Hey guys, long time since i've actually posted on here. I've recieved my 2 12' FI Q's a few months ago, and i have to say, great subs. Beastly handling, but what i'm about to show you is kind of pathetic. I took my first video of these subs, and i have to say it isn't the best, but it gets the general idea of what i need to work and improve on. First i'd like to say that i'm only 16 and i had minimal help in installing this system. Therefore i didnt have any money to invest in a deck or any half decent equipment , what can you do when you don't have money? So here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaACs2NjaEA Its not really a video to show off, but i'm seeing it as mo…

About 20 Min. ago i was reading a topic that someone had posted. I had to turn off the computer but i wanted to save the topic so that i could read it later. I Clicked the "watch topic" button and i thought i would be able to go under my profile and look at the watched topics or something like that but im not able to find anything that has that. Is there anyway for me to see the topics that i am watching? If not the topic was about howa guy called a local car audio shop to mess around with them and see what they really knew about car audio. And when he stated that he was running 3000 Watts RMS he said his lights were dimming. What could he do about that The Car audio deal…

So in the future, about spring time, I am going to be upgrading to 2-15" NS in my car powered by 2-SAZ2000 strapped amps. So I will be pushing about 4000rms at 2ohm and now i am looking at which batteries to purchase. Here are the 2 which i found, either 2- XS2700 or 2- kinetik hc2400. My question to you is what would you use? XS or Kinetik? the price for the 2700 and hc2400 are about the same, on ebay and ssa. i am leaning towards the XS myself. but i have LOTS of time to think about it! please feel free to make some suggestions to other batteries but please keep in mind space limitations of 13"x6.7". I will get accurate measurements on Wednesday. Kenneth And please fee…

I've seen a lot of topics about resistance so i decided to make topic about this to clear things up. There are 3 ways how to run your dual coil sub. 1) Series connection: you will wire your sub in series. If you connect in series you add resistance. 1+1=2 ohms 2+2=4 ohms 4+4=8 ohms 2) Parallel connection: Hook up your sub in parallel. Making your resistance lower. 1/1+1/1+1/2 = 0.5 ohms 1/2+1/2+1/1 = 1 ohm 1/4+1/4+1/0.5 = 2 ohms 3) Or you can run dual channel amp, 1 coil to 1 channel. Or run 2 amps one amp to one channel. I actually don't recommend this connection, because coils have to be powered equally, you need to make really accurate settings. Hope that this helps yo…

Hey guys I am looking to get a 15" in the 1500-2000 RMS range, depending on what would work best with my final decision. I listen to mostly Rock, Alternative and Rap/Hip-Hop. I like getting loud more then really caring about quality. So I believe a driver geared more towards SPL might be a good decision?? This set-up will be going in my Extended Cab Ram, so I have quite a bit of room to work with. Sub: Sounds like XCON might not be a bad choice. Even though its more SQ then SPL? Need suggestions. Would like to get Dual 2. Amp: Sundown SAZ- 2000/1500D would be my #1 choice. Depending on driver choice. Looking to run it at 1 ohm. Box: A local shop does good work on boxes s…

I'm posting this thread in the general section so that maybe more people will see it. This is a plea to get people to write product reviews. In my opinion, that is one of the most valuable resources that this forum can have yet it is being severely underutilized. Write a review about all of your equipment, not just subs (as I know that's the most popular). We get many threads each day with people trying to figure out what equipment to buy and we could point them to the review section. But right now there are about four reviews in the last four months in there. However, there is a caveat to my encouragement. Please write a good review. This includes positives and neg…

So I'm going to attempt to make a false floor in my scion xb. Back there now there is a storage compartment type thing above the spare tire. I'm going to try to make a tray for my amp to sit in. Its a Saz-1000d. Here's my question. I'm going to put some fans in so that I can put the false floor over the amp. Will this have sufficient airflow? Maybe like 2 120 mm fans on each side, 2 pushing and 2 pulling. Will this be a problem?

I posted this over on the Mach 5 Audio section, too. Some short videoes of my 6th order wall in my Jeep. Two Mach 5 SPL 15's and an American Bass XD1800, so not a whole lot of power. My Powerbass XA3000D is in for repair. Still have a lot of tweaking and testing to get this build running full tilt. Thanks for the views! 17. Sorry about this really really , noobish question but i was doing research and couldn't find this answer out myself. Materials : AMP- http://www.shopping.com/xPO-Pyramid-PB448 (worst amp in life, but its all i have laying around , until my other one ships in mail. SUB - Fi SSD 15 DVC 2 ohm. Is it possible to wire up the left REAR channel of the amp to one voice coil and the other voice coil to the right REAR channel of the amp to get the 250rms per channel @ 4 ohm. to equal 500rms. or since the amp is brigdable , wire both voice coils together and bridge them into one channel? (AMP is not 1 ohm stable , so i'd need to wire them for 4 ohm.) Thanks i just wanted to a…

I have called all the local car audio shops trying to find someone with a TL. I just don't want to spend $650 on a meter, when I could buy another sundown audio 3000D for that. I'm just asking if anyone knows of a place that has a TL anywhere in the montgomery or birmingham alabama area. Thanks. Are there other types of meters that are close to that of the tl, but aren't as expensive?

How many times have you rode down the street going to the store or to a friend's house or something, and you are at a stop light and someone pulls up with the system bumping and they think that they are the Shyt. what do you do when this happens to you? I personally. turn my system up for about 10secs turn it back down and hear nothing but sounds of the street. embarrassed, the other person puts their's on mute in shame. I thinks it funny a little. Hey guys I have a little project I need help with. I recently purchased a new head unit with a monitor, replacing my old Pioneer 4000UB with iPod control. The new unit only has RCA Aux-In and does not offer iPod integration. What I am trying to accomplish is have my iPod play audio output through the sound system (two amps - one for mids/highs and one for subs) independent of the head unit, so I can play videos/movies on the head unit while still having the option to listen to a different track than what's being outputted from the movie... if that makes sense. It would be an easy solution to plug the iPod directly to the Aux-In of the head unit but then the screens would…

I dont know if i described this very well just ask and ill provide information where needed. Is it just a tuning problem? Also it will just cut off when the volume gets to loud.

What makes your setup hit your chest hard? Is it the RMS amount? Box Tuning? Sub? What would be the best way to get the hard hitting, urghh my chest bass (: I have an Fi SSD 15(copper coil), just built the box , tuned to 33hz, 3.44 cubic ft. Powerd by a hifonics 1206d. Box is built just waiting on the Sub to come in the mail. If this setup isn't going to do it, then thats alright. But what is this build good for?
