Hi guys have a question im looking at buying a car audio battery for my system and i was told i need one that does 100 amps per hour. And i was wondering if anyone could list me some good brands out there for under 200 that puts out 100 amps per hour and tell me what is amps per hour.

Swapped my sealed fifteens for the BTL again for my listening/HT setup; super basic question, any reason not to do up firing? I have always loved the look upwards firing setups, maybe because my heart is in the trunk of an suv it seems to register just fine. the cabinet is massive, forward firing is wacky looking; I'm using the opposite side as rack for amps. Is sag an issue in a typical setup or only in setups where limits are being tested?

So let's say I want a Zcon and have 2500-3000 watts for it, and it is going in a car with a 130 alternator. What all electrically is likely needing to be upgraded (and maybe the question is not that simple?)? I think you'll need at least 0 gauge power wire, solid grounding, and probably the big 3...sound good so far? But then what is the next step people take? Bigger battery? An extra battery? Bigger alternator? Alternator and battery? So 2500 watts or so probably isn't high power to some lol, but a noob wants to know what all you get into when you start trying to feed beasts like Zcons significant power.

Sorry if this is the incorrect thread. But I wasn't sure where to put it. Ok here we go. I'm planning on upgrading a lot of the parts on my car to Carbon fiber. my question since I don't have a lot of experience is, would it be a bad idea to install a Carbon fiber Hatch on my car? The reason I'm asking is because I am unsure of the strength of carbon fiber. I don't want to put it on, just to have my system shatter or crack it or something.

I will be getting an Fi BTL 18" fully loaded sub and a saz1500d sundown amp. But in the future I hope to get another Fi BTL 18" and of course another amp. My question is, what should the size of my alternator be? Would 140 amps be ok? Or would I need more? Kyle

I was thinking about something the other day.... would love to hear some feedback A comparison of abuse each individual component takes in your typical car audio system, (10,000 watts of power for example) SUBWOOFERS- Typically, a pair of 2500–3000-watt subs on a 10k or 10k worth of power, so real close to double its rated capacity (People blow subs daily, and recon all the time, and never say a word about the product, or quality of product. They just accept its part of the game and move on) $500 sub, $150 recon kit, EVERY time it blows. Hi- I have been using a ZCON 18" for about a year now and I love it. It's powered on an IA 40.1. I have an XS D3400 & XS XP3000 for a battery set up, and the stock 120 amp alternator. I've gotten it down so that the sub won't heat up during normal use and it's fairly loud. It get's a bit louder when I can crank it up but it also heats right up since my electrical begins to sag. I am working at a decently paying job for the summer and have decided I can either buy an additional ZCON 18" and making a new box or get a 300 amp singer alternator. I can only do one upgrade at this time, though both is obviously best. What would you guys think would be more beneficial (l…

ok, so my system is actually starting to come together. i still do not know as much as i should to own a btl.. but i bought it thinking i did to relize when i got on here how deep i got my self into when i purchased it. i never really relized how amazing this woofer really is until everyone on this amazing forum have taught me. now i know most subs are held down with regular screws but how should i mount my sub. my friend has an 18 inch q and keeps breaking screws, whats a good way to secure my sub down without breaking screws left and right. and my last question is would my electrical hold up with one Deka Intimidator Battery 9A31 and the big 3 for a rf t30001bd ?? any …

So I don't live in a bad neighborhood, but I just bought an amp that cost me over $1K, and I plan on spending a lot on speakers and subs, but I am just going to bolt those down. As for the amp, what would be the best way of locking it down? I thought about a bullet proof glass case(with holes for venting), but ventilation would still suck, I have thought about just putting 2 long steel bars across it and bolting them down on each side of the amp, but I am undecided. I thought it would not hurt to come here and see what everyone else has done to protect their equipment.

Ok, I just bought my new car, a bright red 1993 Volvo 850 GLT with tan leather and a 5 spd. The cars great, but its lacking in the sound department. Ok, I have a MINT condition Alpine CDA-7875 head unit (BBE, V-Drive, etc) that I want in this car, how do I hook it up? I have put this head unit in 4 different cars so far so im not an idiot, but Circuit City told me you couldnt put a head unit in this car without rewiring EVERYTHING in the car due to an internal amp. Now, my 240SX had internal amps and all I did was hook up the remote turn on wire to the one on the HU and it worked great. Anyoen have a wiring diagram? I have been wondering to myself if i should tearout my current system and start over with something else... I have my 2 Fi Bl 18's 2008models and have been thinking of going back to 12's.. I have 6 alpine type r 12 just sitting around doing nothing...I would like to buy 4 sundown sa-12's.. I'm not sure how they compare to the type r's, i have not used any sundown products before.. I have wanted to maybe due a blowthrough or a clamshell design, but I can't seem to find a canopy for my truck.. All suggestions welcome..Thanx guys Jay

I was talking to a guy in an audio shop and he was telling me about how each vehicle has a specific hz range which if you have your box set to that hz, that your subwoofer would sound louder in your vehicle. Which of course, the box would have to be built to the spec of the subwoofer. For example, if you have a blazer and its "specific hertz" (lets say it's 40hz), so if you have the box tuned @ 40hz then your sub would be playing at optimum loudness in a blazer. Is this true or false?

my boss wants me to build him a nice center channel for his house, cause i do all the car audio for everyone at the shop. but what does a center channel consist of? isn't it usually like 2 4's and a tweet, or something like that? what freq range does this channel need to cover. is there any other pertinant information that i should know before attempting to build this?

i haven't done anything with audio in months, and i'm wanting to make a new box.. just making sure everythings right, as i didn't know much to begin with lol. To get the vent length, i'm using: . Is that right? it seems like theres a ton of equations for the same thing, and i dont know which one to trust. The other question is that with Vb, am i using the volume of the box, including the port, or do i subtract the port from the volume? The second seems hard to do if what i'm trying to do is to find out how much volume the port is going to take up... Thanks for reading, and maybe answering :bigclap:
