based on a few stupid questions i asked, and countless hours of reading other people's stupid questions and the patient and knowledgable responses from regulars here i have been able to piece up a good budget system that i feel really represented exacly my goal when deciding what equipment to buy. just wanted to say thanks for all the free advice and patience. Ok guys I recently upgraded cars and I am already desperate for some bass I am restricted by space since its a convertible but I found a solution that keeps me and the gf happy Space was a huge issue so I have decided on the most bass i could get out of flat sub....nothing like my btls I will be running a single JL 13TW5 but the problem is they have a single 3ohm coil......which is really frustrating that means i cant bridge a two channel and a monoblock will not be making optimum power so i want to feed this thing 500 to 600 watts but am having trouble finding an amp that will do it, where i dont feel that I know the jl 500/1 v2 will do it but 400 dollars for a 500 doll…

Hey guys im new to the forum and just have a few questions i need help getting answered. I have 2 fi ssd 10s 2ohm dvc and i have about 220 dollars to spend on an amp. Im pretty much looking for a used amp. What amps could i find that will put out around 1200 to 1600 watts used for around 200 to 220? But if im mostly looking for a 1600 watt amp for around that price Also what are the best places to buy a cheap wiring kit that will handle that power? Hey everyone, me and a few others on Ecoustics are getting a little get together worked out right now. We have a place in York PA (eastern PA right above the MD/PA border) that we can do it at right now. But we might change the location to a place like Wilmington DE. The date we should be having it will be March 15th. Nothing is official to say just yet but we should have everything locked in place hopefully by mid to late this week. OK, I know I'm impatient, and I'm not saying SSA is taking too long, I'd rather wait for something that is going to be this awesome versus them rushing and giving me something that might fall apart. But, I was just curious the average time people waited to get their sub. 21+ days could mean 2 months for all I know. I'm trying to keep myself busy right now getting wires pulled and the box built, and hopefully time will pass faster. I'm just hoping the 14 days i've waited so far means I'm half way done:)

you guys think its worth rewiring the factory wires on the door speakers with new 16 or 18g?..do they all have to be wired to the front and then to the back ?..do they have to be wired together on a specific side for noise reduction?..thanks for the help i curently have them wired to the hu will be putting a 100 watts into each of them with a 400.4

OK, my 18 Btl is on its way for my grand am. the alternator is a 105 amp alternator. so im not sure WHAT im going to need, just that most likely i will to power it suffeciently. Buy a sony 12" component sub XSL124P5B and a sony stereo Model #: SON CDXGT320 for around 250$. And then buy four 6x9 pioneer speakers for i dont know how much. Would this system even work ? So i was just rear ended 2 hours ago at a red light. I have a 2004 chevy blazer and was the first in my lane at a red light. the guy next to me jumped and the girl behind me floored it in her dodge stratus. When it happened, my door speakers popped and do not work anymore. the fuses are all good, my amp still works as do my subs. Basically, I'm trying to think of the most cost-effective way to build a shelf that's rock-solid steady for my turntable. I've been floating a lot of ideas around in my head, from "floating" a piece of MDF in a little sandbox-type thing, to several layers of MDF on soft rubber pads, to wacky ones like a suspended magnetic table (most likely not even possible). So...I'm trying to brainstorm, need ideas for a table that's immune to vibration and help to deaden the internal vibration from the unit itself.

Well i'm new here and i'm looking on oppions for a new system this is wut i am comming off of 2 db drive platinum 15's dual 4's seal box running off an auttek 1500.1 mx amp.. sold that becuse they were both nothing but problems no for the doors i had a shop but in the only comps that they had which were the mtx 6600 series 6.5 in front n rear which the rear r suposed to be 5.25's well long story short all the tweeter burnt up but one and one 3 door speakers work. they are running off an autotek 480sx amp ok this is wut i have been looking at so far with subs 1 18 inch Eclipse SW9182Pro tc built donno wut amp i would need for that 2 mag 15's off and ia 20.1 2 arc aduio 1…

I've been trying to figure this out and figured I would put it out there for the gurus. Is there any real difference between speaker level and line level signals other than the voltage and the ability to drive a speaker level load (2-4 ohms vs 100ish or whatever for an amp). I guess what I'm really asking is this: Say we have a headunit that puts out 25 watts at 4 ohms. which by my calculation would be 10 volts. Now lets take that and plug it into an amp that can handle 10 volts (or split into two amps for 5 each). Is this fine to do or would it not work well?

Ok, within the next month or so I plan on getting a car stereo for my new car. I'm probably getting 4 alpine type component speakers, tweeters and cross overs with either a kenwood double din deck or a Power Acoustik touch screen deck to power the speakers. Now for the subs, right now Its between Fi and Dc, I'm leaning towards Fi but I'm just wondering what is the difference really between the Bl and the Dc?

Alright so i was down at the mall and took a look at the brand new 2012 Scion tc. I must say it looks beautiful, not too sure on how it performs or any issues that they have but it looked CLEAN. Im only 19 so its not like ill be able to afford one anytime soon, but it looks like such a nice car to wall . Kind of looks like a Honda CRX, but bigger and more luxury oriented. Guess i just had a bit of a daydream moment but maybe this will my my future car. Not sure yet, (Coming from a GM family, it seems odd to be this into an import.) I have two Sundown SA-12 d4 and a saz1500d v.3 and im having a little problem with what gauge wire i should be using. right now i would like to run it at 1ohm but im probably going with the 4ohm hook up. I still have my stock battery and alt and im not trying to run them down anytime soon. some people have also told me i can run them at 1ohm since i dont run my system all the time but im still a little sketchy saz1500dv.3- 1ohm =1500watt rms 4ohm=530watt rms
