms at 12v on stable electrical), pioneer 5900ib First off, I came home today and I decided to do a little testing on the Xcon's where I could actually see them. I noticed that the subwoofer farther away from the port has much more excursion (xmax) than the one close to the port. I feel like this might have something to do with a ported box where the port is on one side, but I'm not entirely sure. I also noticed that the one with more excursion is getting hot, (one close to the port is warm but not hot). This concerns me, I feel like it points to one being at a different resistance tha…

  25. Recently bought my Mechman 240a alternator for my truck. I'm curious as to what you guys do as I'm getting some pretty bad advice from a forum I visit often. It's about 50/50 some people say to fuse while others say don't. Some even call me lazy for thinking of not fusing. It's hard to figure it out when everyone has a different opinion. Mechman told me NOT to fuse it as it could introduce voltage drop across the fusing and it's not needed. Some others tell me my vehicle will burn to the ground. I have all the fuses and holders from KnuKonceptz but if it'll be fine without a fuse I have no issues not using one, makes it easier. So, what's the verdict on here? What d…
