I am in the process of gathering pieces to form a more SQ based setup, and would like to eliminate having to flip through cd's all the time. With high capacity portable hard drives out there running off just usb power (wd my passport, for example) and lossless .WAV files it would seem like an ideal solution is available. However, I cannot seem to find a head unit geared towards SQ that has unlimited usb recognition. My google searches come up with useless info. I wonder if anyone here knows of or has experience with such a beast. I was leaning towards the deh-p800prs (man is it sexy) until I read elsewhere that it only has like 4gb recognition(with a separate adapter…

hello i have a factory build stereo my install was done yesterday. i have hyfonics zeus zxi 6.5 component set the problem is when i raise the volume the tweeters and speakers don't produce the same voice as they produce on low volume they sound like someone has switched off the treble completely. the installer told me that this is happening because the factory stereo is not giving proper output thats why this is happening. any suggestions :-s i know my english is not good but if u don't understand me then i'll post a video after 1 hours when my dad comes back from office. regards simmer

Brother just bought a new camry Nice car stock system? HORRIBLE. Probably the worst stock system i've heard. I've decided to surprise him with a setup, but im tryin' to do this on a super super strict budget. Here's what im looking at HU - Used pioneer deh p60mp(70 shipped) Speakers - ID ctx65cs $125, Incriminator comps $119, & cadence cwm6kit $65.99. Amp - toss up between 2 us acoustic amps from audioclinic on ebay $140-160 OR a ppi sedona 5 channel $155 Sub - dcon 10 $119, or phoenix gold rsd 10 $50, 3 jbl gto 8s $150 Yay? Nay? Im picking up a new 2012 Subaru Impreza Sport Limited hatcback tomorrow or Thursday. Getting it loaded with nav, so I dont want to swap out the HU. Never did any audio stuff with a stock HU, so not sure what I should get. Do I get line out converters, or 3way crossover? I was looking at the Lanzar Vibe X6, for $35. Wondering if its cheap for a reason. Im going to be swapping out the front speakers with Crescendo CCX65s, filling in the rear with Crescendo Pro Audio mids, and want to put my Havoc 12 in the back. I have a MBQuart ONX 4.80 and 1500.1D (plan to get the new Crescendo 1100C4 at some point). Might also run XST2 super tweeters as well if they will fit in the dash…

Hey guys i just got a new Lexus is250 and planning on starting my system with adding a sub. i will be making a custom box for what ever i decide on. would like opinions on some decisions. i am attempting to stay with the SQ range i like a little volume but im sure any upgrade will give me the sound i am looking for in that respect. Sub choices so far: fi q10 aa Chaos 10 2x kicker l7 8 amp choices: kicker IX1000.1 Possiably a mcintosh mcc302 (dont know if the money would be worth it) or if there is a better priced alternative relaly need help here ok now heres the limits guys im not rich but i will spend anything for a good setup.. i will be devoting more to the front st…

i know i kinda talked about this before, but i wanted to update what i was doin. i have 2 psi 18s in seperate enclosures. Before i had only .50ft of port area in each box according to Torres. now i have about .98 which is double the port area than before. it apperently brought my tuning from about 31hz to 36 or so hz according to Torres. will this still be ok for daily? Was this a good idea or do you thing i will regret doing this? not quite finnished with this change..your thoughts.....

After what seems like forever, I finally got my box finished today, and got my BTL in my truck and hooked up. I've never heard bass like this before! This thing f***ing POUNDS! I've still not put in my upgraded alternator yet, but the T-1500 seems to be doing fine so far.

Ok so water got in one of my tweeters and I need replacements, I'm looking for soft or silk dome tweeters that sound very smooth. I would like the to come with there own crossover. I'm not going active til a little later. They will be paired with crescendos new pwx 6.5 pa speaker. I'll prolly cross the pwx at 3000hz or wherever the crossover points are on the tweet possibly. Budget is 80 and down. They will be ran on a mb quart 125.4. There are so many choices but hardly any reviews can one of you point me in a good direction?

Anyone here have an 8th generation Honda Accord? If you do what system do you have in it and what does your trunk look like? Im trying to figure out how to build a box my 12" XCON subwoofer but the trunk is so stupidly designed. its very wide towards the trunk opening then goes very narrow as you move towards the seats due the wheel wells arching up into the floor. I dont want to Kill my entire trunk space by having to build a box and put it towards the trunk opening cuz i need to use my trunk here is a picture of how the trunk looks (you can see what im talking about how stupid the design is and here is a picture of when i had my alpine type R's in them. …

I started a thread recently in which I got some good advice about specs for new box. I was told that I needed to build a new box with a higher tuning(37-39 hz) to accomodate my AQ driver. After building the new box, the driver has become irritatingly peaky. It hits a 45 hz note very well but drops off significantly on lower notes (30-32 hz). What can I do to eliminate, or atleast decrease, the peak?

Hi guys, I've been a member here for quite a while and every time I needed help with anything audio you guys know exactly what's best and offer the best advice. With that being said, I'mtrying to figure out what's best to put in a 2011 Chevy Silverado LT Crew cab under the back seat. I've found pre made boxes online for 10s and 12s, but I can't figure out what sub to pick. Nothing crazy, I don't even plan to hit over 1000Watts with two 12s. I was looking for input on what you guys would suggest? Note: probably going to be powered with what's I'm my closet (Alpine m1000). Also, if you guys know of an enclosure you think would be best definitely post it. Thanks!

alrite, ive built two boxes so far. both times i have had to recut things. he reason being is im not sure how i will piece everything together as far as screwing them together....always seems that one edge will be to wide or too long.......is there a certain way that makes a stronger box or what??? or can someone make a diagram on what way is best??? (talking about how all the edges should meet)

Alright, i'm running a fosgate p450.4 bridged on a set of polk db comps, and a fosgate p1000-1bd (1230 at 1 ohm out of the box). My alty went out shortly before I put in the new system, so I upgrade to a 130 amp alternator, if i had more money at the time would have went larger. I also got an optima yellow-top. My lights are dimming like mad, and the sub is running a little warm, it's a 15" Q with bp power so i know i'm not over-driving it. i'm guessing lucky to get 900 watts to it after voltage loss.
