hi Dudes/Dudedettes -Is te Box tool on this site any good? -Should I look somewhere else if I want to do it propperly? -If I use this tool on the site; do I have to over build it to compinsate for sub displacement and of course bracing? -What other (free) tools do you guys use that are easy to use and if you have paid for it how much and was it worth it? thanks, i am sure this will help others out there as well.

I have hit a phase where now I love classical music. All the cds I have sound, unfort, less than par. Does anyone know of any good classical music cds that sound like they are almost recorded with modern day technology? Really lookin for the great classics, like 1812 overture, but have had no luck going to any shops around my area.....they carry hardly any classical. Help would be great. I figured some of you SQ lovin guys have to hit up classical music once in a blue moon.

Ok, so I've done a lot in car audio, and have used a dmm to set gains before, but it was a cheap one from radio shack and i don't feel it was really worth crap even using. Never blown any speakers, but also know I've never had a perfectly correctly set gain on an amp. I just do it by "feel", "sound" and performance. natural abilities you may say, complete crap you may even say! lol but hey it's worked so far but i'm tired of trusting myself. What oscilloscope has anyone used? know of? how much? where? and what will do the trick/be best for setting gains? Thanks in advance i'm very interested!

Might be a ridiculous question but i'd rather be safe than sorry. Is it an alright idea to mount my amp directly on the top of my box. Never really see it so i figured i'd ask. Just to throw it out there it will be a Sundown SAZ-2000D on a box for a Fi BTL 15". Thanks.

my bro is getting his 2008 charger sys installed. he has the subs 2 spl15 but they will need space so the box will be built into the trunk. what do ya'll think of this price? the total quote was 2200: the amp is a memphis mojo 2500 $1300 the box is $300 yellow top batt $200 it seems like im missing something but the rest is wiring, relay, amp rack, labor, and other miscellaneous. the only thing else included is the shop gives a 3 year warranty on everything they do, that includes the amp. we usually do this stuff ourself but this is out of our span and we he wants it to look pro' something we dont worry about when we do it.

Probably a stupid question but I'm wondering how I would go about hooking up my 15" SSD to my home stereo receiver. I think its a 100 watt per channel receiver @ 4 or 8 ohms. Just wondering if there is any way to do this or is it just stupid.

Ok, so I have an issue with going active. I currently have a head of lettuce and two salad forks going to 4 carrots and two sets of cucumbers. If I were to crossover the carrots between 60-600 hz and the cucumbers to 400-10khz would this sound good on 60rms coming from my potato? Please I need help I can come up with 2 boiled eggs and some salad dressing if I have to, but i'd like to stick between onions and celery.

Before i had only .50ft of port area in each box according to Torres. now i have about .98 which is double the port area than before. it apperently brought my tuning from about 31hz to 36 or so hz according to Torres. will this still be ok for daily? Was this a good idea or do you thing i will regret doing this? not quite finnished with this change..your thoughts.....

hey all. i recently upgraded my amp to an audiopipe ap1500d and it bangs..great amp for the price and i recommend them for anyone on a budget. i am running the amp at only about 1/4 gain which is roughly 1000 rms or a little more i believe. it is powering an ssa icon 12'' and is running at 1 ohm with one run of 1/0 and upgraded battery to chassis ground (1 of the big 3). my question is everything ok here? i know my electrical is lacking (external batt. and what not) but im away at college at the moment and have to drive home any time i want to do upgrades because my resources are limited here. i just want to make sure my amp is not being stressed and i am not hurtin…

Sorry so long. Thought this would be a good share. Email received from XS Power: Thanks for contacting us regarding the proper way to charge sealed lead acid (AGM) type batteries like the ones we produce. Unlike conventional lead acid batteries, AGM batteries are completely sealed, meaning that all of the gas and electrolyte is safely stored inside the battery. In order to keep AGM batteries in good health, and to maximize their performance and life expectancy, it is important to properly charge and maintain them. Leaving a battery (conventional or sealed) in a low state of charge over a long period of time is bad for the battery because it allo…

I have recently upgraded my sound system to a Sundown u15 D4 1500w rms, and a GK audio 3500.1D1 (3000w rms). No component speaker upgrades...YET. My stock 132 amp alternator is well on its way to being smoked. So, I am ordering a Mechman 320 amp alternator, and would like to know what size battery (that will fit in the stock position) I will need. I don't care so much about amp hours, because bumping the system isn't really a common thing without the engine running. My goal is to NOT run any type of capacitor, and I really don't want to have to add a battery in the back. I am now running an OEM duralast battery (not sure of specs) and with my weak stock altern…

ok so i am looking to get either 2 15" BLs or 2 15" Qs. i am powering them with a Rockford Fosgate 20001bd amp, which i was told throws out about 2800 watts of power when i called Rockford. i am also building a custom box outta 3/4" MDF that i'm not completely sure about dimensions for yet. now i am leaning towards the BL because even though both the BL and the Q have the same power handling, the BL i am told can take more punch, which would compensate for the 800 extra watts from the RF amp. but everyone says that the Q is all about sound quality. is the BL going to have good SQ along with it's SPL? if i can hear that the BL will have good sound quality or better, than i…

I am seriously considering purchasing the Nissan Leaf when it comes out in Oct, its an all electric vehicle. (Link to the Leaf http://www.nissanusa.com/leaf-electric-car/battery.jsp#/details) The site doesn't list any specs on the car and I can't find any details in other articles on the internets. Does anyone know any specs on this car? Not the how far it goes, how long it takes to cahrge but, will it be 12-14 volt? Will running a system in this thing just kill the charge? (Fi Q 12" rms @ 1000w, JL 1000/1 v.2, Focal K3P UV rms @ 200w, Sundown 125.2) Really if anyone knows much about running systems in electric cars at all. Thanks!

hello all, my name is Marco, this is my first posting. I have recently gotten my hands on a DD 9515g d2. I've never had a sub this massive and i've never used aero ports. Im a DIYer to the max, which is why i created this thread. My purposes with this sub is for DAILY ""SQL"". Im working with either a SAE-1000 or my old MTX 1501d and hope it will run at 1ohm after my BIG 3 upgrade, either one will suffice. So here's my project. Im building a middle console box for my full size Chevy ext. cab. I've already done one in my old standard cab fullsize with a 2512 d4 with the 1501d on it and it the output was incredible. Im gonna try to get 4 cubes with ports i…

I was looking around on some forums and i saw http://www.****/forum/showthread.php?t=61103 I wondered why you would need that, so i looked at his build log and found http://www.****/forum/showthread.php?t=64796 Wow, well i guess i can't say Car Audio classifieds. So just copy and replace the "****" with car audio classifieds So this raises a couple of questions for me, i am still new to car audio, well the big league car audio anyways. Why does he need that many 1/0 gauge wires running to his sundown amp? I understand that maybe the resistance is less but still... Do i need to do something similar? Also, i noticed he has two sets of power, how exactly does that work? Is it…
