So I am helping a friend install a new system into his car. Right now we are looking at running either a single 12 pushing 2k watts to it or running 2 10's, each with 1k watts. Question.....a very loud SPL oriented daily driver is the goal, would the 2 10's be better do to sheer cone area or would the 12 be better???? I am thinking the 2 10's but I want to double check to be on the safe side before I tell him wrong. ----------------------------------------------- 2 10" BL's or 1 12" BTL

Sorry for the massive pics. Deal with it. Stock deck: Alpine CDA-9813: Kicks with trim rings mounted: Kicks ... fleeced style: Resined kicks: Driver side before: Driver side after: Passenger side before: Passenger side after: Painting in progress: My makeshift paint booth (hey, it was windy): Resin smells. Bondo is the biggest pain in the ass ever ... so I quit, sanded half assed, and painted - so yes, there's flaws right now. But I'll make them perfect eventually. Ignore the wires, they're hidden now. CL-61's if you're wondering. Make sure to use enough resin to soak ALL the way through the fleece ... it takes a LOT to do this. Hmmm what else ... oh, th…

Hello, again. I was just wondering if anybody knew the names to these parts of the car because I need to replace them. The first one is the cover in the back of a sedan (2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT) that has the hole for the seatbelts to come through. Anyone happen to know the name of that? The other one is on the front passenger side. It's the piece most people use to hide their wires. While installing my new system, I broke a clip off of each part so now the pieces wont stay in correctly. I was just wondering if anybody knew the names of these parts so I could purchase new ones. Also, do you think eBay has these? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if this is con…

  4. So let's say I want a Zcon and have 2500-3000 watts for it, and it is going in a car with a 130 alternator. What all electrically is likely needing to be upgraded (and maybe the question is not that simple?)? I think you'll need at least 0 gauge power wire, solid grounding, and probably the big 3...sound good so far? But then what is the next step people take? Bigger battery? An extra battery? Bigger alternator? Alternator and battery? So 2500 watts or so probably isn't high power to some lol, but a noob wants to know what all you get into when you start trying to feed beasts like Zcons significant power.

Does anybody know of any places that sell quality mdf rings? I want some rings made for some 6 3/4 mids. The only reason why I'm not trying to make them is because I don't have the tools. I would hate to buy all the tools needed just to make a ring or too. I know those tools would collect dust. So, I would rather just pay someone because its easier for me.... Yes, I know about the swelling of mdf when wet. I plan on treating them with rubberized undercoating and applying dampener to fully cover the ring.

I know the big 3 can't hurt, but I'm on a super tight budget. I have a nissan maxima which apparently has a 100amp alternator. My set up includes a D-class mono amp that is rated at 340rms at 4ohms. I'll also be running a set of front components off an A/B two channel that does 100rms per channel at 4ohms. So playing it safe and rounding up, thats about 600rms total. Is it worth it to do the big 3? I was considering doing it in 4g, or just waiting to do it when I get more money down the road after a few month. I just dont want any heavy voltage drop or headlight dimming. What do you think? Thanks!

  17. Meade got me motivated but he hadn't made his yet. Here's Hustla Baller and Run Quickly. I had to open all the doors all the way, open the moon roof, and it still had room for more excursion and it still clipped and started to stink. I emailed Scott about a dual 1 recone since a 2500.1 doesn't look to be in the near future. But, while I was bangin, some dudes heard it and one came to take pics/vids along with me, said he was friends with a local shop and gave me his number and email. I wish Meade could have hooked me up, at least he pointed me in the right direction though Oh, Bobbie (my new friend) asked "You mean the Jackhammer?" when I said " I'm gettn a 22". I laughe…

So I'm competing in MECA this year (been going to the comps the last year but never had my subs in when i went) and I'm building my daughter a power wheels for MECA Kids. shes in the 5 and under class so I can only run a single 8 and no bigger than a 20a fuse to the amp. So I picked up a cheap h/u and a pair of 4x6 were given to me. I'm getting a memphis 50.2 to run the sub, just because I know the punishment my friends and I have put these amps through. So my 2 questions are this. 1, What battery would you use with limited space to keep it playing. I found Kinetik HC600 for 60 bucks new online and figured it was a pretty good candidate since it fit in the limited room I …

So, last night I was cleaning up my amp and re-wiring some stuff and fried my amp. Done for. Hifonics Bxi 1206d. Today I finally get my FI btl 12 fully loaded ! YES. I am putting it in it's custom box and i slipped while drilling it in and drill right though the rubber surrounding dust cap. I am very very very very very pissed. Does anyone have any solutions? i believe you can replace just the dustcap right? Also if anyone wants to sell a saz 1500/3000 let me know. Thanks/.

So I am running whats in my sig and hit a 147.4 @ 36hz so far. My subs get hot pretty quickly and my goal is to hit 150. I'm sure I could get better numbers with another box as mine is for daily driving music but I like that. I was thinking of trying a new box just to see the difference for now but I'm also thinking of going with a single sub setup as space is limited in my little ranger. If I were to go with a single sub, I was thinking of something with more power handling like a BTL N3 in 15" or 18". Either way, I would like daily 150's. I am very open to suggestions and recomendations. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
