I have 10-8 inch and 6-10 inch PRV audio speakers. I have Taramps HD8000 2ohm running all 16 speakers. My question is will I get better performance from all 16 speakers if I separate the 8's and 10's to different amps? It does get reasonable but in my opinion I have heard smaller systems get louder with less power.

  2. So about 4 months ago i bought Two Pioneer TS-d1720c Speakers and i had them wired directly to my headunit, They worked great but everyone told me to buy an aftermarket amp and they will sound a lot better. So about a month later i decided to buy the Alpine MRV-F300 amp to wire my speakers too. I got everything hooked up to the new amp but for some reason i felt like my speakers sound better when they were wired to the headunite instead of the new amp ( //Example// I felt like my bass coming from my speakers sounded a lot fuller when they were wired to my headunite. When i had them wired to my aftermarket amp, The bass was kinda flat) . I asked 100 questions on a few …

  3. I have always wanted to try out a kicker L7 and I found a 12" Kicker S12L72 for $180 without an enclosure. Since I do not know how stiff the suspension is supposed to be on the sub since I've never owned one. How am I supposed to know if it's blown or even working correctly?

  5. Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but its the only one where I see it fit. But anyway, I've been waiting since May 3rd for my two 12" SSA Xcons, order status has been at "awaiting shipment" every since then. It is now june 16th, and I feel like driving to the build house in Nevada and helping them build my xcons in order to speed up the process lol. I have been emailing SSA often (sorry to the guys at SSA if I've been a little aggravating lol I've just been very excited to hear these subs) and all they can tell me is "you will have them shortly". Just wondering, for you guys that have maybe placed SSA subwoofer orders either late April, or early May, have you recie…

  6. As the title says, looking for pointers installing in a Grand National for a buddy. He has had the car forever, drives it often and wants some improved audio. The plan is to do no un-reversable mods to the vehicle, will be installing a DIN head unit in place of the stocker (that is going in the closet), change out the door speakers in the Concert Sound II pods for some 5.25" components, throw a sub and amp rack in the trunk. Seeing as sandt38 has a few of these cars, hope he can provide some insight.

Just scooped a '98 Mountaineer this morning. Has the 5.0, it's AWD; feels good to be off the shoelace express Plans are a singer 240a, some royal excelene, a juicebox 20ah under the hood, Three SI mag v3 12's sealed (amp undecided), silver flute 8's in the doors, and hlcd's under the dash on a PPI 900.4. Doors first, but intend to fully dampen the cabin, mlv, ccf, cld, and foam. Want to sniff out an 80prs and snag a minidsp also. I'm so geeked.

I'm currently using two 18in btln2 on an xs8k in a 05 Hyundai Tucson enclosure was design by ram. I demo often with my four doors open and it sound great but there's a problem with loading when my doors are open I loose the deep sounding bass that I love. I'm either going with a ported wall down the center or a 4th order band pass. I'm worried that with the port being so close to the door that I'll have the same problem with loading that's why in considering band pass. New sub will either be the team fi or dc lvl6. So my question is what sub and orientation would best suite me app? If any....lol!

I've got a small trunk space to work with. I'm looking to do 1 12 ported or 2 10s sealed. I listen to mainly rap a little metal then whatever fits the mood. Sub budget around 250. Amp budget around the same. What are some good options with the given info?

Like 10 years awhile, it's good to be back here and poking around at everything thats going down. Putting a new system together in my truck and have a couple questions. I have the option to use 6x9 components in my front doors, are they worth it these days or should I just stick with 6.5's? Looks like RE Audio and Kicker make a few different 6x9 components, I would most likely go with the RE's if I went that route. The IA componets look enticing for the price as well. Does anyone have much experience with Double Cab Tacoma's and what can be stuffed behind the seat? I'd loved to be able to fit a Single ported 12" with space for the Amp / Crossovers. Thanks a head of …

  18. I have no headunit, no need for a $50 harness but after having no chimes for the first time today I realized this means no blinker noise or low gas warning. I'd like to restore that, but it would be the ONLY output I'd need from the harness making me not want to buy one. Of course, if the signal is only over the CAN bus and has no analog counterpart it'll cost me something, but was curious if anyone has rednecked a good solution? And yes, I'll still have a stereo in the Escalade (2010) but it'll be a carputer and no headunit.

Hey guys Im in need of some advice. I'm currently piecing together a setup which will be in a Trailblazer SS. So far I have my two BL 15s fully loaded (newer versions), JL 0/1 awg, and will be powered by a Crescendo BC3500d. I plan on buying a mechman 240 alt, xs power 3400 for under the hood and 3100 for out back. I'll probably have car tunes build my since they did a great job last time. I'm aware I should be running dual 0/1 for the batteries so I will but what else am I missing or should also do? Currently have 12 awg for the subs, should I go bigger? Also will my battery setup work fine at idle without crazy voltage drop? What about dual amp inputs? Any help and advi…

  25. So I bought a Tantric HD 12 d2 a week ago and received it yesterday. Today I went to put it in my 2.5 cu enclosure and I am having a problem with the sound/voltage. It doesnt drop ( to maybe low 14s) and something is definitely wrong. I had a problem similar to this last week when I realized my coils on the mayhem were toast. Voltage drop with zv4 was to around 12 volts. The way it is playing seems as if it wired very high. What I did: -Checked coils on sub (read 2.4ohm each) -impedance at the output terminals is 1 ohm (car off) -o-scoped the rca's and output voltage (clean) - free aired the sub and notice no coil rub at all (seems as if not getting full power) and it s…
