I have a kenwood excelon x997 comin in as well as 6.5 alpine type r components and a ppi black ice 800.4 as well as all wiring and a ssa dcon 15 hopefully going in a custom built 3.5 cubic foot box now how should I wire the 15 on to the rear channels of the ppi since my dcons are dual 4 ohm

Well I was searching everywhere for an amp the would give me over 800x1 RMS for my HT woofer project. I really wanted an amp with a passive cooling solution, but the ones available with the kind of power I wanted were out of my budget. My solution is in the form of a Carver PM-900 amp. It is a live sound amp by design, but I hope to tweak it into a quiet HT amp for my passive sub. I went with Carver because the amp in my car that powers my components is a Carver made in '87 and it sounds very very nice. Hi All, After a year of bassless sadness, I am getting to a place to be able to set up another system. Right now, my current research leads me to an SSA ICON (12" or 15" though leaning towards a 12"), FI Q Series, or Sound Qubed. I am also open to other brands or recommendations. My last system was two Sound Qubed HDS 3 10's and a Skar Monoblock 2200w Amplifier. I sold this system but still have the external audio battery to use. I have also had SSA DCON's in the past which I loved. I was reading online that SQ's products don't compare to SSA or FI. What would be the best subwoofer to go with for a single sub setup? Ok, so I have a dual 1 Fi BL 15'' in a ported box tuned @ 34 hz. Running it off of a kicker zx1500.1 w/ the gain set a little over half. And a cheap sony deck. I have been running it for about 3 or 4 weeks now and its sounded great! but last night when i turned it on, i was bumpin through town, and it was hitting good, and then i turned it down to say something to my friend, and when i turned it back up, it hit about once and then just stopped...no smoke, no burning nothing. just stopped. i figured one of my connections came out, but i checked all of em and they're good. My amp is still good and all my fuses are good. but it still won't hit! i even took it out of the box …

Hello again. I'm thinking of getting a single 4 channel amp to power my front stage plus one sub. The amps I'm considering are the Diamond Audio D6600.4, or the Arc Audio 4150XXK. Fronts would be getting on average 75 to 80 watts rms per side and the sub 300+ watts @ 4ohms. My question is; are there any disadvantage or issues when going with a setup like this...one amp for the entire system? I really like the idea of a simple install, but, I'm more concerned with drawing too much power from my car's electrical system and I want to avoid that. I have temporary bass right now that I paid about $60 bucks for, its a alpine type e in a pre-fab truck box that is about 1cuft and ported to a high frequency I am guessing, its running on my zx750 pretty strongly. Like expected there is absolutely no bottom end compared to my ssd 15 lol, I wanna order another type e for 60 and make my own box this week. Would these sound decent with about 2.5 cuft each and tuned to about 34 hz?

ive been after a clarion dz9255 for ages, they arnt available in europe so was thinking about importing one, clarion just done a press release in the uk for the new head units, which doesnt include the dz9255, so i winged a little and as luck would have it i won one i actualy won a clarion hx d2 but same model just malaysia spec so i can use the radio in the UK and slightly updated compared tot he 9255 what a good start to my holidays

Well today sucked! This is some major league BULLCHIT! So my car started dying again. 3 times from coming home to get my mom to follow me to the shop and so within about 15mi of driving it died 3 times. Apparently the system is too much for my car and i can't get a high output alternator because my belt wont be able to handle it... so today the guy at the shop told my mom it'd be best to get rid of my system. now i really don't want to but i guess i should if i dont want my car to die on me constantly :/ . Im going to see if he thinks it can handle a 500-800 watt system because if it can't im gunna be uber pissed. What are some options for subs? I want either 2 12's or 1 …

Im looking to do a whole electrical upgrade to prep for a fi sp415 strapped to a 3000 watt amp (Thinking maybe crescendo or hifonics). My question is what size alternator do you think would efficient. Im struggling finding any good info on high output alternators. I am planning on getting 2 15" BL's with about 8 cubic feet of volume in a ported box to about 30 hz (I love lows, the lower the better). So how do you guys think this will perform? Also I have heard great things about Sundown and that they make great amps so what model amp or amps would fit these subs good, and what kind of electrical and front stage upgrades am I looking at to make this sound great? Also I have heard of the Q's hitting upper 140's with just one 15, so would this be that much louder if it is a good setup? Well, Tang Band has a new fan. Today I installed a Pioneer 7700 cd player, a planet audio vx2002 on a set of fusion powerplant 6.5 comp set, and a jbl bp600 on 2 tang band 740 8" subs in a 1.3 ft3 box tuned at 33. I'm pretty damn impressed for two 8"s that I got new for $80 a pair. Heavy little subs, built well, 12mm x-max. I have 2 more on the way But as it sits it makes for a VERY clean sounding system, I wasn't expecting the amount of low end output, It's not 150 dbs but defintily enough for a nice daily beater, didn't expect the low end authority. a few days ago it was about -28F outside and i had my radio maxed out from when i arrived at work. when i left i started my truck and forgetting i had the volume up i didnt turn it down before it started to play. i got about 1/4 of a note out of my sub and it stopped playing, tonight i pulled my sub out of its box to find one of the tinsel leads broken in half. i soldered it back together and the sub works now but my amp does not. my KX2500.1 powers on but there is no AC voltage out of its terminals. i assume the sub caused some degree of arcing on the amp. how common is it for subs to blow apart due to cold weather? now obviously my case is max power at very cold temps…

I Just put the pio 880 in my 98 expe, and that deck is awesome. I am in love. It even makes the factory set up tolerable.... almost. Well I know what I need to do next and thats basic electrical and deadening, while I wait to see if I want to do an alarm etc. I'm going to go active in the front and am still undecided about placement of speakers and then in turn about what size drivers..and how I want to go about it, so I'm going to switch gears and work on the bass and deadening and electrical for a while. I am completely lost on the big 3 and it will take me a long time to figure those out I think. I have read it's practical to just double up with the factory instead…
