based on a few stupid questions i asked, and countless hours of reading other people's stupid questions and the patient and knowledgable responses from regulars here i have been able to piece up a good budget system that i feel really represented exacly my goal when deciding what equipment to buy. just wanted to say thanks for all the free advice and patience. (i never would have ended up with a sundown saz-1500 if it weren't for ssa)

Hey guys, just recently bought a 2 channel and am now wiring or trying to wire it. i have come to the point of putting the speaker wire to the speakers. but i have come across a little issue. you see all the previous wiring is connected to the driver and passenger door by a single clip. there is no other opening in the door. and theres no room to slide my speaker wire in there. so how do i get the new wire into the door? the only way i see is to drill a couple holes. what do u guys usualy do?

i was at work last month and what did I find in a junk drawer? A brand new digital converter box. I asked my boss what was the story with it. He told me that he and a coworker had bought it cheap in 2009 to use with a tv in the pharmacy and that I could have it. Win. I'm putting the box in my center console and buy an antenna to mount either on the back deck or near the front glass by the front defroster. anybody used one of theses in a car or RV while moving? I hear reception is crystal when parked and choppy like satellite during a storm while in motion, Thoughts?

ive been after a clarion dz9255 for ages, they arnt available in europe so was thinking about importing one, clarion just done a press release in the uk for the new head units, which doesnt include the dz9255, so i winged a little and as luck would have it i won one i actualy won a clarion hx d2 but same model just malaysia spec so i can use the radio in the UK and slightly updated compared tot he 9255 what a good start to my holidays

Hello, I recently got an xbl^2 xxx motor from a friend. I was wondering who would have a re-cone kit for it. I have the motor and basket, I checked on Fi's website, but they don't seem to have it. I did see the MT's recone kit though, was wondering if I could use MT soft parts?

Ok I have a rather unique problem that I a guy of 5 years plus in the car audio has come up against. Ok here is the skinny, I have a: JVC Kd_LX 10 head unit MTX AMP JVC 12 Disk Changer 8" MTX Subs Now the problem is that when I listen to the radio all speakers in the car work just fine and that includes the subs. Here comes the gremlin I pop on the CD changer and Only the Driver side of the car speakers work But the Subs work just fine just cannot get the Passenger side of the car to play any sound when the DC player is on. i was wondering how many of you guys use ipods over cd's and cd changers in your cars? do you get the same quality out of the ipods that you would from cd's? this may sound stupid and i know it doesnt make sense so please correct me here, but im under the impression that music will play louder and better from cd's over using a ipod...again i know it sounds stupid..but id like to hear some opinions from the ipod users here

ok yea in the other post i said ordered 2 12" mags and a sundown 1500D thinkin of money for install and the issue of batt/alt/wires came to mind will i have to upgrade battery or alt. with the install??? oh and this shop guy said with a stock head unit i need sum continuous thing that when i turn up the volume the bass doesnt turn down...???.... saying i need some $200 thing to stop that and make it sound like i have an aftermarket HU...compared it to a JL cleansweep just that is to expensive neways thanks!

So I just bought a matching RE XXX 04-05 motor and I want to either do (2) 12"s or (2) 10"s. I have space in the trunk to provide both enclosures, but a 12" build would suck up every bit of trunk space and I'm afraid of having to built the box in the trunk. I really don't want to do this..My car has 165k on it, and I don't want to have to get a new rear suspension, or struggle with fitting the box through my trunk opening. I suppose I could turn the box and slip it in through the back seat, but sealing off and port forward, subs forwards, and trunk wall are all new to me. I have an Xpress Capacitor(new) I'm trying to install and it's not quite working. I charged it correctly but when I measure it with a voltmeter, it only measures 3.5V I tried to install it anyways, hoping that it will charge the rest by itself. So I hooked it up right next to the amp. The digital readout doesn't display. I followed the instructions and it doesn't work. I asked a friend and he said I should try hooking up a remote wire to the cap. Any ideas?

So I finally figured out roughly what I will be doing, probably a single 15" BL ported. How should I position these in my trunk. I know the typical is subs and ports facing the rear of the car. More than likely I will almost always have the back seats down, should this affect the way I point my subs and port. Should I go subs facing forward with port foward if my seats are always down, or subs facing the rear of the car and port facing the front of the car. Thanks for the help and patience with me.

what amp should i use to run 6 tweeters by clarion, i have a 2 channel amp to run to of them but iwant to get louder, and i have the battery power to run the beasts, so suggestions anyone.

Sup guys! I was wondering/ asking myself.. On birtsheets from Rockford Fosgate or Kicker, etc amps, why do diferent wattage ratings come up on birthseets? If a zx2500.1 is built the same as the next zx2500.1 built why would one say I.E 2,753 vs the second amp that says 2,945? If they both consist of the same parts and what not, why would power variate instead of being similar? Thanks for the input

Heres my status. I just sold the kove armageddon and the planet audio tt2250D that I had sitting around. I am in the process of selling my Planet Audio VX3002, and I will be ordering my Orion 2500D tomorrow. Once I sell the PA, I will order my 400.4. I also have some wheels on ebay so I can have some money to spend for christmas shopping. I am also about to buy a pair of EQT's for $115. Finals this week too. Fun stuff. i've become quite bored with the people in NC as almost everyone here is stuck on Alpine and JL and no one offers any good company. I am at wits end with people where i work who think Zapco is a Walmart brand and that the Kicker Comp Vrs are a good sub to get. No offense to the company as a whole, but i'm on to better things than those play toys. So where are the NC members?
