Ive got an alpine mrp m350 amp that does 350 watts @ 2 ohm and a 4 ohm dvc ssa dcon 10". Im trying to run the sub at around 300-350 watts in parallel at 2 ohms. I want to accurately set my gain and found the equation that you are suppossed to use to find the optimal volts. Voltage = sqrt(rms x impedence) So is this what i would do for my 4 ohm dvc woofer? Voltage = sqrt(300x4ohm) Voltage = sqrt(1,200) Voltage = 35 Or is it this since im running the amp at 2 ohm to a 4 ohm dvc woofer Voltage = sqrt(300x2 ohm) Voltage = sqrt(600) Voltage = 24.5

I just want to get this straight, the 1/0 run from my amp to battery, i would hook into the 1/0 slot in something like THIS, and then connect that to the actual battery terminal.. right? Also, why does it say its a Pos/Neg battery clamp? (Doesnt it matter which side of the battery you hook it to?) sorry for the pure newbness and Thanks to everyone that replies haha

I am looking to build a 4th order or wall in a Tahoe at the c-pillar. I am looking at either 3 or 4 woofers. 1st question, has any one had success with a 4th order build with only 3 subs? 2nd question will a 4th order with 4 subs or wall with 4 woofers work well at the c-pillar?

well has of right now what i have planned is a yellow top under the hood with 2 kinetik's in the back..i spoke to some people and they said no need for dual alts just add more batteries..1 said i needed to had 7 batteries..so with 7 in the back and up front wont 1 300amp alt have a hard time dealing with 9 batteries? also is 7 of these batteries over kill or is this something that needed? http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=4580 has you can see they are a bit pricy but very strong..i see them on ebay for about $350 each...so what do you guys think..battery/alt wise? by the way this is for around 4000-4500 watts total

I'm sure there are a ton of these posts, but I figured I'd throw mine out there and get some insight. Kinetik HC1400 JVC El Kameleon 12" AA Havoc Sundown 1500D Clarion DPX2251 DLS Ultimate UP6i RaaMmat BXT I mainly listen to rock/metal, and I need to have high volume levels with as little distortion as possible. The thing I'm concerned about the most is the 'DLS' speakers. As far as I've searched, (just about everywhere,) they've gotten rave reviews. My prior selection was a set of Focal 165KRX2's, so the DLS setup is a huge drop in price. The cost isn't all that big of a deal, but it does play a factor. Any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated. However, i…

Is it safe to put a ground under the carpet, or do i have to cut a hole around the ground? Also, i watched an instructional video on grounding a long time ago, and i remember the guy putting 3 or 4 screws in the ring terminal to keep it down. Is that alright, or do i have to bolt? I'm putting the ground (1/0) where my jack used to be under the backseat of my dodge ram. I know its safe to drill there because there are bolts already there for a bracket to hold the jack.

Lately I've been looking into Fibeglass subwoofer enclosures and I'm just wondering if they function any differently then an MDF enclosure? I've done some research and wouldn't think it would affect the sound if it was properly constructed but alot of people online have said that MDF is the way to go. Is that just because MDF is so much easier to work with or does fiberglass really affect the output of the woofer? Also, after looking around the site alot of people here use fiberglass for speakers and midbass drivers but not many use it for Subs and that got me worrying about it too. If any of the Guru's here could shed some light on the subject it would be greatly appreci…

I have recently upgraded my sound system to a Sundown u15 D4 1500w rms, and a GK audio 3500.1D1 (3000w rms). No component speaker upgrades...YET. My stock 132 amp alternator is well on its way to being smoked. So, I am ordering a Mechman 320 amp alternator, and would like to know what size battery (that will fit in the stock position) I will need. I don't care so much about amp hours, because bumping the system isn't really a common thing without the engine running. My goal is to NOT run any type of capacitor, and I really don't want to have to add a battery in the back. I am now running an OEM duralast battery (not sure of specs) and with my weak stock altern…

My old Uberwoofer has really seen better days. There is tear in the surround, dents in the cone, oh and it survived a high temp garage fire as well as subsequent water immersion. Last I knew (circa 2005), RE among others were willing to do one off woofer rebuilds... I haven't followed CA very much at all in the last couple of years, but anyone have recommendations on rebuilding this old girl? SQ biased... SPL is for noobs -Nick

In building my new HT mains, I wanted another major change, so I said to hell with it... I wanted a new reciever, so guess what? I pissed away a small fortune!!! Oooo, sexy!!! With a Rava, this is a huge unit. It is a Pioneer Elite VXS-45TX. Lemme tell you, this is a bad a$$ SOB. It weighs more than a Brahma, and I think it even sounds better . It is so deep and so tall I had to relocate the reciever to the top shelf of the rack. For more pics, look at the "elite45" labled pics Here. I know there are some pics of the HT cabinets and maybe some of the wood as well on that page, if you chose to look. But as stated, the pics that begin with "Elite45" are the reciever un…

Hi. I have recently been having problems with my Kicker sound system. I have a Kicker ZX750 Mono Amp, 2 12 in. Kicker Comps, Kicker KS69 Speakers, and a Kicker 4 gauge wiring kit. I have only been using the system for about 2-3 months now. Latly, however, the bass has been cutting in and out. What I mean by that is that on songs that had nice bass before...now the bass doesn't play half of the song. It's like every other three beats. Do I need a power cap or what is going on here? My headlights are also dimming when the bass does pound (but not all the time). Also, on the amp, there is a frequency setting that I am not sure what to set at. Does anyone have any suggestions…

Is there anything special to put behind the subs when you drop it into the enclosure so air does not leak between the sub and the front face they are resting in?
