I've been looking at peoples builds that involve walls. My question is could you just build a box and stand it up to facing forward then seal it off? How come you have to secure the box so much when its walled but when you have it laying normal it doesn't have to be?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me or help point me in the right direction on calculating power for the system I plan on building this winter I was wondering what the math problems to figuring out your reserve(batteries), usage(amplifiers) and charging(alt.) would be? And was wondering if there are any websites or post I could check out to find this info?

  4. I have a small problem, I have two plates that will be joined with Lamello biscuits at a 45 degree angle. I have found some solution that uses tape at one side, but I feel that it will not put enough pressure on the plates. Does someone know a good way to clamp them together? edit:; I forgot to mention that the end of the plates that will be used to join them together are cut at a 22,5 degree angle.

I can't believe i am making this thread but there is something not right and evidently i have forgotten. I had this problem before but it was like 4yrs ago and i cant remember what i did. Ok here it goes- I have a sundown 100.4 I am playing a 600hz tone. I hooked up a speaker to chan 4 only to make sure it would output power, it does fine, i even played some music on it so i know the amp works fine. Now, i connect the probe from the oscope to the positive terminal of chan 4 and the ground clamp of the oscope to the negative of chan 4. When i connect just the positive, i get this crazy wave form. When i connect the ground clamp, ... nothing changes. If i connect the groun…

  7. I figured I only have one chance to do it right, so I thought it would be best to ask. I had planned on using my circle jig with my dremel but because of the design, I can't get the jig to sit flush with the surface to be cut. What's the best method to cut a hole for 6.5" and 1" tweeter?

  17. I am building a ported enclosure and am wondering how everyone paint their ports all the way to the back. I have thought about painting the port before i put the box together but i just wanted to make sure there wasn't a better way to do it. My port is pretty small, 2.5" to be exact, so I cannot reach my spray gun inside it.

So I finally figured out roughly what I will be doing, probably a single 15" BL ported. How should I position these in my trunk. I know the typical is subs and ports facing the rear of the car. More than likely I will almost always have the back seats down, should this affect the way I point my subs and port. Should I go subs facing forward with port foward if my seats are always down, or subs facing the rear of the car and port facing the front of the car. Thanks for the help and patience with me.

  19. Ok I promised a tuturial on how to package a heavy item so here it is. I recently had a pair of Shocker Sig Motors ( 80lbs Each) shipped to me. I explained to the shipper my technique and once again it worked flawlessly. Motors before shipment First thing you need to do is locate a box that is around 2-3 inches larger than the item you are packaging all the way around. Then you stuff the bottom of that box with a layer of foam pool floats (yes the kind like this) after stuffing the bottom full of noodles sit the item you are shipping in the box and fill the sides with pieces of foam. After that you need to put a layer of foam on top inside that box. You want this bo…

  25. I have always wanted to try out a kicker L7 and I found a 12" Kicker S12L72 for $180 without an enclosure. Since I do not know how stiff the suspension is supposed to be on the sub since I've never owned one. How am I supposed to know if it's blown or even working correctly?
