well to start off, i have two 12's bumpin off a 2 chan. 350w visonik amp @ 4ohms i know it isnt much, but in order to get the 800w mtx i am lookin at i need something that wont clip out at medium power... please help me out here i need something to bump with til i can get a car (only 2 years!!)

ok, i got a hatchback and about 8-9 cubes to put it in. 2 RE 12' HC's and am gonna build a big enclosure. what do u recommend for the box size, and wat it should be tuned to. i listen to lots of rap and occasionally rock. ty in advance. Sorry im still a newb lol.

I have a Autotek Street Machine 1000.1RMS Mono Amp, and getting a 13.5'' W7. Will my amp be enough to power it? Alot of people have the 13.5'' w7 with a JL 1000/1 amp. I dont want to spend too much and upgrade to a better bigger amp. let me know thanks!

So I have now went through 2 sets of Focal components. First went one of my tweets, so I replaced both (upgraded to newer version). then went one of my door woofers several weeks later(again replaced them and upgraded to a newer version as well as newer crossovers.) So now im going to start a anti-focal epidemic in my car. I currently have an alpine fully ipod deck the IDA-X001 or something. (the first version) and am running a Alpine PDX 300.2 with a Rockford Fosgate 360.1 sound processor. What do you recommend for the next set? and Any suggestion or is it just bad luck with focal? The leads keep burning off and you can smell them so idk if I need something a bit beafier…

I was looking around last night for some 5.25s and i found a ad with a 6 ch. amp and a 4 ch. amp along with 3 sets of 5.25 component sets all old school audio art and 2 sets of pioneer 6.5'' midbass for $150 for everything. it's a round trip 7 hr. drive to pick it all up. Is it worth the drive and $150 i don't know much abouth the audio art brand. also the components are new in the box.

Alright well i finally got some cash and am looking to upgrade. Right now i'm looking at 2 Sundown SA-15's but i'm at a loss for what amp to run. I will set my gains right and I've heard these things are really beastly so I was thinking something in the 3k range? If anyone has some amp options or maybe even different subs. I have $450 for subs and around $350 for an amp. I realize the SA-15s are a bit more than $450 but I don't mind an extra $20. I have 2 18s in seperate enclosures. I was told by some others that my ports where to small on my boxes. I had them tuned to about 31hz..so I made them bigger. Should be around 36-37 according to Torres..at the same time I bought a used DD z1 amp and hooked it all back up. Its sounds like shit..wont hit lows for shit. Do you think I tuned to high, or did I get a bad amp? Wtf

I've recently acquired a 96 LS400. After reading about how the wiring of this particular model I feel like I could easily tap into the Factory Headunit signals and run the wiring needed to power and signal to my trusty Sax.100.4. The plan so far is to keep the factory headunit, upgrade the subwoofer, eventually upgrade the front components, use the 4 channel to power the sub and front speakers and use the factory amp to power the rear door speakers that can be faded off if necessary. I'm not sure what to do about the sub section. This model has a 8" sub mounted in the rear deck, powered by a 30ish watt amplifier. I would like more bass than this factory setup can …

i gotta guy wanting me to a build for him in his 73' caprice convertible and i need some suggestions! he wants to go big but he doesn't like ported boxes for some odd reason. now he's seen my other builds and he expects it to be as loud as those. i might be able to convince him to go ported but it really has to slam. here's the catch, it all has to be in the trunk! but the good news is he has an open wallet. im thinkin 8-12" sa's and about 12000 watts rms. any suggestions out there?

Can anyone help me ? I am trying to run the factory video sound thru my head unit. Now I am new to this so be easy with the terms and all . So after I installed my DD 9512g, its been knocking off my rear view mirror. I think this is the fourth time that it has came off. Its really not that loud to be doing this. It came off at Scraping the Coast 2010 and it took a piece of the windshield with it!!!!! I always use permatex extreme adhesive. I don't know what else to do now. Any ideas? Im thinking it might be due to the vibration in my floor translating to the windshield. My floor vibrates a lot along with my side mirrors and door panels.

Hello friends charles here and I need to talk to some one on the phone about my dimension of my box to be sure that I have the right measurements for my box before I start making it. H 22.5 x L 46 x D 28 now I want the two tc sound lms 18' subs that I have to be facing up with the ports in this box. My port is 4 x 21 this gives me 84. I want the box to be tuned to 35 hz. Is this right and how long should this be from the bottom of the box to work? Is it possible or do I do have to have the subs facing towards the back door. I have a 03 yukon. I have an MB quart 4.80 running 6.5" 3 way infinity kappas in the front and infinity kappas 3 way 6x9s in the rear. Each has a 2 ohm nominal on each channel of the amp. If I bought some crescendo super tweets would I be able to wire them and still make a difference to my front stage? I am planning on upgrading my 4 channel in the future to a Hertz or quality 4 channel after I get my alternator this winter. Should I just wait until I upgrade my 4 channel and just buy a component set?

hey nice place! i have slowly been putting money back into my car with pretty solid results. i was wondering what advice or comments you have for the next step. i took some time away from car audio and got the home system going. My home system took the cake and i just had to upgrade the car. i drive a 97 4 door grand am with no tint. alpine 9827 - upgraded the 4x6 in the front doors with polk momo 5 1/4. i upgraded my mono -mrv100 alpine amp with a 5 channel alpine-353. for $115 new. i have a pair of infinity refrence 6x9's in the back that have been used for 6 years. they need to go and i was looking at ebay for some momo's. and my sub is one of the older polk d…

I think I finally decided on a set up. Please tell me if this is optimal for my situation or if im going overboard. The car is a bmw 5 series, the sub will be in the trunk. The trunks tend to be sealed very well in these cars so I need the sub to penetrate. I listen to mainly hippity hop and rap. I want the best of both worlds trunk space left and good sound. 10" ICON ported box probably built to specs of the optimal one in the tech section sax1200d what do you guys think. The only thing I was thinking to change was to go with a cheaper amp. Any reccomendations?

I have a 2002 s10 reg cab and i started the box today. It will house a single sound splinter Rl-p 15" sub (hopefully, I think i have it figured where I can do it) if not, then a single 12" Rl-p sub. Either will be run off a JL 500/1. figured out the pix!!!

the other day with ecromeans i noticed my voltage was low... so today i went for a ride and i got in my car and my voltage was 11.5, with my a/c headlights and stereo on low. i put in in gear with my foot on the break and i dip to 10 volts... o no. i fliped a bitch and went back home.. i poped my hood and manualy triped my breaker, then my voltage jumped up to 13.8 with my lights on and the radio on low.. i checked my conections to all my cells.. thay were all tight... i reset myt breaker and i dip back down to 11. volts.... any one got any other ideas? the only thing i can see is one of my three cells are bad... or my h/o alt is going out.

Alright I think im done with loud bass.... I found a 15" MK2 Brahma for a good price and im gonna get it. What would be good to run that sub on for a SQ setup? Also how can i bring the quality of the sound in my blazer up?

Well I started my first car audio install, after not knowing anything half a year ago, thx to forums and helpfull ppl I learned and decided to do everything myself, and I was very carefull unhooked battery, made sure ground points are good, took my time untill I did a big mistake..... ......I installed Sundown 100.4 and Sundown 125.2 and Pioneer PRS880, hooked everything up and wanted to set the gains the dmm way.
