Ive been playing with the thought lately as installing an iPad in the dash of my truck. I was looking at an in dash unit but I can get and iPad in for like $500 total installed. I don't want to have a head unit along with the iPad, just the iPad with the adapter that allows for charging with audio/video rca's. Here's some of the questions I was trying to figure out. Has anyone ever attempted this or talked with someone who has? Although not the best I can use processing on the iPad itself. I should be able to connect directly to the amp with the rca's correct? I may be missing some things but it seems like if you tapped the remote in with the ignition and rca's worked tha…

I'm looking to reduce a bit of the noise from under the hood. Can I use raamat BXT or secondskin's Damplifier underneath the hood for this application. Also, is there anything else that I could use or should along with one of those products. This is for my GMC Sierra 04. Thanks guys!!

Just bought another truck to mess around with and looking into doing a blowthrough. I figured if I'm doing a blowthrough I wanted to do 4 15s. I'm gonna purchase a h/o alt of course. My first option is 4 sundown sa 15s running off of a crescendo bc3500d or a sundown saz 2500d. Looking to only spend about $800 on the amp. Would the crescendo out do the saz for the same dollar pretty much? 2nd option was to get a lil louder. 4 sundown zv4 15s running off of 2 crescendo bc3500d or 2 saz 2500d. Or would that not be enough power to call it good? Would the much higher power subs My question is with the power I'm thinking of giving the 2 options what would be more ideal. I wa…

Hi, I was wondering, as the alternator put out there max output on around 1500rpm or something like that, on my car, that has an electronic idle control system, Is there some part or something to raise and keep an certain idle speed by the press of a button or something similar? Thank you.

I was browsing the web recently and came across this pic on a local shops website here in Fort Wayne. It's their only pic so I'm guessing it's their best work to date. Looks great, huh?

So whats the deal with these boxes? I cant go onto their website, and i heard they may be having some issues? I really would like to find a box thats this quality out there without having to pay someone $500 for some 'custom' made POS. So if anyone knows a person, or company that makes good boxes, let me know.

  16. Hey guys, I just wanted your opinions on what enclosure would be better in terms of "loudness". That may be defined differently for some of you, but I'm looking for a low boomier type of bass. I'm not sure what setup I have planned for will be loudest though. Here's what I got so far: Setup 1: 1 12" Fi Q in a 2.5 cu ft ported enclosure @ 32 hz, running 900w @ 2 Ohms. OR Setup 2: 2 12" Fi Q in a 2.5 cu ft sealed enclosure, both wired down to run 600w each @ 1 ohm. The reason I don't do both speakers in a ported enclosure is because I don't have 4-5 cubes of space to offer in my car trunk. Gotta put the groceries somewhere, you know? Anyways, I'd love to hear some thoughts …

I'm thinking about upgrading the "factory stereo" in the '05 E-150 next month as a gift...because what's in there now is laughable. The standard Ford AM/FM radio, not even a tape deck. This is the main delivery truck, so everything needs to be mounted under the seats/hidden. Here's what I've come up with so far... Source: Alpine CDE-9842, $130 new from Crotchfield. Maybe an extra dash kit if they don't provide one, it's a standard 1.5DIN opening. Speakers: Crystal CXE570 5x7 coaxials (http://mmxpress.com/crystal/crystal_speakers.htm) Amplifier: Damn PE for selling out of the Aura amps I'd need a decent two-channel, 50Wx2 into 4 ohms should be plenty. Something along the …

Well I was originally going to do SPL comps but I haven't been to one in two years and I figure it may be time to move on.... So I figure, should I keep my 15 or sell it? I am thinking of doing a different build - from 1 15 to 4 10" woofers.. Not too sure what kind yet but probably Fi bls (or maybe qs) and strap one amp to them for now and if I want to upgrade it I have the electrical for it (3 bats in the trunk and a 350 amp) strap a bigger, or another amp on. But heres my question mainly - how will having more cone space but less power do? Will it be just as brutal if I tune low or will I be missing out a lot?

  21. I've been searching for the past hour. And I have found many tones, but they're all protected by Quick Time Player and I can't download them! I've tried google, and I've tried searching the forums here, but I get seemingly random results that have nothing to do with the words I entered into the search... Does anyone know where I can find an mp3 of a 50 hz sine wave that I can download for free? (I'm also looking for 30 hz, 70 hz, 100 hz, 150 hz, and 200 hz.) I'm sorry I fail at the internet

I have the oppurtunity to use stainless steel bolts for grounds on a project i am working on. i have read that stainless is not generally a good conductor of electricity. I want to run stainless because on this truck the bolts will see some weather. So i figure i would use stainless to help combat the rust and corrosion regular steel bolts and nuts see. So what do the Gods and Gurus think? Stainless for grounds like for air compressors and amplifiers? Large relocated battery grounds to frame and cab with stainless bolts or should i just go and buy regular bolts and deal with rust and crap later?

My friend just bought an SA 15 with a SAZ 1500D v2(used) I told him that amp is too much for that sub but he said nah he knows what he's doing. Now he's calling me and asking me how can he power the sub without blowing it. Lol. I don't know what to tell him as I've never overpowered a sub and wanted good results before lol. Any tips on how to do so? Thanks in advance.
