My 15" ssd and my box weigh a ton and its bringing my rear end down a lot.. I am thinking of downgrading to a lighter setup.. like a cvr 12 for example in a 1.5cuft sealed box, but I am keeping the kicker 750 ill just keep the gain down. Would it be terrible? I'm not a bass addict I just need some kind of low end so I don't go crazy.

  2. Does any one here own a dd9515g that is 2 ohm? f so how do you wire it down to 1 ohm? I know you have to connect both positives and bot negatives. But this thing doesnt say which is positive and which is negative. And the way it connects is weird. Pictures of to wire it down to 1 ohm would be great if anyone has any. It will be powered by a Exile 2400.1 amp BTW. Does anyone know wether or not this amp is any good???

Hi guys, within the next couple weeks I'll be getting my new amp that is a mono with only 1 set of speaker inputs (1 + and 1-). I have 2 speakers. Any ideas on how to mate the wires with the amp? My thought was to just get a couple of distro blocks instead of cramming wires into the amp. Thanks For all you info freaks I will be wiring it this way: (4 ohm-----4 ohm) (4 ohm----4 ohm) (2 ohm) (2 ohm) (1 ohm) Another p…

  4. So I'm building a box for my BTL this next weekend. I've ordered two 3/4"x9"x18" sheets of plexiglass, and two of these 3w high powered wide angle LEDs on an aluminum base. They'll be going inside the box, and you'll be able to see the badass backside of the BTL while its playing. They're the same ones Steve Meade used in the 2x T15K Escalade build, so I know they're going to be super bright. Here is Plasma LEDs site if anyone is interested. My question, I've heard people talk about before a control module that you could get that you could plug into your RCAs to make your LEDs flash to the beat. Does anyone know where I can find one? I've searched and come up with nothin…

  5. hello all, my name is Marco, this is my first posting. I have recently gotten my hands on a DD 9515g d2. I've never had a sub this massive and i've never used aero ports. Im a DIYer to the max, which is why i created this thread. My purposes with this sub is for DAILY ""SQL"". Im working with either a SAE-1000 or my old MTX 1501d and hope it will run at 1ohm after my BIG 3 upgrade, either one will suffice. So here's my project. Im building a middle console box for my full size Chevy ext. cab. I've already done one in my old standard cab fullsize with a 2512 d4 with the 1501d on it and it the output was incredible. Im gonna try to get 4 cubes with ports i…

  7. Hey guys I'm saving up for the BTL 15" setup as I stated before in a different topic.. I'm running into quite a few money issues and the process is sadly being delayed for me which really sucks for now I just have 2 12" kicker CVR's doing around a weak 115 in a sealed box.. I heard MANY great things about ported boxes and want to try to build one but I'm just 17 and never done this before and I figure now is a great time to learn. I went to www.homedepot.com to try and find some 3/4th" MDF wood as someone on here told me to do but was unable to find any as far as the -online site- goes. I know building another sealed box is easy just 4 panels and 2 12" holes in one very …

Struggling to get my head round this. I've got 1 battery up front. Then I've got/will have 6-8hawkers in the footwells. Most likely to be 2 behind drivers seat, 2 behind passenger seat and 2 in the front footwell. I'll only be using the hawkers when showing off or at shows. I've got two sundown saz-3500s & ATM 1 phd 2200. Cable wise I've got 25-30m of 50mm2 & a 5m run of 150mm2. What is going to be the best way of wiring this up? Also how would you fuse it? That's going to be a lot of fuses if I put one inbetween each battery. Anyone used these. http://www.blueheronmarine.com/files/BlueSea_2009_Fuses.pdf

Hey guys my name is Alex I'm 17 and have been very addicted to car audio my whole life even hooking them up in my room etc. However I have a 1994 Buick Lesabre currently running 2 12" kicker comps in a sealed box doing barely 110 dbs which to alot of people is very low so I want to upgrade to 1 15" fi btl fully loaded dual 2 ohm to wire it at 1 ohm p chamfer, cooling, hixmcoil, daily, i heat ring, non universal, white dust cap were the options I thought were the best ones. Here is the issue I need a box that will give me the best SPL/db readings possible sound quality is not a huge issue for me the box will be in a sealed trunk very little air gets in the car with the bac…

Hey guys, I just finished installing a new system in my 08 Infiniti G37 Coupe, and it sounds great. I will upload some pics later, but I installed a cleansweep, a Sundown 100.2, a Sundown 1500d, phoenix gold rsd components in the front, and an RE SE 10. The RE 10 sounds good, but I know that the 1500 can do alot more than it is currently doing, and I would like to get a new 10 inch that would take 1000-1500 @ one ohm. I listen to mostly rock music, but I really listen to everything. I am not looking for huge numbers, but I do like alot of bass. I know it is a tall order to get a 10 incher to pressurize well, especially in a trunk. As far as box size, I can probably …

  16. Hey fellow SSA members, tonight i am devoted to learn this to the fullest, so there will be a lot written.. and questions as i go along, big thanks goes out to ANeonRider because this is all based off his How To: Set your Amplifier Gain - SSA Car Audio Forum (I'll be working at the thread for about 30min to an hour before posting) THIS IS GOING TO HAVE QUESTIONS THAT ARE DUMB... but i need to ask them to get it clear and have no doubts. To figure out what voltage you should set the gains to, multiply the RMS power of the amplifiers output by the impedance of the speaker, then find the square root of that number. -- I'm going to be using: PDX 4.100 Alpine Type R comps *4 …

I'm sure there are a ton of these posts, but I figured I'd throw mine out there and get some insight. Kinetik HC1400 JVC El Kameleon 12" AA Havoc Sundown 1500D Clarion DPX2251 DLS Ultimate UP6i RaaMmat BXT I mainly listen to rock/metal, and I need to have high volume levels with as little distortion as possible. The thing I'm concerned about the most is the 'DLS' speakers. As far as I've searched, (just about everywhere,) they've gotten rave reviews. My prior selection was a set of Focal 165KRX2's, so the DLS setup is a huge drop in price. The cost isn't all that big of a deal, but it does play a factor. Any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated. However, i…

  19. So today i went to replace my girlfriends hifonics bxi 610 with my old rd 1000.1 v1 amp. Before i made the swap she said sub was playing. After i swap the amps i go to tune the amp by ear and absolulately zero output from the sub. So i grab my dmm and turn it to the ohms setting, with the car off it reads .9-1.1 but when i turn the car on it goes to -23-25. first i think maybe the sub has a bad lead or something so i go grab another perfectly working sub and get the same results. Then i was thinking its gotta be the amp then so i switch them back, same results on both subs and both amps. So now shes without beats and its all my fault of course so i wont hear the end of it…

My question is, what type of bolt would be best for power/signal transfer? -Standard Steel -Stainless Steel -Brass -Aluminum -Chrome -Grade 8 Steel -Copper (not sure I can find it) There is just so many options and I don't know what to choose. Thanks All

I just bought a used JL Audio cleansweep and installed it tonight, but I do not have the calibration cd. If anyone happens to have the CD, could you rip it for me and email it to me. I think the only track I need is #1. My email addy is [email protected]. I would be most appreciative. I know that I can get the CD from JL, but I would like to have the track as soon as possible. Thanks so much!
