i gotta guy wanting me to a build for him in his 73' caprice convertible and i need some suggestions! he wants to go big but he doesn't like ported boxes for some odd reason. now he's seen my other builds and he expects it to be as loud as those. i might be able to convince him to go ported but it really has to slam. here's the catch, it all has to be in the trunk! but the good news is he has an open wallet. im thinkin 8-12" sa's and about 12000 watts rms. any suggestions out there?

My girl leased a new Rav4, and looking to make some changes to the factory stereo. Keeping the stock touch screen HU, and want to keep everything as factory looking as possible (drop in speakers, no cutting/custom) in the chance we turn it in at the end. In the title I put "reliable" as, there is a good chance we will buy this at the end of the lease and have it a long time. My back isn't so great, so Id like to do this once, and have it last. I have a couple sets of Crescendo CCX65s that Ive had since 2011. They were only used for about 18-20 months though, (only 4 months amped at 60w). The surrounds are loose, they don't sound as good as they did, there is rust on/aro…

  8. On youtube there are videos of people running an insane amount of subs in their vehicles for spl applications. Like 15 15's or 6 18's and other crazy numbers of subs. How do they have enough space?? An FI BL 15 for example is recommended to need 3-5 cubic feet of space plus port area. If you run 15 of them together thats 45-75 cubic feet of space plus port area... Do SUV's and vans really have that much space?? Or does the fact that there are so many cones moving so much air make them work the way they do without having the recomended amount of space?? Im just curious if anybody knows how so many subs can be run together and do what they do in the space they are put in.

Running four Dc audio 15 level subs off 4 sundown 1500 wired to 1 ohm.with four odessy 2250 and 210 amp altnators The problem i have is that the four subs come out a long way (not meant to do it in a funny style osaltion)When i get to about 152 db on music. I used to be able to bass race at 154.5 but now can't run that loud at all. I switched from running two crown bpx 2200.And made the box bigger to over 20 cubic's after displacment.it was 14 cubic foot after displacment. I am wondering is the problem cause the box is to big. box is tuned to 32 hz. Burps at 45hz and 155.1 with the 20 cubic foot and 154.6 with the 14cubic foot.

Hi guyz, Would like to know other websites such as www.audiojunkies.com or www.enjoythemusic.com/news/ to keep up with the news. I am more interested in car audio news. I also what to know more about overseas news such as other car audio companies (Brax, Ground Zero, HSS Fidelity, etc...), not many might know that Helix (Brax sistership company) have new amplifiers (hybrid tube and SPL), subwoofers (thin line and SPL), and speakers.

I have a low budget and found a deal on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=350193519262 it comes with 2 10" subs in a box and an amp for $170 obviously i know that these arent going to be the best subs, but i dont plan on playing my music mind-numbingly loud. Just loud enough to get some crisp base thumping. Ive never bought or had subs in my car before. let me know how the specs of the subs and amp stack up, and if theyre worth the price. -thanks!

  19. Ive gotten my box completed and my sub installed in my car for about a week now, its going to be a nice weekend out here in Michigan and would like to finish my box. What do I use to cover up all my seams/screws so I can paint over it. Also I want to have a nice black or charcoal look to the box but have it be textured like steve meades, any ideas what to use for it.

Hey guys, just recently bought a 2 channel and am now wiring or trying to wire it. i have come to the point of putting the speaker wire to the speakers. but i have come across a little issue. you see all the previous wiring is connected to the driver and passenger door by a single clip. there is no other opening in the door. and theres no room to slide my speaker wire in there. so how do i get the new wire into the door? the only way i see is to drill a couple holes. what do u guys usualy do?

Is there a way, such as a calculation, or some type of rule of thumb to determine what alternator, as well as how many batteries it will take to run a certain system? Are there any guidelines to determine these values? For example, lets say i have a 5000 watt system, can i plug that into an equation, or some sort of outline to determine what size alternator i would need, and how many batteries i would need? or if i wanted an 8000watt system, same thing.... Is there a rule, like for every 1000watts you need a certain amount of amps within a battery? I am not trying to figure anything out for myself, I am just askin for basic knowledge to see if there is an easy way to d…

I'm excited to help bring Scott Buwalda to this part of the world. B) We've been talking over the past weeks, discussing the feasibility, and have had some quick and enthusiastic response! While Buffalo, NY isn't a huge city, it is central to quite a bit - Southern Ontario (Toronto is only 1.5 hours, Niagara Falls about 30 minutes, etc) Rochester, NY (about 1 hour) Northeast Ohio (about 2.5 hours) Erie, Pa (about 1.5 hours) And with the cancellation of the Sacramento, CA event - we were able to secure a date! B) Here is the official announcement thread: http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/ubb/ultima...ic;f=3;t=010529 For those that haven't seen yet, here is the Sound Qua…

My friend was looking at simply buying one of these in order to recieve "more" power to his speakers. He has a 4 channel Polk Audio amp in the back, that is running a 12 bridged off of two channels, and the other 2 channels are hooked onto some random 6x9's he has. The amp is 800 watts x 4 channels at 4 ohms. I told him, that I have a amp he could buy for the sub itself, and use the amp for his front and rear stages. He has a H/O Alt on a 1988 Camaro with a red-top ultima battery. Do you think it would be worth spending about a hundred and twenty dollars to buy this "power brick"? Or to just simply use his 4 channel amp. http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/ktp-445 Tha…
